  • Female babies are born with all the egg cells (approximately 1-2 million at birth) they’re ever going to have. No new egg cells are made during your lifetime. An AMH test can tell you your egg count. A low AMH level points to a diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) or low egg count, which is why the hormone is linked to fertility. In today's Video Dr Jay Mehta and Dr Paramjeet Singh ‪@DrEDUCATION‬ are going to discuss Tips to get pregnant with low AMH (How to increase low AMH level).
Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) might not be the most talked-about hormone but it is one of the most important hormones when it comes to pregnancy. Your AMH levels determine the ovarian reserve. The more eggs you have, the higher your AMH level will be. The fewer eggs you have, the less AMH will be produced, indicating a lower ovarian reserve. Having low AMH doesn’t necessarily mean that you won’t be able to get pregnant. It just suggests that you might have a bit less time to work in terms of trying to conceive. As you age, you have fewer eggs, so you’ll have lower levels of AMH the older you get.
Women who have AMH value less than 1.5 are said to have low AMH or poor ovarian reserve.
Low AMH doesn't mean women can't conceive naturally. Low AMH women can have healthy children, they might need assisted reproductive technique to conceive but it's not mandatory that every woman who has Low AMH have to do IVF. Sometimes they can conceive naturally as well. Once the lady is detected with low AMH, there are certain medications which temporarily increase Low AMH level which might help to conceive.
