  • What happens when you leave alkaline batteries in a maglite for a long period of time! However still an awesome flashlight. Links to the upgrade kits etc on Amazon below amzn.to/3n3YC0h

If you remove the retainer clip you can slide the switch out of the end instead of smashing it.

How do I remove the cap that is basically fused together with battery acid I've tried tapping it on wood using a hair dryer and wd40 none of it worked.

Gee that sounds really stuck- keep trying the wd40- let it soak for a while

😂😂😂 wow that is stuck.....put it on a vise and take a 3 lb sledge 🔨. Promise you the tail cap will unscrew itself and 💩 out the batteries before you have a chance to pound the MFer. You have to love Maglite to deal with this kind of bull 💩.

Sorry to hear that you have had the same issue as many of us before! I haven't got a Greatlite to do a video on, but they look similar to a Maglite. You can try using WD-40 or CRC in and around the batteries first and leave it overnight- i have heard in some cases this can work to loosen them up.- Good luck - All the best.
