    I hate the silver valve covers, that was the deal breaker for me and I went for the sixty. I bought it and rode it home almost 200 miles. I rode my KTM 690 Duke to the dealer as a trade in and absolutely enjoyed the ride home. The bike was extremely comfortable. I was saddle sore for sure but the Duke is not a long distance bike. Truly pleased with the purchase with only one issue. I got it home and found an oil leak at the oil pressure switch. Nothing like a defective part on a new bike...

      Hi Barry...
      I'm trying to get my first bike... Incredible bit I'm between R3/MT03 and this Scout Bobber Sixty....I know the prices and styles.... What do you recomend?

    • @Redmow51
      @Redmow51 Pƙed 3 lety +3

      @@jorgepineda9301 I would recommend getting the Scout Bobber 60. I started with the MT03.
      Don't get me wrong. I love the MT03 and is alot of fun but now that I have been riding for several months, I wish I would have gotten something different.
      I don't want a sport bike...I'm not into the speed scene.
      I now wish I would have started with the Honda Rebel 500 or the MT07.
      The MT03 is a beginner bike but I think the Scout Bobber 60 can be also. Just learn the clutch, gas and brakes and start slow and easy.
      I made a plan on what I had to be capable of before I moved up the ladder. I started in my neighborhood. Stop signs, easy shift of gears 1-3 etc. Balance. Right turns and left turns.
      When I felt sure of myself, graduated on to back roads around my neighborhood. Then to other streets. Finally to main roads.
      If you are able, get the bike to a church parking lot and learn countersteering, slow turns and emergency stops.
      Just take it easy and don't rush yourself.

      Reliability is great! The Indian Scout motor has been around for almost 20 years. Back when Victory sold the Octane. Honda's are reliable too, so you shouldn't have any problems with either! I've heard nothing but great things about the new Rebel. Between the Scout Sixty and the Rebel, id go for the Honda

      This bike is totally a beginner bike on paper. Its affordable in price, has a low seat height, and its an easy bike to ride. Its only a 1000cc, so its not scary powerful.
      While I was riding it, I noticed that it handled extremely sporty and was way quicker than expected because of its light weight. A light bike with a high power to weight ratio can get an inexperienced rider in trouble.
      A Harley Sportster 883 or a Vulcan 900 are true beginner cruisers. This bike is a sports cruiser just like the Vulcan S 650. It's just barely tame enough to be considered entry level, but it performs and handles well enough for an experienced rider too. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching 👍

    Great video, do you have any opinions about the scout 60 vs the triumph bobber? I realize people usually compare the 1200 scout but at 80hp the 60 may be a little closer. New rider and like both bikes but have been leaning triumph. Obviously concerns about either being too much bike but I'm almost 40 and 6'5" so I'm not worried about going silly on it and most of the traditional starter bikes fit like mopeds.

    • @NicePantsLance
      @NicePantsLance  Pƙed 2 lety +4

      In my opinion, the Triumph Bobber blows the Scout 60 out of the water. It has more power, more torque, better brakes, better handling, lighter weight, better throttle feel, etc etc
      I feel like the regular Scout would be a better comparison. Even though it's got 20 more horsepower, the Triumph makes 6ft lbs more torque @2000rpm lower than the Scout. The Triumph Bobber also starts off 40lbs lighter than the Scout, so the Triumph actually feels lighter and more powerful in the low rpms compared to the Scout. The Scout has way better top end speed, but the Triumph out-handles it in the turns.
      In my opinion, I feel like the Triumph is higher quality, has more features, and is more well rounded than the Indian. The lighter weight, better brakes and different riding modes are great for new riders too. Triumph focuses on low end grunt and handling, whereas the Scout has more of a sport bike feel to it with its high revving motor. The Scout is a better drag bike, and is faster than the Triumph though.
      Hope this helps! đŸ€˜

      My honest opinion about? You would personally like the Indian more. Slightly more potential, and that Indian style is totally unique đŸ€™ if I were you, I would try to get on a Scout Bobber with the larger, 100hp motor. Its much more expensive than the 60, but its the fastest cruiser in its class

      I just traded in my 2020 vulcan s for a 2018 scout sixty. It's a crazy noticeable difference. Clutch pull, acceleration, shifting, braking. Sound all of it is just significalty better than the vulcan. I will say when it comes to handling the vulcan is like riding a bicycle because it's so light, raised higher and the center of gravity helps. With that being said the scout 60 is not hard to handle, just not as "flimsy" as the vulca

    • @NicePantsLance

    • @NicePantsLance

      You'll be pleased to hear that the Scout 60, and the standard Scout both have the same final drive ratio. That means they'll be at around the same rpm at a given speed in top gear. The Scout 60's gearbox is basically a regular Scout's gearbox with 5th gear cut out. Both Scouts will cruise at 70-80mph at about 4000rpm. I believe peak torque is around 5500rpm or so, and they redline over 8000rpm. I'm pretty sure the Scout 60 can do 120mph so highways shouldn't be a problem 👍

    4:48 common misconception, all bikes feel light when you are standing them upright, because all the weight is on the wheels. Any bike that is upright can be held with literally a finger if you balance it. The weight will come thru when you lean the bike or try to change its acceleration (forward/backward or left/right)

      This one had stock controls, so it was a little cramped for me. You would definitely need the Indian extended reach controls to be comfortable. I believe forward controls scrape a little easier than the stock controls too.

    Really torn between this and the Vulcan 900 custom. What I really want is an RE Int 650, but at almost 32" seat height, that's not going to work for me. Sad when you find the perfect looking bike you want and can't get it because of a detail like that. I'll probably go with the 900 just because I like the way it looks, it's a great bike mechanically AND there's a dealership in my small city. The Indian dealer is a hour away. But I'm going to drive up there and try it out anyway. At this point it could go either way.
    I know what's going to happen in the next few months. I'm going to try to talk myself into the Int 650 ANYWAY even though the nearest dealer is an hour away and if something happens I'll have to have it towed. Can I stand a bike where I have to wear thick boots and even then I won't be able to flat foot? Sort of like the old saying: "Whatever choice you make, given time you will repent."

      Having ridden both the Vulcan 900 and Indian Scout 60, the Indian Scout 60 is definitely the better machine. Fit and finish, as well as performance is on another level! The RE int 650 is a nice bike too. I have a triumph Speed Twin so I like the style. However, youll miss the power and performance of the Indian Scout 60. Hope you get the bike you want đŸ€˜ thanks for watching
