  • On test today, and the last of these sort of tech reviews I'm aiming to do (unless something much more exciting comes along) it's a tablet from Oukitel. It's you general sort of mid-range price tablet. The question is: Will it show any distinct differences from other tablets in this sort of price range (spoiler alert: No)
This tablet was supplied by Oukitel for review, so here's an affiliate link if you want to check it out in more detail: shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=209265...

A bit of a snail, but it might be good for grandmother sitting in her rocking chair doing emails to her friends

gfx is weakest in those tbaletts. I recommend going not higher that 720p, then it is satisfying (aged HP ElitePad here)

You don't really get an option in these tablets, it's always a native resolution. In some games/apps (like my own one) you can change it to a virtual resolution - which just means that a smaller image is passed to the display and the scaler bumps it' back up to native resolution. As the scaler is HW, there's no penalty for using, so kind of gives you a way of using a different resolution for speed

@@CurryKitten I had videos on platforms like YT in mind. 1080/30 runs fine on mine, 1080/60 starts to drop frames. so I play videos always in 720p fullscreen (on external 24" screen). The little thing has it easier this way.

It does not support BT codecs (LDAC, APTX), except SBC. The flash light is a disaster, it's better that they didn't even install it. Netflix only works in SD resolution. The current January security update has a problem, resulting in a watermark in the lower right corner, which cannot be resolved at the moment. Otherwise, it's not a bad tablet. :D

Well yes, your last tablet review is lousy. You have no clue what's happening with the voice functionality on tablets. Every communications provider wants to sell data but not voice. But this tablet promises the voice. It has a sim card slot, the phone jack, and the phone icon right on the main panel. It *never* occurred to you that lots of people (like me) are looking for a tablet with a standard voice channel so that they can have a phone and a LARGE screen without paying 1,500 USD for the privilege of folding it. Being clueless is not a handicap because you are not even aware of what's going on. So, back to your rusty BBQ you go, and good luck.

This one had a sim card slot, as did the previous 2 Doogee tablets I looked at. It's not something I concentrate on as it seems an insane way to make a phone call. Oh what's that, my phone ringing - excuse me while I pull an 11" tablet out of my pocket and hold it up to my face. It's also a reason I'm uninterested in the photo capabilities of any tablet. Anyone that goes around in public holding up a massive tablet (I've seen people do this) sre doing it wrong

Hmm, did you think of putting your really good tablet in your car being connected with mobile voice and large navigation screen while recording drivers in Sunday rush, and all this without worrying your lithium car batteries bursting on fire? No bloody imagination -- positive or negative. Back to your BBQ.
