- From having a stage show, to creating a set list, the work that goes into performing live and the difference between that and a studio recording.
Van Morrison's new album Three Chords and the Truth is available now, listen here vanmorrison.lnk.to/ThreeChord... - Hudba
I like these chats too, so natural between these two, Van and Leo. The more one does the better one gets is usually true.
Van seems very relaxed in these interviews with Leo! These are great !!!
In my opinion these interviews with Leo are best ones I’ve ever seen and heard before!
Bettie Mccall Yes definitely. Van seems to be relaxed and happy to answer the questions. Very good job 👍🏻
Yeah maybe Van responds to only the person interviewing him. I agree with Van-people are just too damn nosy!!! It’s all about the music! Maybe Leo brings out the best in him! 👍
Yes for sure. Some of the 70's are great too
I love him and his bday August 31 and mine is August 29th. I don't know why at 63yrs I've got to listening again. Just great music we had.
These interviews are great, the questions are intelligent and incisive. Van relaxed talking about his art and craft in a way he rarely has - thanks
Great interviews. They talk well together. Enjoyed hearing this.
i love van morrison..............stay healthy.....i have seen you in frisco..marin county....big respect to you.....infinite
No doubt on Van's views of Fame .....A dying breed, on His train, get on board if you like .
Went to see him about 2 months ago, he walked on stage to a standing ovation and didn’t say a god damn word the entire concert, not a single word, I wasn’t expecting much as I’d seen him 2 years before and all we got then was a “thank you” , he’s a miserable bastard, but would I go see him again? Absolutely :}
You've pretty well summed him up. I saw him live when he turned 70 and it was more or less the same experience you had. and yes I would go see him again. It's about the music for me and when it comes to Van Morrison's music I will always take the opportunity to see him live. It's a testament to how great his music is, that many people after experiencing his almost hostile personality, will go and see him live again. This incredibly talented, complex man is a musical legend and his concerts at the age of 74 are still sell outs. Go Well!
Most introverts create the best music.i dont think vans a miserable fuck as alot of people say he is.how could someone like that create such beautiful music? He only appears miserable to people that expect more than he can or wants to give of himself. The music is enough for me.🎼🎶🎵
Yes, yours is a common misinterpretation of the introverted personality.
This is hardly a revelation on Van`s personality. Who cares about that bullshit. I`ll take the quality music over false humour anyday. When Van laughs it is worth the laugh. Cut out the false laughter if you want to be taken seriously.
If I want to hear the performer talk, I'll go to a book reading.
Barely scratching the surface in this interview and its better than most I have seen over the years.
For Christ sake don`t be so hard on yourself over your Last Waltz performance, you only managed to blow the roof of the house BECAUSE you were in the moment and giving all the highlight of that great concert. Viva Van the Man.
I'm guessing the introverted Van is mortified at his (likely) coke-induced performance. Many sources including several of the artists themselves admit to the green room with ample supply for all. Neil Young's footage had to be carefully edited to avoid showing the obvious white clump of coke in his nose. When you compare Van's performance to any other in his career, this one was unique for its over the top flamboyance... not his natural style.
@@onqfilm It certainly worked on the night.
it's seen as one of the best live performances ever
Van's Last Waltz performance is revered by many. He really got into it. Especially Robbie's guitar playing on Caravan, seemed to spur Van on.
The legs kicks were tremendous !!! Van the Man stole the show what a performance.
Robbie Robertson had a similar effect on Mavis Staple on the Last Waltz!
@@christopherazoti1785 Agree! From the man who sang let it all hang out, loved it man, Van is the Man.
Brilliant
Great video thanks guys 👍❤️
Thanks
🤗🕵😎..but Mr. Van! as Prolly 'the last person to See Last Waltz!!..😁..it Added to 'Your Hotness factor'..lol. 🙂🤷..The Music...Extraordinary..🤷😎, imho.👍👍👍👍❤
A true dichotomy. One had to stay relevant.
Your commentary on the difference of being a performer as apposed to writing / recording is very close to my life sailing as apposed to building a boat. It is said that builders of boats make poor sailors, I have done both, but prefer sailing and listening to your music. God Bless.
Avalon sunset
Certainly not the kind of man who'd play hide and seek to please the audience and certainly to real a guy to do that in his personal life
The 3 best songwriters ever:
1- Dylan
2- Van Morrison
3- Bruce springsteen
It is so very silly to try to rank such things as best ever - They are YOUR three favorites.
I would replace Bruce Springsteen with Willie Nelson.
