CZ 630 Air Rifle Tear Down - How It Works

  • We had an old CZ 630 air rifle that wasn't pushing pellets down the barrel. We took it apart to clean and grease then test fired in a bucket of water in slow motion. Filmed using an iPhone 11 Pro Max and a submerged GoPro Session 5. Comment if you'd like to see us shoot anything in slow motion...within reason of course.

....i have CZ 631!!..its the same mechanism!!...you are loosing air from the piston seal!!!...if you want to check that you have to push the piston forward from the one side and close with your finger the hole of the chamber at the other side !!...try to keep the piston forward for about 4-5 seconds to see if the piston finally goes down at the bottom of the compression chamber!!..if this happens you definately loosing air from the piston seal!!...when you replace the piston seal lubricate it also with 2 drops of silicon oil for extra tithness in the compression chamber!!

Very helpful, thank you for the tip. I did have fun out of curiosity tearing it down and putting it back together :)

You can remove the piece of metal from the trigger, it will become lighter to pull

Same issue with my first 630. It arrived yesterday from a well-vetted seller of a gun forum. Mine is near-mind condition. It was shot a little, years ago, then stored.
It appears that you only cleaned internal components before reassembling them.
Is there a preferred video which shows the techniques for the correct total reassembly? Some of them are in the Czech language....
I'm not at all new to guns (age 68) and recently bought a second FAL because I'm not a builder. Thank you or to anybody else for any good tips and recommendations.

So you don't need a spring compresser jig to remove the spring ?

I saw you can do it by hand but it is harder to do the assembly, to push it all back under the tension of the spring. You can even do it by your self, easier with help, easiest with the jig.
