THIS EPISODE
After a rough couple of days getting over the untimely plunge into the deep unknown of the Pacific by our beloved drone (see last episode: • CLOSE CALL ON THE ROAD... ) , we landed in Pacifica, right outside of San Fransisco and finally had a day to get out and explore the city.
You guys know how much we love movies and love being able to see places from the movies that we love, so San Fransisco was a blast to explore, especially after just finishing up the Planet of the Apes series! We headed out to see the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time with donuts and coffee! No sunrise this morning as the fog was so thick, but donuts for lunch works, too! 😉
Baker Beach was incredible! With free parking, I don't think you can get a better place to sit on the beach and view the bridge! Just be sure to hide all valuables in your car as someone had all their windows smashed in while we were down at the beach! 😬 Welcome to big cities!
We headed up through the city to see the Painted Ladies, the beautiful Victorian houses made famous on Full House! The day wrapped up with a drive to Twin Peaks for a panoramic view of the entire city! Just the drive alone was amazing!
Stay tuned for the next episode as we drive the RV across the Golden Gate Bridge and get back out on the 1! Be sure to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new videos!

THE HOT PINK FLOWERS ARE CALLED ICE PLANT! PRETTY COOL! WE LOVE THEM AND HAVE THEM ALL AROUND OUR YARD HERE IN THE FOUR CORNERS AREA OF NEW MEXICO! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL AND YOUR WONDERFUL FAMILY, HAPPY TRAVELS TO YOU!
Flowers are called Ice Plant. Awesome as always!
Awesome video. Thank you for s tour that feels complete. Blessings
I was totally waiting to hear Tony Bennett break out in song "I left my heart in San Francisco" 😊
Such a cool vlog Golden Gate Bridge was awesome. Love my movies just a few I can think of, Mrs Doubtfire, Wedding Planner, Sister Act Obviously Planet of the Apes so many. Fantastic vlog guys those views spectacular. Take care have a great week.❤❤🤗🤗🇬🇧
My honey, honey bun, and these things lol. That was funny, I'm going use that line 🤣. Awesome video.
The Streets of San Francisco with Karl Malden and Micheal Douglas early to mid 70’s. Thanks for taking us along the views are gorgeous. Safe travels!
Use vegetable oil on bare steel to slow down rust.
Beautiful city. Wow the streets. Thanks!
Thanks for the Veterans Day wish and back at you brother.
The multi colored houses were the inspiration for the song little boxes written by Malvina Reynolds and sung by Pete Seeger. It's a classic.
Thanks for the wonderful tour of one of America’s treasures! In spite of its shortcomings you managed a wonderful and positive tour. I really enjoy your family! A true fan!!
Thank you for thanking our service men and women who have defended us and also to the many families whose husbands and wives and son's and daughter's who have given their lives.
That was an awesome video!
Too Close For Comfort was another SF show. Ted Knight starred in it. Love the content and watching your family explore our great nation.
What a awesome family I hope your girls realize how blessed they are. My dad was never around.
Mark Twain once said the coldest winter he ever spent was August in San Francisco.
Favorite San Francisco film: Bullitt with Steve McQueen!
‘The Streets of San Francisco’ with Michael Douglas.
Watched on Veterans Day. Thank you for Your Service. God bless you all
Too bad about the street cars. We visited SF early October and they were working then. And, yes, our gps took us thru the Tenderloin district. There were police on every corner.
thanks to you for your service for our free country
Charmed was my favorite TV show. Also Mrs Doubtfire and the Wedding Planner. Thanks to all the Veteran's for your service!!
Thanks for the military shout out!
My dad signed into the US Navy in his hometown of SAN FRANCISCO ❤️
My ancestors family members worked on the GOLDEN GATE Bridge. (The “I thought it would be taller” was priceless!)
I believe it was Mark Twain who said:
“The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.”
After he retired from the Navy, we settled back in the “Bay Area”! I worked in the “city”, all our family live/lived there. My dear cousin was SGT in the SFPD , was killed in the line of duty on Van Ness st.
Lastly, I met my Navy ‘‘honey’ in Alameda (across the bay from SF) and continued the Navy adventure!
Sorry you missed Coit Tower! It looks like a Fire Hose and is dedicated to firemen. You did well though on a lot of highlights !
PS… Thanks for your military service!
Thank you! That is an amazing history, thank you for sharing , and go Navy 💪🇺🇸⚓️😃 there was so much shut down while we were there unfortunately. So sorry to read about your cousin…
I was going to post a picture, but I do not think I can. I have a hitch ball cover that I bought on Amazon that would keep the rust problem from happening. Also great to keep grease from getting everywhere😉. Happy travels- love you guys
I love your donut reviews! Honestly look forward to it, it makes me laugh!
About 27 years ago my girlfriend (now amazing wife of 26 years!) and I took our first trip together to SF to visit her family. We too k a bus to the bridge, because I just had to go, and walked out to the first bridge support. We were looking out at the amazing view and had a long hug and a smooch, several of the crossing cars started honking! We felt completely safe exploring the city and riding the trolley. Not sure if it would be as enjoyable today. Great video, good thing it wasn't warmer when you visited the beach!
Wait, what about the drone? I was looking forward to an update! Lol. Safe travels
Don't forget one of the most iconic movies ever. Bullet. :)
Full House and the first Princess Diaries movie!
The plant you were referring to that you saw all over is called Iceplant. It is abundant all over Southern California.
Love SF and the bridge. On you way up north look up all the movies they made in Point Arena, Mendocino and Ft Bragg.. I think those plants you like are called Erigeron. Besides all the TGIF show of the 80s, The Streets of San Fransico staring Micheal Douglas in the 70's,
The car chase from the movie Bullit is best ,through the streets of SF.
Always love your videos. We live in Canada and circumnavigated the US on our Harleys the year I retired. What a rush riding the Harleys up and down those hills in San Fran. Now we have graduated to a C Class toy hauler so your many rv videos are a great inspiration for us. Keep up the great posts.
Loved this video! As a former California resident we have many memories of SF. Nice place to visit but couldn't live there. Our last trip up there was all along highway 1 on Harleys and finally across the Golden Gate. Spectacular!
Be safe, be well.
Apple Fritters for life!!!!!!!
I grew up in San Francisco its always foggy lol. Re: crime we grew up learning to lock our doors and hide our valuables in the car like you said that’s what comes with living in a city. I am surprised that you didn’t check out all the military history in SF.
Now I live 2 hours away now and take for granted that its right there but never visit. Thank you for your videos and reminding me why I love that city need to get back there.
I totally remember TGIF and just started streaming Family Matters :) My favorite San Francisco movies are Mrs. Doubtfire and the Presidio with Mark Harmon, Meg Ryan and Sean Connery ( I like it for the scenery and I was on set for some of the filming my mom worked on base as a civilian).
Have a great rest of your trip!
Bullet was my favorite San Francisco pic
San Francisco is a awesome city. My wife and I were there about 5 yrs ago on Valentines Day Weekend . Weather was great 75 degrees. We took the double decker bus tour and we took a cable car over the hill at night. It was awesome!!!!! Maybe next time you will do it.
Spray under the truck and trailer too!
Definitely! 🙌
We are catching up on your videos. One of our favorite Sam Francisco movies is Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. Thanks for all your great videos.
Thank you for a great tour and seeing things we missed on our visit. We watch Monk and visited several of the sites that they film at. Enjoy
Thank YOU for joining us! We are staying with family who are big Monk fans!
God bless this family. Keep them safe.
Thank you for your prayers!
Loved the ending!
Wow! Pacifica, my old stomping grounds! WASH WASH WASH EVERYTHING! The ocean tends to eat it up. Enjoy your time in San Francisco. I love San Francisco and always will. Tartine Bakery in the Mission, is much better than any donut shop. LOL. I'm driving with you on Lombard Street. Yay! I am lovin your journey. I reserve the right to add to my message
A good show from the 70’s was The Streets of SanFrancisco. It was a police/detective show.
I lived in Pacifica for a number of yrs(in the late 80's, early 90's)...Use to ride my Mtn. Bike from Pacifica up to Golden Gate park and beyond...have crossed the Golden Gate bridge many times, lots of memories stirred from your video...
Mrs. Doubtfire with Robin Williams is one of my favorites.
One of ours, too! We recently watched it with the girls for the first time!
The Golden Gate does not hold a candle to the Mighty Mac Mackinaw Bridge...great fun to see your travels but I'll keep my Michigan experience!
Thank your new President for that. LGB
The Full House houses were only few houses to survive the 1906 Earthquake and fire.
The beautiful succulents or a weed that was brought in to keep dunes from a routing and a mini places in California they are trying to remove them. Just a fun fact
Just started watching…. The first was the trip to sequoia national Park and now this one!!!! What a treat, San Francisco is my favorite city & my daughter lives there so every couple of years I get to fly in and enjoy the city with family…. I was just there this August and seeing all the familiar sites, it’s as if I was there all over again…. I wish you would’ve gone to Coit tower though that’s one of my favorite landmarks…. You did an amazing job with this video and so glad you got to enjoy my favorite city… ❤️❤️❤️
Y’all keep the San Francisco. I’m good down here in North Ga.
My wife and I are SF bay area natives and live in Sonoma County now so it has been very interesting to see and hear your perspective on rv'ing in our home area. Glad you seemed to have enjoyed your time in our part of the world! We are looking forward to February when we head out on our next trip in our 5th wheel.
I worked in San Francisco for 4 years on and off. I do not miss it.
Mrs Doubtfire MY FAVORITE!!! I spent a LOT of time in the city and I miss how it was back in the day. A bit of trivia… the locals call San Francisco “The City”. Only tourists call it San Fran. You guys are so cute - Lombard was a trip though!
We drove down that road and across the Golden Gate Bridge with our 32 foot class c. Never again. Lol. When I was a kid we went down Lthe windiest road in the world there in San Francisco in a 1974 chevy station wagon. We took a bicycle ride down the wharf and got a great lesson from the driver.
I grew up a few blocks from Baker Beach. Third generation San Franciscan.
Left many many years ago before all the break ins started in. Now that’s just part of living in “the City”
Great to see all our old haunts in this video that we ran around too in the 60’s & 70’s and 80’s.
We loved living in the Richmond District
What a fun place it was to grow up
Neighbors and I are all still good friends.
Can’t wait to follow your trip up the one.
When I finally left I moved to Marin and then up to Sonoma County.
But it’s now so over the top expensive I moved on to another state.
Another great video!!
Safe travels up the coast
Charmed was my favorite from that area.
It’s crazy how much was filmed there!
I heard that someone said "the coldest winter I ever saw was one summer in San Francisco."
The whole static from the radio towers has a whole Independence Day movie feel, like space ships were trying to talk to us haha.
I thought the same thing😂 I kept trying to listen to what is was saying!
Hey Corey, have you videoed the fog rolling in under the bridge? It looks like a freight train rolling through very fast! It’s amazing
I haven’t , but really want to capture that one day. I’ve seen other people’s captures of this! You’re right it looks amazing
We were in SF in 2005 and stayed at that RV park on that front row overlooking the cliff and the ocean. We paid $65/night; it was the most we ever paid for a campsite. We explored the city using BART.
You know what Mark Twain said about SF, The coldest winter I ever spent was in SF one summer.
thank you for your svs to our country
Yep San Fran is notorious for car break ins. So sad.
You should have hooked up the Reflection and driven it down Lombard Street 😉. Dirty Harry. The Presideo. Escape from Alcatraz. Bullitt.
We enjoyed seeing the painted ladies and driving Lombard street, but we were driving a Smart car not a truck. Also enjoyed China town and fisherman's warf.
Great video I like all of the movie spots thanks
Great video. San Fran is definitely a different place to visit and has lots of character. I have enjoyed the times that I have visited and look forward to back someday.
Love this!
We've stayed there a few times. Love visiting that area. Check out Half Moon Bay.
Nice you got a new camera, but you can make any camera give amazing video and pictures!!!!
San Fran is always foggy, always. Sooo many great restaurants. Must go up Lombard the crookedest st.
Thank you for your service.
We actually drove Lombard in this video!👍
Movies- Dirty Harry……
Nice views from Coit tower
Great movie! Thanks for watching!
Been there 2 times not any more. Nice to say i seen it , I guess! Give me the southwest desert, Montana, the Dakotas. Thanks for the tour!
Thank you Stay Safe God Bless
Thank you Corey for your service and to all that made the sacrifice and served our nation.
Baker Beach was the first one my son enjoyed as a baby! You did miss some highlights like the view from Coit Tower, the 19th Avenue Steps, the view from Fort Point of the Golden Gate and the beauty of Golden Gate Park. But you get to go back and see those some day. Impossible to see all of the beauty of SF in one trip!
Full House, Monk, Mrs Doubtfire
There are tons of very unique stuff to explore in San Francisco if you have the time. Artwork, stairs, houses (the Victorian Ladies), ethnic neighborhoods, and Golden Gate Park itself.
But, as we Northern Californians know, "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.", Mark Twain,.
I think Dirty Harry movies, Full House, and Pretty Lady, The Monkees…I’ve been around a lot of years so I could name tons of them! Danielle Steele had a few books set there.
I would seek out Mill Valley…a MASH reference 😁.
I was able to ride a cable car in July 1969. I was 11 so I didn’t experience flowers in my hair…neither did my teenage sisters! It was pretty cool, yep, still remember what it was like. We only drove through Chinatown but ate at the wharf.
Great vlog! Best weather is generally September through early November and late April through May. Summer is foggy and winter usually (and hopefully) rainy. San Francisco has changed dramatically in my lifetime and is now a place of extreme wealth with pockets of poverty. It used to be basically a middle class city. Although now retired to Palm Springs, I am a native who has walked the streets for over 50 years. The homelessness has been a problem since the Reagan years when the state mental hospitals were closed and has only gotten worse with the rising prices of rents that make it impossible to find cheap housing anywhere which is further exacerbated by the rise of the drug culture. The Tenderloin has been a neighborhood to avoid for as long as I can remember. As in any city, if one is careful there are many fantastic things to see and experience so don't listen to news casters. I similarly was told to avoid Rio de Janeiro and am so happy I visited. I was careful and had a fantastic experience. Love your wonderful family and looking forward to future travels. Stay safe, treasure these memories that will last a lifetime and again thanks so much for taking us along. As a native Californian I do have to tell you that I love Maine.
Great video!!
Try walking to the top! Whew!
When I saw you guys were heading to San Francisco I was going to warn you don't leave anything in your car visible.. but I remember your videos are actually behind today's date.. but you've been in my backyard.. i pretty much grew up on Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz Beach.. We also like Pacifica and still go there.. But we no longer go anywhere near San Francisco it's become extremely high crime due to politics.. and it's hard to even breathe by Pier 39.. The stink from homeless is horrendous.. So glad you guys are safe and had fun.. TV shows.. The Streets of San Francisco.. McMillan & Wife.. Monk.. I'm pretty sure the first two I mentioned you're too young to know..
Thanks for the video of s.f the great times in s.f come back to n.bay 👍👍👍👍
My sister lives in San Fran. She lives in the Lavender house on the right. I worked in San Fran in the Pyramid Building.
You forgot about Mrs. Doubtfire😂
Awesome videos and thank you for serving.
Mrs. Doubtfire, tales of the city, Looking.
Let's hear it for all the apple fritter lovers....yes cold, fog and hot chocolate...love you all and your travels.
Man, we love apple fritters! Thank you so much for joining us on our journey and taking the time to comment!
Steve McQueen in Bullitt
Sounds like a good one we need to watch!
@@FindingOurSomeday oh you haven't seen it before it's a great movie.
You all should check out China Town next time
No cities for me I go out of my way to avoid them. I live 20 minutes from Cape Cod and the traffic is so bad to get over the two bridges so I don't go there either. So the closest I am going to get to one is through your lens.
If you ever want to see the steepest street in the world it’s Canton Ave in Pittsburgh, PA. If you make it out this way, we’d love to show you around!
Favorite SF movie. Bullitt. Can’t beat the chase scene. Great video
I caught that Chase scene while I was editing this video! I wish I had seen it before our drive through there. I would have tried to find some of the spots😃
My faves are Mrs. Doubtfire and The Princess Diaries.
Our family loves both of those! Thank you ! You can’t go wrong with an Anne Hathaway or Robin Williams 😃
Got to ask, do your kids argue ? You guys all are joy to watch.
