After leaving our amazing Harvest Host in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, last week, we headed up to Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island and got an ocean front site at the Thousand Trails Encore Park, Mt Desert Narrows!
Having exactly what you want to see and explore right in your backyard is the type of RVing that we are always striving to find! We took an evening walk the first night at low tide, found sea creatures and watched the sunset with the girls.
Our first day of good weather, we grabbed a Cadillac Mountain Day Use permit from the National Park website and stopped at Hulls Cove General Store to pick up some dinner to enjoy as we watched the sunset at the top of the mountain. After a couple test shots on top of Cadillac, we headed down Park Loop Rd to Sand Beach and experience what might be the brightest Milky Way we have ever seen! I only lived in Maine for three years after my hubby (who had lived there 14 years) and I got married. We loved going to Cadillac Mtn a couple of times and have some of the most beautiful photos - and memories - of being there. Even though we moved back south four years ago, we plan to go back for a visit this Fall to see his two adult children who are still Mainahs!
Wow! Amazing photography, Corey, so beautiful! You really have a gift! When I saw the Milky Way and vast amount of stars, I couldn't help but think of the Scripture found in Isaiah 40:25-26. God brings out each star and calls each one by name and says because of His great power and strength not one of them is missing!
Please consider creating a channel for photography/astrophotography. I would love to see you go through the process and details of setting up all of your gear to get these awesome pictures.

I got so excited, and homesick, to see Acadia. And your Milky Way photos are amazing!
Agree on the permit system it is so confusing and frustrating. We just went to Rocky Mountain NP and you have to have a permit to get in certain times of the day, even just to travel thru without stopping, and then you have to have another permit to go to the Bear Lake corridor part of the park and the permit is for only certain times of the day. Then the veteran pass is confusing. We went to the park entrance to ask a park ranger and she was even confused. Its crazy!
You guys have inspired us to explore our own state of Michigan more, did you know we have the most lighthouses in the US? Next to that is Maine! Thank you for inspiring us and now I need new lenses for my camera! ❤

You have a beautiful state! When we were sitting at silver lake sand dunes I looked up info about lighthouses. That’s when I learned Maine was defeated on light house numbers🥹😂 glad we could add some inspiration!

We just left Acadia. Weather was in 50s low 60s every day. It is funny that just like you, we were un long sleeves. We did the hikes and loved our time there. Paid the $6 for truck access early one morning to get the sunrise and the fog and cloud cover was so bad we could not see 50-100' in front of us. But we are back home now in Mississippi and it's 100° with 98% humidity. What a welcome home.

We live in southern Maine and love Bar Harbor. We camped there several time with friends before we got married. We spent our honeymoon their 23 yrs ago in a cabin on top of Eagle Mt. We have been back several time since and camped at Bar Harbor campground.
Many sunsets have been seen at Cadillac but we haven't seen a sunrise. Interesting point, Cadillac is the first place in the US to see the sunrise. Even though Mt. Washington is much taller, because it is further from the coast, it sees it after Cadillac does.

That’s the campground we stayed at when my sister and I visited Maine in Fall 2021. Since I just had my RV, I loved the shuttles that would take us into the park and into Bar Harbor. ❤️

One of my favorite places on earth!! The stars are incredible! We tent camped there about 5 years ago right after Labor Day. Cold but not unbearable and people but not insane crowds like during the summer.

I've had so much fun taking Night Shots with a GoPro set to Night Time-Lapse mode. It takes a few times to get the settings correct, but it can give you a really good time-lapse of the Milky Way and the night sky in general. I'm headed to the NH mountains next week to do just that.🤠 ...remember to use a battery power bank. Thanks for another great video!! 💙💙

Have been to the blow hole when I was a young child….it’s been a long time and we will visit in a few years with our granddaughter!!

We love Thunderhole. My parents brought us up after I got married to Maine for my husband to see all the BEAUTY of the North. We got to Thunderhole after we had been talking about it for MONTHS!! And it was more like Thunder "Spit" we were so disappointed that we could not show him the BEAUTY of the tide coming in and crashing over the rock and up on the street. One day we will be back. Just told my husband that it is now on my bucket list. Thanks for reminding me of all these wonderful memories. They mean so much to me since we lost my dad in Nov. Love your videos & pictures!

Love the video. One clarification: in 2021 (at least), no pass was needed IF you hiked up! My wife and I did it a couple of times during our 2 week stay at Blackwoods campground, and we enjoyed it.
Great shots with that lens. We were in Hawaii on Maui on the top of Mt. Haleakalā for sunrise. Below freezing at 10,000' with fog. Never did see the sun! This was before you needed a reservation.
We stayed at that same camp ground. The views were amazing and a great location.
You Take some of the Best Pictures and The New camera Really does makes a Big Difference.

You need to visit Big Bend and the Fort Davis, Texas area to get great photos of the Milky Way with no time restrictions!

School to|of trips hiking Door Mtn, Prom night at Sand Beach, sunsets and sunrises on Cadillac Mtn., crossing the sandbar, the sailing regatta on Somes Sound, visiting the shops in Bar Harbor.....the Fourth of July Fireworks, at the Harbor (traffic getting off the island after is atrocious) enjoy!

I love the photos of the stars and Milky Way. That general store looked cool as well, but I didn't see you get the Maine staple soda. Of all things, Maine the one thing that stands out to me from my childhood is Moxie. Living in MA my family went to Maine many times when I was a kid. Almost every trip my parents made it a point to get Moxie. It is an acquired taste. After seeing this video I now want to go back to Acadia as an adult.
Edit: I had to come back and comment that I didn't watch the previous episode, until now, that you had mention it and why you didn't mention it in the episode with your favorite Maine items.

So glad my husband and I were able to visit Cadillac Mountain pre-reservation. I can't remember how many years ago maybe 2010 but the sunrise was spectacular. Later when we had our son we shot the milky way from Sea Wall picnic area. It was pretty amazing. I be Schoodic Point would be another fab spot for night photography. Thanks for bringing back some awesome memories! What lens is it that you are loving so much? I've been using the Irix 15mm Blackstone but night photography and a crop sensor don't mix well.

Can only reserve tent sites 60 days in advance so my sister is on her computer each morning at exactly 10 AM. Has snagged same site 2 days in a row and shooting for 3 end of August.

I am 100% with you on the permits suck. They did that same thing here on Maui for Haleakala national park for sunrise. It's stupid and sucks and takes a lot of the fun out of the whole thing.
What size lens did you get? Great footage! Love this amazing country. It's a shame parks have permits, and extra fees. I understand having to be strict in parks because people just don't think about consequences, and want the instant gratification of go off pathways, climbing monumemts, petting or getting too close to the widllife. Great place to visit!
I wanted to share that I've been a photographer for over 20 years and I LOVE watching your videography grow over these years. I always tell my husband (we watch together) that I can feel your excitement as you're getting ready to shoot something cool. I have been a Canon shooter all my life and have used the Mark III since it was released in 2013. I never felt the need to upgrade because it was so great. But now that I'm working on my videography, the video capabilities aren't keeping up with me. I researched forever and finally settled on the Cannon R6. I have to tell you, this thing will blow your MIND with it's video capabilities!! It's like a whole new world. The low light ability is just insane. And the tracking is perfection. AND you don't have to buy all new lenses. Just using the adaptor has been fine, as my Canon lens collection is extensive and would be ridiculous to try to replace. I can't say enough about it. Good luck choosing - it took me a year to decide! :)
I appreciate the compliment 😊 I do love getting to shoot new things or even the same things with different light conditions! The 5D was/is an awesome Camera! I do like the 6D2 , unfortunately I’ll be switching to Sony . For me, my priority is having a camera all the time, so that means it needs to be small and light. Sony has committed themselves to not only small body’s but also compact full frame lenses. That’s why I’ve had a crop sensor all these years(canon M62) the body is tiny and the lenses are tiny. That being said I only have a few pieces of EF glass and most are first generation. So I need to re buy lenses either way. It does stink though, I’ve always been a Canon shooter all the way back to rebel film to my first digital SLR the Rebel XTi . Funny times I’m sure you said at one point you’re not interested in shooting video, I swore I would never shoot video. Then I got a drone 😎 enjoy that 6D, great camera!!!

Have never stayed in a National Park < is it free camping ? I finally got my 1990 Tioga ready to roll and booked a State Park near us and was floored , they raised the price by $15 a night from last year! Crazy ,,,
