Pyro,Pathfinder, and Mana are the mids in my bag and i can't recommend those enough! Pyro is one of my favorite disc to throw now!
Another very good one from Latitude 64 - the Fuse. The flight numbers are listed as 5/6/-1/0 and it flies true to the numbers. Mine is a nice bright yellow. The disc makes me smile every time I throw it.
One thing I love is that I have the Fuse in 3 different plastics all roughly the same weight, and they all fly extremely similar.
I will bang the table for the Clash Berry. Best 5/5/-1/1 I’ve ever thrown.
My favorite discovery of 2024, hands down. Got a used Steady Berry that is dominating my disc selections rn.
Personally I’ve got to vote for the reactor, but my brother throws a sunny berry so well that I’m convinced it’s a 12 speed. It feels like he uses it 15+ times a round no matter what course we play. I can see how this would be a top choice.
Just a heads up, the Claymore is the midrange in this year's Trilogy Challenge. if you have an event near you it is a cool way to get one. Also, the Remix Creature is another option for that Lobster/Peace Train slot. 5,5,-3,1 and feels the same, just cheaper..
I'm personally a fan of the MVP UPLINK in the neutron soft plastic.
Nice to see Claymore getting some love! I own two and have aced with both.
I guess by "Should Try" you're assuming that we've already thrown the Buzz, BuzzSS, Mako3, Roc, MD1, and Hex.
You would be right, haha.
But as an overstable boy, I really like a Verdict.
Once again we are here advocating for the EMac Truth. That is all. Good day.
I second this
One of my favorite discs
I carry 2, and a regular Truth. Hand feel on all EMac stuff is a big deal for my 9" hands.
EMac Judge vs. a regular Judge is a HUGE difference. Shallower and a Microbead
Found a emac truth recently and it's become my favorite disc so I'll second this
RPM Mid ranges are 🔥 - Kotuku (or white heron if you’re Drew Gibson) is straight with a bit of fade and Piwakawaka for a high glide turning or hyzer flips. Plus the kea is one of those borderline approach/mids at 4 speed but soooo versatile and they love the wind, perfect for forehand approaches
For beginners (folks like myself under 320ft max), these are great. I'll state I have a preference for more shallow discs though.
Overstable: Nord, Justice, Roc3 (Halo)
Neutral: Fuse/Hex (165g)
Flip up Neutral: Peach/Bearkat/Detour (take your pick, I prefer Detour for hand feel)
Understable: Uplink
Long turn understable: Paradox/Rollo
Understable mids- uplink and detour.
Neutral- hex and reactor.
Overstable/stable- this is the one I think you should try- RPM Kotuku. Love this disc.
Element is a great disc. I bagged one for awhile. Found it a touch less stable than numbers suggested, but I liked the flight. I remain convinced Gateway's run by plastics nerds that make discs as a means to support their plastic hobby, rather than disc nerds that had to learn plastics.
I still think the Reactor's actually the best mid out there, though, especially once you get one seasoned.
Others that are great for beginners.
Overstable Roc3 (Halo Plastic)
Neutral: Fuse
Flip up Neutral: Detour/Bearcat/Peach (take your pick, my favorite is the Detour)
Understable Uplink
Very understable for soft throws or east turns: Paradox/Rollo
I like the Kastaplast Göte a lot. 2 of my 4 aces are with a Göte. The only downside of K1 plastic is that dye tends to fade on it.
Been on my Mvp Matrix for over a year love it at that -1/2 especially in wooded areas
I am a diehard L64 Fuse fan. It rewards touch and finesse so much, but can handle the power. Looking for an actually straight flight with no fade out to around 275ft, buy Fuse.
Trash Panda Dune!!! Feels super nice and holds any line you but on it. Throw it in hyzer and it will always flip up to flat! Super underrated disc
I bag a Mint Discs Bobcat sometimes. Seems like the Lobster is its opposite. I will give it a try. Thanks. Currently looking for a mid to for that slot. Great timing with this.
Nice that claymore is one of my favorites was pumped too see it on here
Soooooo anyone try the MVP Detour yet? Because yeah, its awesome.
Love my Mana by TSA. Think they are similar
Just a buzzz ss
@gryn20117 I really wanted to love the Buzz SS. I even got it in my favorite plastic from discraft with the ESP FLX. I just cant get the Buzz SS or Buzz to work for me.
The Detour is money though. Same goes for the Bearkat from Lonestar.
Good video again! I might suggest that the Thought Space Mana is comparable/the same/better(?!) than the Lobster and the Peace Train. I have bagged all three, and I have never thrown more consistently good shots than with the Mana.
Midnight Prowl 2 is an amazing flip up flat disc.
I also have a 2020 tour series Paige Pierce glow buzz and oh my lord it is absolute moneeyyy hope I never lose it
Y'all should try some Prodiscus. The Stari is a nice flippy 4 speed, Midari is essentially a Warship/Atlas, Laseri is a neutral/slightly understable 9 speed.
Definitely this - 👍. They cover all of the needed slots for a simple bag. Plus, their plastics beat in very well. Such an underrated brand:
-jokeri is phenomenal
-stari - reminds me of innova coyote
-midari - somewhat similar to a roc
-flipperi - roadrunner kind of flippy
-titan - firebird or felon
-razeri - destroyer/force
The laseri looks rad - but i haven’t had the chance to test it. Methinks i need to look into that 👍
Mako 3. I will die on this hill. lol my favorite is my gstar, then my 2 star plastic in different state of wear, and a champion to beat the wind. Great suggestions tho i need to try the claymore!
Love you guys. How many times have you made this same video?
mvp hex or doomsday despair in shockwave plastic both are great
I bag a despair and it is the most straight thing in my bag!! I am also at altitude in CO so I’m sure it’s flippy at lower altitude but where I am is great for laser shots
Props to yall for throwing some trilogy at #1 😎 go try a Westside gatekeeper!
YES I LOVE THIS DISC
I'd swap the Lat 64 Trust into this Top 5 somewhere.
I'm curious to see what y'all would think of the Yikun Zheng. I'd pick it up in Pheonix and Tiger Plastic. Yikun has some solid molds at some of the most affordable prices. Y'all should check them out. If you need help with some selections let me know I'd be happy to help recommend a few discs.
I love a Mint Bobcat for my O/S slot and Lobster for U/S
Lat64 Fuse, or Kastaplast K1 Svea would be my options.
I've tried so hard to like the Archive. It's just not gonna happen. Not because it's a bad disc, it just doesn't vibe with me. Something about it, I either hold onto it too long and rip it over or release it too early because I'm scared of griplocking. Then when I do get a decent release on it the flight just seems odd. It's like it has 1 or 2 glide not 5. I've kept it in the bag because I want to like it and don't have a good replacement overatable mid right now but I don't think it's gonna work for me.
Latitude 64 Core is my go to mid.
The Element is an air igniter - Gateway is a sleeper cell - the sleeper must awake
No straight flying mids like innova mako, mvp hex or discraft buzz? Kind of strange list, i would recommend only 1 of these and that is claymore.
Yikun Zheng is way underrated
The md3 is the greatest midrange ever made. It is the gold standard.
I want to try a Bex🤣
Pyro, Meteor, Pathy
Royal supreme Trust and Mint Bobcat
Serious question, is there an underlying reason Lone Star doesn’t make any of your lists? They have solid plastic and very comparable discs toALL of your lists. I know Reid doesn’t like the feel of the Ranger, so I get that..but Fairways, Mids, and drivers they have a solid line up…much greater than Mint and Clash. I am 100% biased, I get that, but at this point it seems intentionally discriminatory. I would love to come out to you guys with a line up and throw a round. I will even give you discs.
West side gatekeeper on top
The fact the Prodigy M4 and Discraft Buzzz are at least not honorable mentions is ludacris
They’ve given the Buzz a lot of love in past content. They must just be trying to let people know to try some other stuff.
The Buzzz has been tried by probably 95% of disc golfers, so they don’t even need to mention it.
Just adding new spice to the sketti bro
Bobcat.
RPM Kotuku
Claws up🦞
Trash Panda Dune. Straight and reliable
My fav midranges are the BB6 and the wombat3
i can't take this seriously xD no roc? no coyote? no innova made MD3?
