I remember in March of 1976 the Dead sent all their fans a handbill and a letter.
The handbill was an alt version of the crow from wake of the flood and the letter opened up with "Asking you nicely...keep the mother rolling one more time!"
That's how we were greeted & shown how to buy tickets for the theatre "return" tour!

I was on tour that spring and this was my girls very first show Was one of the best shows on spring tour that year of 93. She was on the bus after that.

Seems like they were trying out autotune.
This version of 'Here Comes Sunshine' is a great example of how much Jerry and the group as a whole declined over the last five years or so. Here they open the song with an acapella chorus, leaving out that beautiful lilting opening melody that is instantly identified with it. This riff never reappears in the song as it usually does. Also, the jam in the middle is pretty pedestrian, and Jerry just seems to be dialing it in. The chorus is nowhere near as full as it was when Donna was still with them. Thank God Phil at least was joining in. Also missing from this version was Kieth's skillful piano flourishes. Instead we have a few notes from Vince Welnick who, in my opinion, wasn't half as accomplished a keyboard player as either Kieth or Brett. To prove my point, compare this performance with that from 11/17/73 Pauley Pavilion, which is on fire, with incredible jams between all three verses. Hell, any of the other versions from 1973 are better than this.
This sounds very post production heavy to me...less than live. it's a beautiful song - for certain! but it just doesn't sound like the dead in 93.. it sounds like it's mixed with "wake of the flood" version of the song. very studio heavy production here!
If there is any post production on this video, I can guarantee the studio version has nothing to do with it. The form of the song itself is different from the studio version, and those awful 90s era keyboards on this recording sound nothing like the warm analog sounds put out by Keith Godchaux on the original studio recording.

I saw them do this at Shoreline. It was a very amplified, “muscular” sound. I could feel the music in my chest. They released balloons into a blue California sky. It was more of a stadium anthem as opposed to the gentler studio version.
