  • With the colors changing and the weather cooling, we continue the fall harvest with another pumpkin-themed craft lesson with Mrs. Rebecca and the kids at Hardison Mill Homestead School.

It's "The One Room Schoolhouse" the whole world can fit in.
This educational project is launched in fall of 2020 and is designed to bring lessons out of our classroom and into your homes... and around the world. We have folks of all ages and stages who tune in to watch and learn alongside the students at Hardison Mill Homestead School. It runs daily for one hour (9am CT / 10am ET) and features a variety of guest teachers, lesson topics, and more!
Remember, school doesn't have to be in a building with teachers and desks. And we are ALL "life-long learners." School can happen anywhere YOU might be.
This program is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Dottie Frist Foundation, the Happy Davis Foundation, Heart Utilities, and viewers like you. To support the schoolhouse or the daily Schoolhouse Live! program

Miss Becca, you are truly a gift from God for those beautiful children. Do you have any kids of your own?

I am a kindergarten teacher, and after watching a couple of these videos, I conclude that Hardison Mill School is a strange experiment that provides pseudo-educational experiences that are not developmentally appropriate for the students involved. The teaching seems so disingenuous and bizarre. I appreciate the agricultural emphasis of the project but everything else about it seems very disconnected from real life and devoid of effective teaching strategies.
