Great song, but it should always be played live. It’s paired with the song “Traveling Man” and is a rock radio classic. Give them a listen together sometime. It’s truly amazing.
A hundred times yes! Agree 💯
Heck yeah! That duo pairing on Live Bullet is a one-two gut punch.
best transition of two live songs ever
I agree💯
This is a MUST!!!
I've heard this song a million times, but never this version. I've always heard the Live version, which is better...but this is good. It's Bob Seger...c'mon, the man is never bad!
I always prefer the studio versions except for this song. I completely agree with you. The live version has so much more energy with this song😊
I was thinking the same thing !
In his prime, he was such a force of nature live.
Gotta do the live! ❤
Live Bullet was such a great album. It was the next one after this one and before Night Moves. They really captured a moment.
As others have said, the version of this song in combination with "Travelin' Man" off the Live Bullet album is even better.
It's the version you most hear on the radio and it's rare to hear an artist's live versions on the radio over their studio version, so that says how good the live version really is.
You should do the Traveling Man/Beautiful Loser medley on the Live Bullet album.
Absolute must. Best ever. But, I love these 2 ❤s heard this!!
Yes that version is so much better definitely recommend that live version is amazing!!
Gotta
This, my absolute favorite by Bob Seger.
When I listen to this , I listen to the pairing on Live Bullet. I have that on vinyl.
Bob has a live "Travelin' Man/Beautiful Loser" medley that should have been given the nod here.
"The Famous Final Scene " and "Till It Shines" are two very underrated songs by him.
Famous final scene is his best written song
Till it shines…. Awesome song. Another underrated one is Sunburst imo
Absolutely love Famous Final Scene.
Famous Final Scene is a great song, was my class song back in the day.
Both of these songs were recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section for his band just like the version of Beautiful Loser that they reacted to today.
Bob never gets old. He's a national treasure. I know exactly what he's talking about in this song.
Bob ... national treasure..Damn Skippy he is!
I raise a glass to both you're comments, this song means ALOT to me & brings back a lot of sentimental, nostalgic, bittersweet thoughts & memories, I'll turn it full blast when listening to this song, and all songs of Bob Seger's!
🍻🍺🍻🍺🍻
@@farrahlynne7121🥃tink🥃 a toast to you.
Never go wrong with a Bob Seger song. This is one of his early hits before he was well known outside of Detroit. His very first hit, Ramblin Gambling Man is a banger! Do it next 😊
Background vocal was Glenn Frey.
The LIVE version, please!
From "Live Turn On 1970" !
Live version of rambling gambling man though
Try the live version from Live Bullett that transitions from Travelin Man. Great version and an amazing transition by some jamming from the Silver Bullet Band. So much more from Bob to get to: The Famous Final Scene, Rock and Roll Never Forgets, Still the Same, Come to Papa right off the top of my head. Just a great artist I was fortunate enough to see 5 times live.
NIGHT MOVES
BOB SEGER
You’ve got to listen to this one!!! Great guitar and gritty voice!!!
Jay &Amber, you'll love his , "Rock And Roll Never Forgets" and "Night Moves", !!! First one is a Banger!!
They’ve done Hollywood Nights.
thx@@anexceleratedlife
Great song but listen to it off of Live Bullett, when you can. That whole album is amazing.
Bob Seger is my all time favorite singer. This song is beautiful ♥️😊
-definetly !-
@jeanstickland2445, I truly love this version of Song by Bob Seger, he can truly sing and I love almost every song I heard him sing way back in 1970's my older brother took me to see him live in concert it was one of my first times going to a concert. I still remember it so well, I remember feeling so nervous, it was small place in downtown Sacramento, California the place was pack it was before all those rules and laws was put in place and they were so many people. But it was very exciting for me at the time I was a teenager thanks for your comment.
@@darleneatkinson3906 I had older siblings that listened to him first time I heard him at age 13, I fell in love with his music. I’m 61 now. Nobody better than Bob for me personally. Nice chatting with you Darlene🙋🏻♀️
@@jeanstrickland2445 I was age 17 when I seen Bob Segar in concert great music I still really love music of many different rock & roll bands there many of them hope you had a great day oh, in Sept. 2023 I turned 66 years of age enjoy thanks for the reply.
Jean.
Please “Her Strut” next.
Yes!!! "Strut!"
Her Strut is a great song. His lyrics were always top tier and the musicianship always great.
Or “Sunspot Baby”, but yeah, “Strut”! And “Sunspot Baby”!
You can check out Night Moves, Still the Same, Shame on the Moon, Her Strut, Rock and Roll Never Forget, his cover of Ann Peebles Come to Papa and even his cover of the Ike and Tina song, Nutbush City Limits and his early Ramblin' Gamblin' Man.
The much better version of this is from the album Live Bullet, it’s part of the medley they did titled Travelin’ Man/ Beautiful Loser
As mentioned below, the live version. Where this song is second part of “TravelinMan/Beautiful Looser” is what most of us are used to hearing. It’s a great live performance!. You gotta check that out👍
Truly an amazing song writer his live version is incredible
When I saw you reacted to Beautiful Loser I was hoping it was the live version. It is so much richer than the studio version
If you really like him, try to do his Live songs.... won't disappoint at all. From "Live Bullet" or "Nine Tonight". Both albums are Live.
Bob Seger had an amazing voice and always stuck to his rock and roll sensibilities. Hope you 2 continue to explore his many hits and even more fun tracks
He meant it when he sang "Old Time Rock & Roll."
I’ve never heard this song without Traveling Man first. 😂 Traveling Man (live version) is my favorite Bob Seger song. I always wondered why he blended those two songs together?
Just an FYI, on the radio they usually played this leading right into Traveling Man.
Edit: vice versa Traveling Man led into Beautiful Loser
Nope, Travelin’ man led into Beautiful Loser.
@@scottlaughlin9897 you're absolutely right
Come to Poppa is the song u need to react to
One of my favourite songs!
There is a live version that is my go to when I need to hear this song.
"Roll Me Away" is one of my favorite Bob Seger tunes. You should give it a listen, I'm sure you'll like it. Hard to go wrong with Bob.
So typically Seger...the boppin beat...the scrappy voice...love this guy!
-love raspy !-
There is a version from his album "Live Bullett," two songs that are together. Travelin' Man/Beautiful Loser. You might listen to that one.
Be of my all time favourite Bob Seger songs. But truly, you can’t go wrong with any Seger.
I have to admit I've never heard the studio version of "Beautiful Loser". For the past 45 years I've always heard the live version, and it's always paired with "Travelin' Man/Beautiful Loser". You should really look for the live version from the "Live Bullet" album.
Bob Seger has so many great songs!
My favorite Seger song! The live version is the quintessential version of it.
You need to react to Rock and Roll Never Forgets by Bob Seger!
This is Bob's older work, The Bob Seger System, if I'm not mistaken. 1969-70
Before "The Silver Bullet Band"
Terrific song, whose title Seger took from a 1950s novel by Leonard Cohen, "Beautiful Losers". Cohen, from my hometown of Montreal, Canada, went on to be a great singer/songwriter, releasing his first album in 1967, which contained his hits, "Sisters of Mercy" and "Suzanne". Leonard Cohen's most famous song, "Hallelujah", has been recorded by hundreds of singers, many of them famous in their own right.
Uncle Bob (to us Michiganders) is musical royalty. He is one of the best.
I relate to this song a lot. The lyrics are the star of this song.
The original is good, but the live version where you get a 2 for one with Beautiful Loser and Travelin Man together is the ultimate way to hear it. This version was recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section for his band. One of these days ya'll have got to watch the documentary about all of the music that was recorded in Muscle Shoals.
Like a rock sold a huge number of GM pick up trucks in those commercials all those years. Everybody could sing along to the short segment they played.
You have to check out Mainstreet by him..great tune
They did Main Street a little over two years ago
Yeah..just saw that!
My first rock concert in Detroit at the Pontiac Silverdome. I was 16. He had a cold and took him 3 times to sing Turn the Page. Please try Katmandu and traveling man. Off the live bullet album. Or watch a live one.
Really need the live version.
The live version, played together with Traveling Man (leads into this one) is one of the best Seger performances ever. The guitars on Traveling Man are blistering! Seems odd just listening to this album version by itself. You owe it to yourselves to check out Traveling Man/Beautiful Loser version on Live Bullet.
There simply is not a bad Segar song. Always has and always will be one of my favorites. I remember hearing this album for the first time at 16. Awesome.
Definitely my favorite artist of all time! One other that I don’t think you’ve done yet is Get Out of Denver. It’s a very fast upbeat rocking one to get your toes tapping.
You gotta hear the live version that starts with " traveling Man" and morphs into this
Bob Seger - Her Strut
Bob Seger - Come to Papa
Bob Seger - Roll Me Away
This song brings back memories with my mother..R.I.P
One of my favorite Bob Seger songs is You'll OCOMPANY ME !
Jay and Amber, If you loved this, you have to listen to traveling man/beautiful loser LIVE.
You have to see it live, BOB IS SO AWESOME,
Please play those live.
It’s all one song . Tracking Man goes right into beautiful loser. Jay you have no idea. GUYS PLEASE DO THIS. I promise you will love it . Live bullet was done in 1975, it’s considered to be one of the best shows ever, please guys, you’ll be so glad you did 🙏
Hello SherrySowders,
how're you doing,
Your comment caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you.
Your fan love for me warms my heart, Thank you!❤️
Live bullet is one of the greatest live albums ever recorded, this song is so much better live on that album.
With Bob Seger, live is always best.
You guys have no idea this man has so much more great songs !!! 😂❤I love he’s one of my fav bands !!!!
GUYS--you need to hear the LIVE versions...it's the best one easily--a classic.
I feel in love with this man’s music in 1979! I have seen him in concert twice. In my humble opinion he’s the best. Try listening to his song ( try to live my life without you) it’s got the grit!
Love you guys!
The best time of my life...Love love love any Seger.
The Bob Seger System 1960s Turn into Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band , Long Live Detroit ROCK and the Grande Ballroom ..
Ramblin Gamblin Man. I was 11 years old. Been a fan ever since.
I was blessed to see Bob Seger on the American Storm tour. This is one of my favorite songs from him.
It looks like you've listened to a good selection of his music, but you still need to check out Night Moves and Her Strut.
This is one of those rare times that the live version is better. There's a two-part version of this I suggest
Love his music ❤
"You'll Accompany Me" and "Her Strut" are two songs you two need to hit next!
You should listen to Night Moves. Night Moves put BSSBB on the map. The video was done years after the tracks release.
Thats a great son, but the pairing of Travelin Man and Beautiful Loser from Live Bullet are Epic. Worth a listen
I was looking for a word to describe the live version. Epic is the right word. I'm a little disappointed they didn't get to experience it.
As one of your older viewers, I love these older, lesser known songs by Mr. Segar. I grew up hearing the same handful of songs on my local rock outlet. He has so much more! Recommendation: Sunspot Baby.
Think they did that one, one of my favorites!
I specifically remember a couple dozen people telling you in an earlier Seger video that you had to do the live version and you had to do it connected to "Travelin' Man." So much for giving the people what they want.
Always felt that these lyrics described me. Still do in lots of ways.
Great reaction. Glad you are going deeper into his catalog. I’m a life long fan since the late 70’s. His music will always have a special place in my heart. Check out “Til it Shines”! I haven’t seen any reactions to that one yet. It’s so good. 😉
This is such a great song, and great album.
You gotta do the live version of "Traveling Man" and "Beautiful Loser" together.
Thank you Bob Seger. Another classic
You have to listen to the live version of this.
This is a young Bob. It's one of my favorites, but I agree, I like the Live version from "Live Bullet ".
Great song by Bob Seger, rocking with great backing and love the piano-Colin Ward
It has been so fun to see your journey as music fans. I like that your channel is full of positivity and your honest reactions! The fun thing about becoming fans of an artist is the community and you have built such a wonderful place to enjoy music. Thank you! 😎🎶
In the late 70's and early 80's, Bob Seger was required listening in topless bars.
I'm so happy right now!! I've been waiting oh so long for this one, and you guys have finally gotten to one of his best. ❤️
The Travelin Man/Beautiful Loser version on Live Bullet is one you really need to hear, it's fantastic.
Another great live performance is Trying To Live My Life Without You from Nine Tonight.
Love me some Bob, too! My folks saw him at a bar show in Michigan when I was a (pre-kindergarten) kid. Love catching "bar bands" before they hit. My big one was 311 in a bar a number of times!
Pine Knob, which is our outside concert venue outside Detroit, has named the road into the venue Bob Seger Dr. in his honor.
The live version is better for sure. You should do another reaction to the live one. Bob Seger is amazing!!
STARTED LISTENING TO MR SEGER IN '68 ... EVERYTHING HE DOES IS BRILLIANT!
One of his finest.
This sounds like a remastered version of this classic from Bob.
On love bullet he does a two song set of Travelin Man and Bestutiful loser and most people know that version better. It's worth listening to the 2 song set. It's live and amazing .
Bob Segar is one of the all-time greats!
backing band is The Swampers from Muscle Shoals. From around 1973 to 1980 about half of each album was recorded with The Swampers.
“Night Moves”, arguably his best, is the one you want to hear
Seger songs "Come To Poppa" and "Her Strut" so in Jay's lane.
Always is a smoky voice story teller, never a bad song in his catalog! enjoy his stories!
Simply Bob Seger, one of the best to do it.
The LIVE version of this on Live Bullet us nothing short of AMAZING!
I listened to classic rock non stop when I was growing up in the 90s/2000s because of my dad. I introduced my best friend to many songs like this because I knew he would understand the emotion tied to the lyrics. The themes of songs like this reach every generation because we're always seeking the same unachievable goals. In the end, you cant have it all and that's alright sometimes.
Bob Seger!! Great song , you guys should check this song on his Live album , one of the best Live Albums from the 70's " Live Bullet "
My most favorite Bob Seger song is the one I happen to be listening to at the time.
As others have commented, this version is very good. But, the version on Live Bullet recorded in Detroit in 1975, where Travelin' Man is done as a medley ending with Beautiful Loser, is superb! It might be my favorite Bob Seger recording.
This version is still worthwhile. But, the live version is do much better. It brings back so many memories from the late 1970s and the early 1980s for me, the years right after high school.
Many time, those who listened to hard FM rock stations heard different versions of songs then the studio Album version. Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd is an example Another is Surrender by Cheap Trick. The single version only made it to 65 on the Top 100 Billboard Singles chart. However, Surrender, I Want You To Want Me, ANF the Fats Domino cover Ain't That a Shame from the Live at Budokan album were FM Rock staples for years. All these live versions have more energy than the originals.
But, thanks for reacting to one of my very favorite Seger songs!
"Still the same" is a great story telling song by Bob Segar
I can't believe you haven't done this one yet!
Beautiful loser is my favorite bob segar song by far!
never heard this version, so thanks for reacting and sharing with us! The live version captures some additional magic on this one.
Hard to go wrong with Bob Seger. Would love you to check out "Her Strut", another great song from Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. "Long Twin Silver Line" is another one you would enjoy as well. Keep digging, there is plenty more to uncover.
I wish you had done the live version. Traveling Man/ Beautiful Loser together! Rockin
