Two of MJ's UNC National Championship teammates played for the Lakers: James Worthy, and Sam Perkins.
And haters says, Magic was washed that year lmaoo.. Magic was 2nd place in mvp voting after MJ, he was 1st team all nba that season also and was 31 yrs old so he was still in his prime.. It just that MJ that year was the most unstoppable 2-way player and also one of the most complete the league has ever seen..
Fun fact... That year(1991 season) MJ was the only all star on his team (Although Pippen had alright season its not enough to make him an all star that year but was good enough to support Mj as the playoff progress) while Lakers had 2 all star namely Magic and James Worthy( in his prime also) and had 58 win record.
James worthy was playing through injury, he got injured again in game 4 alongside byron scott

To be fair Magic was at the end of his career here and Kareem was already retired so it wasn’t a top tier Lakers team regardless great game by Jordan.

Worthy was injured too. The Lakers were actually a surprise.... Magic getting them to the finals was a huge accomplishment, they weren't great.

THis was the game that a lot of fans think that Jordan couldn't handle Magic, Jordan had 36 points 12 assists and 8 rebounds. The Bulls were leading by one in the closing seconds and lost on a Perkins three.

Man this takes me back to my childhood, I remember Michael missing that shot, the way it was almost all the way down and then back out and then pippen coming very close as well, and Magic setting up perk as soon as cartwright started to double, his shot stayed down.....but apparently this was just Chicago feeling them out cuzz they wete about to run them off the court in 4 straight after this.....

This is a great video and very fair, it shows the legends doing their thing. Michael Jordan was probably the most explosive in this finals out of all of them. He played flawless. Scottie pippen was also phenomenal and dynamic, those 2 were hungry and took care of business. Magic Johnson was also phenomenal and played excellent every game except game 2, let's be honest, he was the team for the Lakers, even in defeat he was still deadly and a major threat to the bulls, it's just that some key players on the Lakers were physically worn out from the playoffs in the wild west. Magic went through the Rockets(Olajuwon) the Warriors( run tmc Hardaway, Richmond, and Mullins) and the Trailblazers( Drexler) and then had to deal with a hungry rested GOAT(air Jordan and company) after they ran through the eastern conference with ease finally sweeping Detroit. So I give Magic all the credit in the world for how he played in this series, and all credit to Michael for winning his 1st championship!!! Your Mj videos are all great. Keep up the good work
After winning game 1 ,Lakers did not care about game 2 they just wanted to be rested for Game 3 back in LA since they have gotten homecourt advantage.If Worthy and Byron were healthy Lakers would have won the series.

Worthy played well in game 1 but the Lakers only won by 2 and that's because of a late missed shot that rimmed in and out by MJ. MJ admitted that his team was nervous in game 1 being their first ever Finals but that changed in game 2---Worthy couldn't prevent what happened there. MJ hit 13 consecutive FGs while going 15 for 18. Lastly, Pippen fouled out in game 3 but MJ was able to send it to OT and pull out the victory.

Magic and Bird were better team players and passers. MJ blew this game by trying ti make the final shot. They were not selfish. Lakers needed Kareem. MJ was in his prime and Magic wasn't. Scotty Pippen could of been a huge player like Jordan but he wouldn't challenge Jordan on who got the most shots. Jordan was an amazing shooter though.
It was great shot. He knew how to make space for himself so he didnt have to rely on his team late as much as the other two did. Why would you when he was also the best shooter in the clutch. Both Magic and Bird recognise Jordan as a greater player than themselves.
Lakers didnt need Kareem. He hadnt been of much value in his last few seasons. Divac was good enough and better than Cartwright. Two teams were evenly matched but Jordan was the difference both on defensive (playing magic majority of the series and limiting him) and offensive sides. By game 2 all the nerves were gone and Jordan never looked back.

@@Moon-pz6ox well Dream & Glyde never faced Jordan in the finals. Clyde by Himself did. And Jordan's team was better than Clyde's, as was well as Barkley's. The '93/94 Rockets possibly could've beaten Chicago due to Dream being just as good a center as Jordan was a shooting guard. That's possibly the only 1 team with 1 all time player that could beat them due to Dream, having Oris Thorpe being able to neutralize Horace Grant, but especially a young Robert Horry being able to contain Pippen and making Jordan deal with a tough defending Vernon Maxwell. A young, athletic, *long* Robert Horry was the key.
A healthy full squad Lakers team that Finals would have won it in 6 or 7.

So this is the game that Shannon Sharpe/Nick Wright/whoever would have you believe “yeah Magic put that little triple double on MJ’s head had to put Pippen on him) Magic had 4 field goals in this game. 4. 6:42 guarded by Pippen. 7:28 guarded by Pippen. 7:40 a heave from 28 feet at the end of the quarter guarded by MJ. 9:23 guarded by Will Perdue. 1 field goal guarded by MJ a last second heave. The only stats that went negative for Magic was rebounds. He had 10 boards game 1 (MJ gave up 0 offensive rebounds to Magic all 10 were defensive) Magic’s rebounds went down after game 1. Points stayed the same assists went up turnovers went down. So if Magic put up the same points with more assists while giving up less turnovers after game 1 how did the Bulls lose game 1?? Pippen Grant Paxson and Cartwright shot a combined 16 from 42 from the field game 1. The Bulls lost game 1 because the Bulls supporting cast were nervous as hell and played fairly poorly and shot even worse. If you’re still willing to believe that the Bulls lost this game because of MJ’s inability to stop Magic then not only are you happy to eat whatever some of these media personalities feed you but even when you know it isn’t true you’re still happy to attempt to feed it to other people. Again Magic after game 1 assists went up turnovers went down and he only scored 1 field goal on MJ game 1 anyway.

Agreed with Michaels offensive performance and Scotties lack there of but if you recall in game two I believe the adjustment was made to put Pippen on Magic and even pick him up full court. Mike had his hands full on defense so had to switch on to Byron Scott and at times AC Green which he could do especially when Worthy got hurt

watching this game, it blows my mind how many people think Magic is better than Steph and Mj is better than LeBron. It should be criminal for someone to blurt that out on any platform or even verbally for that matter. Outside of no look passing, Magics game looks Rec League-ish. MJ was clearly the best athlete on the floor. His cross over was pretty basic, his handles all together were pretty basic, he has about 2 dribbles with his left hand before hes picking the ball up. I saw nothing here showing me that Mj is a better baller than LeBron. This Bulls team would get mopped up by the 07 Cavs.

The one who scored 29 of Clevelands final 30 points including the teams last 25 points on 11-13 shooting in a double overtime game. Finished that game with 48 9 boards and 7 dimes...in 50 minutes. Bron lost to a dynasty in the finals. The Spurs wouldve been the only team to go 6-0 like the Bulls had it not been for LeBron. They ended up 5-1. Bron drug his team to the finals in his 4th year without another Star, all role players. Mj wouldve been getting mopped up in the first round and guys like u would slurp him off for it for decades to come.

You do know Cavs had a top defense that year ? You do know Spurs won by a margin of 6 points (2 possessions). You do know 3 of the 4 games were decided by single digits. You do know the Cavs defense held Duncan to 44%, that’s why their best player didn’t win fmvp. If lebron didn’t avg 22 on 35% with close to 6 turnovers & outscored Tony Parker, they would’ve won. Look how close it was with lebron playing like shit. But guess what, he doesn’t get no blame for that. Only his teammates as usual…
@@darrenreynolds7985 Learn your history. Players in the 70s and 80s were limited by the types of dribble moves they could do by the rules. In the 90s guys like Tim Hardaway, Iverson, Chris Jackson and others started popularizing it and the league saw it brought more entertainment to the game so they loosened up on the rules (mainly Iverson cuz he palmed the hell out of the ball...Hardaway's crossover was legal). Then came the And1 era in the late 90s early 2000s. But it starts with innovative players in the past. If these players came up today where a 5 year old can watch a youtube crossover tutorial of course they would play differently. You think its harder being the innovator or copying the blueprint that's already laid out for you? But anyways by today's standards Lebron's handles arent even all that and yet he's consistently the best or in today's case one of the best player's in the league. You don't need the flashiest or best handles to dominate the game

@@toryou6Magic was 32 but more like 35 ,9 Finals in really 11 years took its toll as he was nursing knee tendernitis ,hippointer and looked old and sluggish compare to previous years.Because Magic playmaking abilities tough,had Worthy and Scott been healthy ,I think the Bulls would have lost to the Lakers.That trio if healthy could have play at a high level for at least two more years then Magic ,Worthy and Scott should have retired on top.1993 would have been the start of the Bulls Dynasty!!
