Not sure if you can answer this but how do I ask to go from full time to part time during training with my new employer? I just recently accepted their offer like 3 weeks ago ! 😩 We are supposed to transition after training to go in office and now I am unable to go in office full time . I’ve only been training for two weeks . Sounds too soon I know but I did over hear a conversation another student had with our teacher during class about a virtual position but they told us to speak to our manager/supervisor about it . I guess if they don’t have a position for me I would have to resign ? I’m confused on what do to and how the manager will respond . I want to do this the right way . Any advice on how I should approach this would be appreciated.
Hi Grace, that's a difficult situation indeed! You should inform them as soon as possible. If it's your mistake, I'd apologize for your misunderstanding and if you don't know whose mistake it is, you can address the inconvenience followed by your willingness to find a suitable solution. Give them some alternatives and if they don't offer other possibilities or solutions, then you probably need to resign. It's best to be transparant, clear and effective in your communication. @@RDelescen I sent the the e-mail, kinda of f'ed myself cuz now I can't collect unemployment from the state of Illinois. I gave them what they wanted. But I freed myself myself civilized. Thanks
