2 years ago I learned there is a iron plate cleaner. From using heat and bond, other glues, starches, and the fabric dies; they put a buildup on the bottom of an iron. Sew Yeah quilting sells this product. Looking at the bottom of your iron, you may not even notice it needs cleaning. They also have a table polisher to help the quilts glide over the surface

I have the NI-WL602 model which looks the same (except it's blue) and it is absolutely amazing just like you said. I've had no problems at all. Love it!
Thanks for this recent review. I'm considering getting this iron and I wanted a newer model review, rather than ones 5 or 6 years old. I think I'm a "swisher" as well, but this would be so handy!! For at home and to take to retreats!
