Crossley is an excellent story teller and his Cloughie impressions are right on the nose!
Sh*thouse :D loved cloughie
I am a Derby fan and I enjoyed that. I love to hear stories about Mr Clough. He was one in a million
From a Forest fan with Derby fans for family. I hope for a swift return for the rams from League 1 this season.
I'm a boro lad and grew up on the same estate, hes revered in Middlesbrough, total legend. We need more Brian clough's in this snowflakey world
@@natureisallpowerful there was no 7.45 kicks offs then on a saturday night they are all made up Dean Saunders tells 1 and Alan Hill as publicly slammed him for it and said none of it happened it was at Alan Hills house Clough was stone cold sober and dressed in a suit and the funny bits Saunders said Hill said never happened I watched Jan Molby speaking at some cricket club on youtube he told the exact same to word stories about Ian Rush id already seen Neil Razor Ruddock tell about Jason Mcateer the cut my pizza in 4 cos I won't ever eat 8 and I best buy 2 bags of ice in case in 1 melts now I don't believe any of them said that but obviously Rush and Mcateer obviously never both said it but according to Molby and Ruddock they did
Cloughy was so good at Derby County, fine manager and Side. The Rams were Great. Good Luck for The Rams this season and for promotion.
He was a alco
OMG, that was hilarious. I am 63 and I remember cloughie like it was yesterday, what a character, he made football interesting.
When he went to Forest he said something like "not only will we win you the league but we will catch you Robin Hood aswell".....🤣🤣
Wish he stopped at leeds he should have been England manager
But he only cared about drink
@@pkune5158 Do you feel good chipping in with a swipe about alcohol? You obviously don't have the intelligence to understand the complexities of alcoholism. I hope you feel like a proper big man. Pat in the back for you.
Clough was a genius, pure class!
Brian Clough was a legend, but what a character Mark Crossley is. He was a great goalkeeper, and as a die hard Forest fan I think he was the second best keeper we ever had after Peter Shilton. He made some bloopers but oh my word, did he pull off some absolute world-class saves against some phenomenal opposition.
Nobody tells these Cloughie stories better than big Mark and his impressions are superb. Could listen to the big man all day. Cloughie was a total one off but his record speaks for itself. And Mark was a very fine goalkeeper in his day. 👏👏
I can't get enough of MC's stories and impressions of Cloughie. Top drawer and never fails to make me laugh.
Clough was definitely a special kind of genius and despite some of the more "cruel" stunts he pulled on his players, they still speak very fondly of him.
The best manager the UK has ever produced full stop. I am a life long Wolves fan and how I wish we'd had the privilege of him managing us. RIP Mr. Clough.
Mark relates these Clough stories with so much humility. I can listen to his raconteuring all day.
I'm a Fulham fan. Brian Clough is the best manager England never had. All down to the suits at the FA!
That's exactly my thought on that, well said, " Now listen here young man" always remember him saying those words too.
Well said I totally agree
I agree
Clough also insulted the Head of the FA as he walked into FA headquarters. Which might have had something to do with him not getting the job.
Lol so stupid
I’m a gooner for my sins , but I miss the Cloughie days and that era , what a great team
they had .
YOU JUST PROVED HE WAS A DRUNK
@@billsamuls7620 your a clown

Cloughie !! My dad always told me the Best manager England never had. Which was criminal. RIP SIR
Best manager ever, brutal, honest, football first, everyone's dad with a huge sense of humour, he kept people humble.
Lol you mad it was drink first
Mark's fantastic impressions of Mr Clough make me laugh out loud every time!
I had Brian’s brother stay at my guesthouse he was a pure gentleman salt of the earth
I could listen to stories about Cloughie all day. Just wish I could’ve met the Legend himself.
I have zero interest in football (loved it when I was 8, had trophies and all that crap) but absolutely love Brian Clough - a real human being - this was amazing. Mark Crossley missed his calling as an impressionist, what a champ! This was a right laugh from start to finish, an absolute joy.
A real alco
"I wont call you shithouse because Barbara is here". love that.
Very modest man Mr Clough was UNIQUE once in a lifetime MAN lot of respect for him
Whenever I saw Brian Clough on tv, I was always impressed by his obvious intelligence and honesty. This is the first time I have heard anyone else talk about him. Thank you. Great stories.
Listen to Cloughie besides most of the other managers, an absolute breath of fresh air.
Liverpool fan and I idolise cloughie. The man along with Peter Taylor were pure magic and the respect and success they achieved you have to acknowledge never mind who you support. Sadly we’ll never see the likes again as football now is all dirty money, corrupt owners and managers who squander billions and they are not fit to lace cloughis boots. God bless you Brian and Peter you were a a pain to my club but they were great days.
Cloughie gave a few brown envelopes.
Forest fan here...well said mate
I got to the end of this and just started chuckling at the notion of Clough giving 19-year-old Crossley the nickname Shithouse. Hahahaha. Imagine playing for the man, that atmosphere. You'd play your heart out for a man like that, out of pure terror!
Clough was a genius with human relationships …that unique blend of humour authority and mystique which can get people to do what they wouldn’t normally do ….always sensing what was the approach which would get results .( I only experienced this magic once in my working life )
What a tragedy the drink got him in the end …..nice if we could still be feeding from his wisdom
As a Scotsman I loved Clough.
I was also delighted when he was never offered the England job.
He really was a one off.
Wolves fan. Totally love this. We had some great men in the east and west midlands back then.
Have lots of respect for Foest, Derby, Leicester, Stoke, Brum, Albion etc. We've all sufferered the championship for far too long whilst London and the North West have had all the money and the glory.
Mark is a great storyteller of Cloughie's antics....brilliant stuff.
What an entertaining 10 minutes...smiled all through it.
I met Mark in the bar after Arsenal played Forest at the City Ground. Dave Bassett was the manager then (don’t get me started on that) and Mark wasn’t playing in the first team - Beasant being preferred. He was a lovely man and I thought a much better keeper than Beasant. Great to hear his stories. He will always be a Forest legend.
He had a bad back injury all that season
I could listen to stories about Cloughie all day long,I’m so glad to have watched Football in that era,can you imagine him being around in today’s game?
Glad you enjoyed Andy!
Same here...best manager ever
A one off, the great Brian Clough, sadly missed, what a man
I love listening to these Clough stories. It also helps that Crossley does a good impression
A good friend of mine told me a story about when his friend was in the Nottingham hospital, and
in the next bed was Brian clough's brother.
After Brian had visited his brother a couple if times, the next time he visited he marched the team up the ward, as my mates friend was a Forrest fan.
He just could not believe his eyes when he saw them all there with Brian.
Cloughy was a one off, someone very very special.
Forest has 1 R dude not 2
Top lad is Mark.
Loved his brief spell at Wednesday, especially that goal.
Hoyland legend.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant to hear from a UTD fan, like Crossley down to earth simplicity
Glad you enjoyed Ravi!
Best England manager we never had, legend 👍👍👍
I love to hear these stories. I have no affiliations with any club that Sir Brian managed but what an absolute genius and legend this man is.
All this from a time where supporters could actually relate to footballers.
Tales of this nature are now a thing of the past. Modern footballers can only tell stories of how they demanded 200k a week before turning out for the.junior team, behaved like brats in pre school & shagged their team mates birds.
Woke up this morning to this , honestly that story has made my day, I’m a life long Leeds fan but I’ve always loved Brian Clough and read most of his books but that story with the £50 fine 😂 Brilliant..Thankyou ❤
If anyone here hasn’t listened to the Dean Saunders story about how Brian Clough signed him up then you’re missing a gem. I couldn’t breathe through laughing…cloughie was a comedy genius!!
I hope Forest bring out their 2 Euro cups n do a Cloughie tribute for his whole family on pitch as celebrations before first match back in Prem! Imagine the noise n buzz, first game win in the bag no matter who it is! I'm excited n I'm a Villa Fan! Welcome back Forest! 👍🙏😎
Yes, from a day when any club could win these trophies. And I'm a utd fan. Bring back Saturday 3pm. Fk sky, it's for the fans isn't it.
@@nigelthompson1058 You're a NO FAN. United, which one, knobhead ?
I'm a Derby fan and this absolutely brilliant. Mark comes across a top guy and Cloughie a legend of course. Great stuff Robin 👍
He was a fantastic keeper at the Boro...when we actually played.
Made up Forrest are back in top flight, one of the great English sides, Mark Crossley was a really good goalie from what I remember.. Cloughie proper legend
Don't call us Forrest as we are FOReST!! Just the 1 'R' Thankyou 🔴🌳
@@forestranger5408 sorry was a predicted text error, ✌️
Those were wonderful stories. I only have to hear "Now then young man" and I'm in stitches already. Growing up in Ireland I was a Man Utd fan since I was 6 years old in 1968 because of George Best and my friends were all fans of Arsenal, West Ham, Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea but the Forest team of the late 70s became everybody's second favourite team. I still hope for the days when they will be challenging for the Premier League title again. Winning two European Cups, what an achievement. Cloughie was a once-off, for sure. Imagine calling a 19-year-old player "Shithouse" today, and the £50 fine! Sports psychologists wouldn't know where to start with that one!
I love Mark Crossley reminiscing about these great Cloughie stories. Cloughies goal scoring record as a player was exceptional, but to win two league titles and then two European cups with unfashionable teams is an incredible achievement which will never be challenged.
Nothing but ultimate respect for Brian Clough, a true original, a one off character………..I’m a Chelsea fan by the way for the past 55 years.
One league title!
@@garymacdonald7165 First Division - Derby 1971-2 & First Division - Nottingham Forest 1977-78
I make that two, but thanks for your input 🤦♂️
@@BazzerObama Obviously I thought you were talking about Nottingham (not Notts Forest)only! p.s. Dave McKay won the league with Derby as well! Clough compared to Ferguson is a farce!
@@garymacdonald7165 Alec Ferguson is the only man who can be considered a parallel of the God Clough.
@@garymacdonald7165 you havin a laugh?? Clough was a better man manager than Ferguson could only dream of and he did it on the quarter of the budget its Like Fergie taking a club like Plymouth, winning the league then winning the league Cup 4 times, the CL 2,
Simod/ZDS 2 and the European super cup 1. On a shoestring budget. Fergie wouldn't have had a clue where to start. Plus I bet you don't even go to OT just another bandwagon supporter following the glory 🔴🌳
Crossy's Cloughy is very impressive. Saw the Iron and Pearce story on another post... Coffee spit laughter. 🤣🤣
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brian Clough would have had Paul Pogba crying in his boots.
Whilst playing Sunday league! 😆
@@kevr4698 definitely.
@@garyowens1517 so true this comment 🤣 and I would loved to have seen it
@@leejones6286 me too. I've been a utd fan for 54 years and can honestly say I wasn't sorry to see Pogba go. Clough would have eaten him up on toast
Clough would of told Pogba to leave the club.
Hi Mark a absolutely brilliant summing up of Brian Clough probably had no coaching certificates born winner I'm glad you made the grade it must have been meant for you Thanks
I played golf in Portugal some years back and sat near some gentlemen of an older age.......I was by my self and could here what they were talking about-their days when they played football with 'Alex Ferguson' I could of sat there all night listening to them, shame I didn't get chance to buy them a drink as my lift turned up. Great stories from videos such as this.
Modern footballers would be shaking in their boots with their agents running away from Clough
Clough would never deal with agents one to one with the player.
haha top stories. i like crossley, he was born 10 miles from where i live and his penalty save record has got to be the best of any keeper in history. he even saved a matt le tissier penalty, nobody else ever did.
From a Derby fan, Cloughie was a legend as a player but more so as a man manager.
Brilliant Young Man!
Growing up in Ireland ther was allways something special about the City Ground and Clough in the dug out #Match of the day when my da use to let me stay up #great times
Clough stories never disappoint.
I worked in a top class hotel in a city where the 1st division visiting teams and staff would always stay on match weekend. Cloughy enjoyed using the 5 star fine dining restaurant for dinners with plenty of booze thrown in and once in Wellington boots .legend 😆🙏
Forest back in the big time....not even a fan but I'm delighted.... fantastic fans.like the bloke above said....they need to bring out the two European cups with the Clough family front and center
I'm a lifelong West Ham fan but loved Clough, we'll never see his like again
His son Nigel has his likeness if that’s any good
Brilliant stories from a great player about a great manager !
Great Goalkeeper Mark Grossley for Nottingham forest in his day.
Well played there, Mark. Do'nt know ya, but ya sound genuine.
"Dogshit and broken glass all over the pitch"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
What a brilliant interview that was! 😂😂
Man cloughie was a one off a maverick.
Know wonder he never got the england job can you imagine Bert mills hip,ted Crocker old fogies of the FA.
Top man mark crossly and I am old enough to remember he very well.well done
Al from brisbane , great laugh was fortunate to meet Mr Clough in Australia wot a man
He's bloody good at telling stories is mark 😂😂😂
Only goalkeeper to save a Matt le tissier pen
Funny story I saw Matt Le Tissier miss a penalty in a charity game and the guy who saved it was coincidently Mark Crossley!
@@dilksjoel Also only the second man to save a penalty in an FAcup final after Dave Bessent for Wimbledon vs Liverpoo 🔴🌳

Absolute Legend Cloughie, grew up when he was at Forest. Never be another Cloughie...

I'm not really into football but I really appreciate seeing this video as I have a lot of respect for Brian he seems like a good guy
Absolute Legend Long Live The King
I love that ringer story! Even on repeat its so funny every time. Got all the Brian Clough books
I think Nigel Clough was playing for that side at the time.
Born in 1990 West Ham fan obsessed with Brian cough the man could’ve been anything film star politician anything exhumed class and confidence
Would love to hear from Mark again Chippers, it was my favourite interview of yours on this channel.

Morning Chippers! What a buzz there is around this city at the moment! Tuesday is the biggest game in several generations 🤞
I reckon so too… it’s like a play-off semi-final, but with so much more at stake!
Bless you Mark ...I saw you play against us (Tottenham) several times....Just great to hear stories from the inside of the only manager I rate above the awful man that is |Fergie.
Magic absolute magic
Great story teller.. much obliged..
Brilliant stories
Absolutely love these Cloughie stories and Crossley is brilliant at telling them , was fortunate enough to have the great man see me play in a friendly for King's Lynn against Forest back in 89 and just knowing he was sat in the stands was spine tingling for me as a Forest fan. John Sheridan played in that game , don't think he made another appearance for us. Forest won 5-0 , Lee Chapman hat-trick. Was something to do with Steve Sutton's testimonial year i think.
Couldn't agree more! Think you’ll like this too…. czcams.com/video/e2dXDKzN8EE/video.htmlsi=Mw7CDr5a-5Epg3Nn
I dare anyone to go and look at his stats while he played. Absolute baller.
I loved BC as a manager. As an Aston Villa fan I only have the greatest respect for the man that would have been the best England manager ever
Mark Crossley is hilarious
LOVE that Cloughie knew how to put people in their place. BEST EVER MANAGER, without ANY doubt
Cloughie could have been one of the best England forward of all time but he broke his leg. So he had no time for primadonnas. Anyone who did not try he had no time for.
He also was a wise man. He put the wise in Dennis.
Brilliant stories.
Brilliant. Thank you.

What great story's,what a legend cloughie was
The greatest manager ever
Is he greater than the guy who managed the moon landing?
Hi , ive just watched this , Great vlog really funny , by the way im a life long Ram , 62 years , i can remember Cluffy coming to Derby , , The Very Best , him and Peter Taylor , S...t....e Crossley Great keeper for a red . Tim
Brilliant ,loved that
Clough was a tough guy but also very, very human.
Great interview, telling it as it is, non of this bloody pc crap.
Quite appropriate, one of my best mates played under Cloughie at Derby, so I’ve had a few insights & amusing anecdotes. What Ricky did say is that Taylor was the real football brains behind their success but Cloughie cud man manage. But, boy, was he a character. unforgettable and not a nasty man, from the stories I’ve been told he enjoyed the banter and he had to be his way. Pity there aren’t more individuals like him this is the age of zero Charisma, he definitely had it.
I loved the story of Wee Archie running the line, i came close to playing alongside him when he was at St Mirren, I played for a provincial club & they were approached by a scout for St Mirren to see if they wud release me for trials with them but the club wouldn’t agree. That’s another side of football I’m afraid. The club was approached by scouts from other senior clubs in Scotland & also Woolwich Arsenal & Millwall. But we’re intent on keeping a hold of me. I was a goalkeeper. Loved the Goalkeeping, still do.
Brian Clough said something like he was "the shop window" and Peter Taylor was "the goods in the back". These days managers/head coaches have media training hence the lack of memorable quotes from press conferences. He did make some errors in signing players, notably Justin Fashanu but so does every manager.
Brilliant
