    This weeks new DIY is LIVE!
    A more detailed (but still easy) way to make custom elf ears. If you don't have the tools or time to invest into making something like this then I uploaded a seriously easy version of how to make elf ears last week, it's also linked at the end of this video :)

      Could you possibly do Hylian (Legend of Zelda) ears as well? I can't find any tutorials anywhere :/

    Been watching numerous videos on making elf/Spock ears and I have to say it was so nice to hear your voice. It is soothing and your diction and presentation was flawless. Nice video btw. Thank you for your hard work. Trying to make the best ears for my budget (which by the way is almost nonexistent for now but should be better soon). Making ears and applying them with the color match can be very time consuming and expensive. I'm using the best points (within my budget) from all the videos to make my Spock ears. Might even make a video to to show the in's and out's, and all the mistakes. Wishing I had an interactive pair of extra hands to help. My wife thinks I'm nuts for spending so much time, money and energy, but Star Trek filled my life with much joy and I'm hoping to share some of that back when I finish my outfit. At least I'm hoping. haha Thanks again

    i don't have a technical ear mold but i do have a sculpt of my ear that's as accurate as i can get it without a mold. Will this still work?

    Would baby powder work to keep the latex from sticking?

    • @DabblingEmmaDoc
      @DabblingEmmaDoc Před 7 lety +1

      Nikita Woulfe yes it will. I use baby powder when I latex :)

    Are these reusable? Like, can you only use them once then have to throw them out, or can they be used multiple times?

    Wow awesome! Is this liquid latex? I don’t know anything about prosthetics but I just got some liquid latex to make my own ears for Halloween and I’m hoping it’s the right stuff

    • @saphiraxdragon
      @saphiraxdragon Před 7 lety +4

      Valhalla make sure you build up plenty of support around the bottom of the nightelf ears so they actually stay stuck to your ears? :)

  • @KamillaIsMyName
    @KamillaIsMyName Před 7 lety +1

    Do you need to add any mould release or vaseline before applying latex? Or can you apply straight onto the clay?

    • @Crazyredhead333
      @Crazyredhead333 Před 7 lety +1

      apply straight to the clay. Latex peels off relatively easy when using baby powder (or any other powder really) to keep it from sticking

  • @cybercapri

    So do you use the Latex ear piece as a MOLD to make other ear piece prosthetic's?

    • @rea6268
      @rea6268 Před 7 lety +1

      Paul Bialozor no, the latex goes straight on the ear (with a skin adhesive)

    A suggestions of how to do this for someone who has a latex allergy? Would gelatin work as a replacement, or would I have to go about this in a different way?

    • @emogirl10174
      @emogirl10174 Před 7 lety

      Trista McCorkle Gelatin would indeed work as a replacement. It is a little harder to work with though because of the quick dry down time and the stickyness. Another option is 3rd Degree, but it is quite pricy.
      Hope this helped :)

    • @ascarletmoon17
      @ascarletmoon17 Před 7 lety

      It did, thank you!

    • @emogirl10174
      @emogirl10174 Před 7 lety

      Remember if you use gelatin and it dries, you can always re-melt it and voila! Something 3rd degree can't do haha

      There's also a few kinds of sculpt gel that supposedly work pretty well. Also, you have wonderful English, so don't worry ^w^

    • @taesarnecky8986
      @taesarnecky8986 Před 6 lety

      Its a little pricier, but two part silicone would work. You just have to mix the two parts and let them dry. I’m also allergic to latex and I’ve found thats the easiest
