- You might think that if breast cancer has spread to your lymph nodes that it is no longer curable, but that's not true.
The lymph nodes in your armpit are part of the breast. If your cancer has spread there, it means that you have a higher risk of your cancer coming back in the future - BUT you will have more treatment - like surgery or radiotherapy to the armpit, chemotherapy etc to reduce the risk of this happening

you're welcome! Glad you found me
Thank you for this valuable information!!!! 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Dr. Liz for this brief but very assuring explanation. I just a lumpectomy yesterday and removal of the sentinel lymp nodes. I am Stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Progesterone/estrogen positive and Hers2 Negative. Will be waiting on pathology to see if lymp nodes are clear or not. This info puts me more at ease.
Thank you doctor 👩⚕️ it’s relieving video
Dr,Liz,I really appreciate your informative video God bless you
Thank you Dr. for the information. God bless you❤
My pleasure
Hi liz, what if you have spread to apical nodes? Thanks x
Madam I have Axillary Lymph nodes in my brest.. Is it Cancer or not? Please reply
Why are mine missing or appear to have chunks missing
Mam, my mom had her mammogram done. The result is grade 5 lesion with axillary lymphadenopathy. She also got her ultrasound abdomen done which shows enlarged lymph nodes associated with the liver. Is the enlarged lymph nodes in liver serious or associated with breast lump. She is yet to have biopsy done
Please help with this weird situation. My mum is 79 yo. She has growth on her breast , biopsy done and no malignancy. Then she did biopsy on her axilary lymph node, she was told that she has matastase carsinoma stage 2. Does she need to remove her breast and do radiation or chemo?
Could the under arm lymph nodes pain is due to hormone fluctuation? I got this underarm pain before my period.
So scary
😔
My mother diagnosed with such type of cancer
And i lost her at very young age
So sorry for your loss
How do you come to know that this is cancer.. because I have pain in armpit area...I have done ultrasound...in that report it is shown swollen lymph node and now it is painful .I am 26 years old . What to do now?
@@nehamaan1630 go to doctor immediately
I don’t know what I have but it is painful.
I’m sorry
Ty
I started to juice celery cucumber XL ginger and Dikon radish and the sharp pain went away, with no shooting down the legs. Now it’s a bareable dull pain. No pain around armpits anymore.
My friend told me she has arthritis in the neck and causes sharp pain in the shoulder from working as a domestic. She can’t raise her arms so high.
Get it checked out
I have lymph nodes that size of pea and it's tender and hurt to touch. It's been a week now. It doesn't change nor gets bigger. But my breasts were okay.
it went away? did you get a response? I'm in the same situation, but I don't have cancer.
Doctor, can a lymph node drainage massage help spread cancer cells if the lymph node has metastasized with BC?
If you have had the lymph nodes removed, it is safe to have a normal massage but I would be wary about someone wanting to massage that armpit
Can you discuss the option for someone who is estrogen negative, progesterone positive and HER2 negative
I have done a video on triple negative breast cancer if you look back through my videos
Sorry for my ignorance but given that progesterone is positive, is it still deemed to be triple negative?
@@user-wr4yl7tx3wit is considered and treated as TNBC. There is no treatment for progesterone positive BC.
Mam its been 1 year of my surgery i m only 25 so i just want to know after removing lymph nodes from armpit...numbness is for life time?
Yes
It’s more likely to spread in the future 😢oh no…
I know. It can be scary
I am only grade 2.
My assumed that only sentinel nodes would be taken for testing.
They were zero but no the teaching hospital went on and on and on for what reason. I will never know I was still T0.
NIL NO NODES INVOLVED.
Now I have lympoedema
(It's a chronic illness)
Permanent right arm has permanent nerve damage I live on Gabapentin.
I now can't work live independently.
Pins n needles in my hand, everyday.
My life is now diminished to that of an 80 plus year old.
Yet it wasn't discussed
Does this type of 1984 surgery only take place in 3rd rate hospitals in north east UK.?
I will never now return to any check ups there
I'm so sorry. The standard practice should be to check the sentinel nodes of every invasive cancer, regardless of the grade. Sadly even a sentinel node op carries the risk of lymhpoedema and every person should be consented for that
@@DrLizORiordan you don't understand they did an old school clearance of all the other nodes too.
Sent me home with no breast care nurse advice they have none. Like Road Kill
Thankfully I thought I was going to get pearls of wisdom at the appt prior which I demanded. Nothing arrogant silence, & since entering the hospital it feels like I've stepped back into the 1930s. Contempt, being shouted at and I don't believe they even like women.
It's a time warp, never in my life have I felt such misogyny towards female patients except in hospital. Luckily I had new app for breast cancer recorded everything from Mr Shouty with his clipboard
Those glasses are BAD AZZ!!!!😮❤❤❤
