    I already have this iron, I bought it from HSN and I love it!!!! I bought this iron a year and half ago and i have had no problems with it. It is the perfect iron for quilting or sewing projects. Not to mention that it makes pressing and ironing a breeze.. I would recommend this iron to anybody who wants to press and iron their clothes, sewing or quilting projects. It is perfect!!!!

    I have to admit, when I saw you take out all those pieced squares I though to myself. ..no way she's going to press all those seams open. Then you did! I'm impressed that you take such great care with your quilting projects to go that extra mile. I do NOT press my seams open unless it's garment sewing. Very nice demo of your new iron.

      Thank you Sharon. I hope you watched the follow up review too. I only press seams open when I will have a lot of them meeting in the corners....99% it's HSTs.

    We love this iron; so convenient!! I would also highly recommend this iron to anyone who quilts as you can piece so easily with it!! My hubby and I take turns and he made an ironing board between our two sewing machine cabinets and we have the iron between us and we can both use it. It irons great!!

      The iron is great for traveling. However, if using at home to press backing and yardage, I'd get something else! I may have found an alternative that's way cheaper.

      We use our Osilio (sp?) for the big ironing projects. Like washed fabrics for a quilt!! I used to wash all my fabrics, back in the day, and I would spend half a day every day ironing, ironing, ironing!! Then wrap them back up on the cardboard thingies you get when you buy the rest of the bolt at any fabric store. I even ask if they have extras. Now, I have bought, many years ago, those plastic thingies so I have to rewind all my fabrics again!! Ugh!!!

    Thanks for doing this. Great video. Got one of these for about 25 usd as a promotion just a few days after my cheap corded bachelor's iron bit the dust.
    Wanted to see if there were any tips and tricks to make sure I didn't mess it up. Looks great.

      $25.00 USD? Freestyle 360? If so, sounds like you got a good deal. I think most of 5hese are at least close to $40.00 USD and above.

    thanks for the info this was interesting - I did not like that "button" to change the temp (those kind of buttons seem to wear out fast) - that it is pointed in both directions?? hmm that will take some getting use to because every other iron has that flat edge in the back and I do use that flat edge - other than that you got me interested enough to go check out one of these irons - I have about three irons and they are all over 10 years old so a new iron would be a good purchase - P.S. THANK YOU FOR SAYING YOU HAD TO SET YOUR SEAMS - MANY BYPASS THAT STEP (OR DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT) AND DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH DIFFERENCE IT MAKES

    • @teaquilts
      @teaquilts  Před 8 lety

      Thanks Mary. I too (as you saw in the video) had problems wanting to set the iron on the flat edge (that wasn't there!) It will take some getting used to not doing that step. I think I'm going to love it when I start traveling with it.

    • @jimsqueenie
      @jimsqueenie Před 6 lety

      Setting seams is so very important---I have done that since I began quilting in 1986!! All of my quilt points have come out perfect because of that extra step.

    Can this iron be charged and used with the water tank removed, please? I dry iron only and I prefer the iron to be as light as possible. You mention removing the tank; I would like confirmation. Thank you

    I had been considering this iron. I watch the update as well. I will have to give it more thought. Thank you for the review. BUT I want to know about the long rolling pin looking thing you are pressing your little blocks on with the iron to get the seams to open. Did you make it and is there a tutorial on it ? Have an amazing day Tea !

    Would u recommend this iron.?

    • @teaquilts
      @teaquilts  Před 6 lety

      Only for a travel iron or for ironing block pieces. If you want an iron to press yardage, I don't recommend. Why, because while the iron feels hot, for some reason, the wrinkles don't disappear. Not sure if it's the weight of the iron, but it doesn't work for me. However, I do use them when I'm teaching classes to demo pressing.
