OMG I totally relate to this situation! I started menopause at 42 but it wasn't until I turned 48 that the weight started to pile up (Depression knocked me out completely out of nowhere!) I lost all motivation in life, I quit running (I am a marathoner) didn't care what ate and life sucked tremendously!. I always maintained a healthy weight of 120-124, always active and eating healthy choices. Back to the struggle with weight at 48, nothing has helped even my 100% Vegan wonderful lifestyle for the last coupe of years and still going strong. After finding Erin's channel I feel like there is hope and there is a change to feel like my regular self again! I just turned 49 last month and I still have 20lb on me that refuse to leave no matter what I try. TAM prices always scared me, but I am now giving it a very strong consideration. Thank you Erin for your honest input because you are about to change my life 🙂

Merci. Thanks. I'm 69 y.o. Two years ago I was at 150... I'm only 5ft. I started Weight Watchers and only by journaling, taking smaller portions of food and walking, swimming and also doing Body Groove (dance exercises) on video, I've come down to 130 last Winter. However, I did it at my own pace, not worrying and mostly not feeling guilty if I cheated once in a while. During the quarantine, I gained almost 10 lbs back. Since May I've lost 5 lbs and I plan to continue until I reach 125 maybe around Xmas. So, I always like to learn about what others are doing to keep their weight in a healthy state. And I wish everybody to come out of this pandemic healthy and stronger. Love you all from Quebec, Canada.

Thank you so much for this. I actually teared up at the end. I’ve never had a weight problem until I had a hysterectomy for medical reasons. It threw me into immediate menopause. The things that I used to do to keep my weight under control no longer work; ie eating smaller portions, cutting out snacks and/or desserts, specific workouts. It’s so demoralizing to try to get dressed and you can’t even pull your jeans up over your thighs anymore....I stood in my closet last weekend and cried trying to find something that fit. What happened?!!! My GYN told me there’s nothing I can do about it, “it’s just part of getting older..” You have given me hope, inspired me. I don’t have to settle. Thank you!

I could have written this myself! Was 110 all my life until my 40s then 120 which was fine. I’m not a teenager anymore. Hysterectomy & quarantine hit, I got up to 157 at my highest and have been hating myself. I would kill to be 127 like these before photos! But I understand not feeling good and wanting to be happy again.
This has been particularly depressing because I also love style and have a large closet full of size 4. So far I have lost 8 lbs in two months which feels like a huge accomplishment. With ZERO help from my doctor who, like yours, told me to just accept it. And she is a 60 woman! NOT okay! Looking for a new one now. I realize this was a year ago, but wishing you success on your journey. So many of us can relate ❤️

Omg I just found this channel and I love your sincerity. You’re so real and relatable. I love your sensitivity. I’m 42 and I had always been so skinny. Just to give you an idea, I’m 5’5 and with my first pregnancy I was 118 pounds the day I gave birth. After 4 kids I was 125-128 but after turning 41 my weight started going up to the point that I was 153 during quarantine. I’ve been doing intermittent fasting, hiking and yoga and I’ve lost about 8 pounds. But my goal is to be 125 again. You’re such an inspiration and when you cried, I cried with you because it does take such a toll on your self-esteem and it does suck, especially when you love clothes and they no longer fit. Thank you for being so real and for sharing your story.

I cannot tell you how much this spoke to me. I've put on 20 pounds over the past 4 years. It's been my own doing. After having been active my whole life, I've been mostly sedentary and not watching what I eat. I'm lucky I haven't gained more! When you said "it sucks" about not fitting in your clothes, I felt you. It does suck. I know I'm not obese, but I'm not ME. I'm 5'5' and 20 pounds is 20 pounds. I've been working on it for a month solid, tracking everything and workout out hard 4-5 days a week (with weights and cardio) and seeing slight body changes but minimal scale change. But at almost 45, it makes me wonder if something bigger is at play. THANK YOU for sharing this. I needed this so much right now Erin. 💗

I added 20 pounds at age 38 with working all hours and eating relatively healthy throughout this pandemic on a 5’5 frame that’s always been healthy and muscular at the original 120lb range. It took me 3 months getting back into a longer sleep schedule, incorporating something active every day (like hour long walks and anything more I can handle) and eating super healthy and whole foods to start to feel human again. This sharing is so helpful. Especially as I look ahead to what’s coming with peri menopause and more. Thank you both for your sharing 💗🌹

As a former sugar-aholic, I can promise you you'll feel much better once you remove sugar from your diet. It absolutely causes depression, lack of energy, and a lot of misery. Make some recipes that use erithritol (like Swerve) to get you through the first week that's really hard. Search keto desserts on Insta or Pinterest. You don't have to go dessert free, just get the sugar and high fructose corn syrup out, and you'll be much happier.

Hi Erin, I just discovered your channel today. It has given me hope.Thank you so much. I have put on massive amounts of weight over this COVID period. I truly hate myself and dare not look in the mirror. I am 48 years old and a single mum to a 9 year old boy. My life came crashing down once we went into lockdown, losing all my supports and feeling so demotivated which had been creeping into my life and feeling tired, weight coming on and feeling blah. I have recently been promoted at work and only started a new job at the start of the year. I must be doing something right, I guess? Well, you have truly inspired me to get out of the sweat pants and dress to start feeling good, wear some make up and be love myself again. I have been testing a few new things over the past month. I have gone back to taking Happy Hormones, it has changed my life; getting up earlier and exercising. I love the quiet and I have some space for me. I'm loving Moms Into Fitness. This seems to work for me and I am just taking tiny steps and tweaking things here and there. You are truly authentic and so inspiring without being contrived. I do not need to feel guilty or bad or that something is wrong with me and that it is OK to try something different and see if it works for me. As you say, this won't work for everyone and this is a journey of self discovery and what worked then may or will not work now and all this is fine. I honestly can't thank you enough and I cried right along with you. I can't wait to feel that feeling of being me again. I can't wait to watch more of your inspiring videos and and feel supported and guided on my journey. Thank you and hugs. PS. Sorry for the super long post.

Thanks so much for your transparency! You look glowy & amazing! At almost 46, my weight has been up & down since starting to have my children in my 20's. I was finally at a great weight, but got pregnant with twins at 35. My weight spiraled back out of control again for years. I then lost the weight when my doctor told me I was prediabetic. I was fitting into all my pre pregnancy clothes and felt great! Then lo & behold the stresses of life took over & 4 years later I started to put the weight back on. I gained even more being on quarantine. I'm so embarrassed that I am back to the weight I was 6 years ago. I need to lose 25 lbs. At 5'8, people can't really tell how much I weigh due to my height & long limbs. But, I know the difference in how my clothes fit me. I do have signs of menopause going on, and my body does not respond like it used to to the things that once made me lose weight. Intermittent fasting was effective, but caused my blood pressure to spike for whatever reason??? I have to find the motivation again from within. You have inspired me to try again. Thank you! ❤

Petra du Plessis look at Barbara Hoffman, Hope for your Hormones, here on YT. She used to sell vaginal suppositories with different mg. Of Estrogen. Now big Pharma made any natural products that work taken away from public. But, fortunately one can still buy these suppositories, which is good to keep moist and healthy. Although their is fear mongering agenda on Estrogen, there estrogen that one needs is going directly to the area that needs this hormone. There’s is also Progesterone Cream. Besides that you need to do kegels, in order to stay strong there. Do the research, you can get a lot of healing! I started Plant base diet, helps also with the Hot Flashes, I have none! But learned it has to do with Progesterone levels. Meat and chicken (Animal Protein) has a lot of Hormones and will reek Havoc! Hope that helps

Busbee Style This happened to me as well. I gained about 5lbs all on my tummy area and nothing worked, Them I decided to try each diet for one month to see what worked. I eat Vegan food except once a month when I have red meat. Make a long story short, what worked for me was cutting starch. I eat fruit, vegetable, nut, healthy fat on regular basis. Have dark chocolate or chia pudding made with almond yogurt and limit alcohol consumption by to a few times a month. I also have been doing intermittent fasting and that has been amazing, it reduced your “grazing times” :-). So in short, see what works for you. my husband is on a completely different food choices and he is very slim, so listen to your body and you will be in a good place.

Loo Loo, I suggest start with checking your hormones. They play a huge role in weight gain/loss during menopause. Once you figure it out, you can work on your diet and exercise. For me, after 2 years of not being able to lose anything, once I started going to a nathuropat and adding a low carb high fat diet and exercise, it really helped. I am now where I used to be before menopause, at 114-115 lbs. I also recommend Dr. Mindy Pelz. You can find her on CZcams, she is great and helping women in menopause/perimenopause.

I always describe it as your body protecting you from being put on an ice floe or have your tribe leave you behind; it’s building up lower belly reserves to keep you alive. I’ve always been tiny, I had a hysterectomy at 45 but kept my ovaries and hit menopause at 48 and it’s been maddening. Thank you for posting this.

I love the Tracy Anderson workouts after a month, I am finally seeing results my legs look thinner and my shoulders have definition. Ive been doing the intermediate every other day and the multitask workout in between, I'd say I work out 5 days a week, instead of everyday. Everyday, as suggested by the TA method seems really hard for me. I'm not doing the dance cardio mainly because the intermediate is so hard and I'm sweating and panting so it feels like it's enough. I haven't gotten to advanced and wondering how often you do the advanced and how long it took you to get there. I am still stopping my intermediate videos every 10 min to catch up my breath. Im not sure when to transition to advanced. I do want faster results of course but even 6 days doing intermediate all the way through feels like a lot for my body...and I'm 34.

    Hi Erin.
I'm 62 and have struggled with my weight since going through menopause at age 49! Like you I have hypothyroidism but since the age of 32, so it feels like everything is against me! BUT I am going to change up a few things like you have and see if it helps me, as calorie counting and miles and miles of walking are getting me nowhere. Thanks for your videos, always look forward to them. Keep safe, hugs from Scotland UK.

I was right there with you. I am 61, and since I turned 60, I’ve lost 35 pounds of the 50 I put on due to menopause and health problems. I recognize at my age, I will never be rail thin again, and it’s okay. A little weight helps fill in the facial wrinkles a lot better than any kind of facial work. I look good to me, and that’s the only thing that matters. I have done Keto, WW, the pink drink, high injections, and so many other plans. Nothing worked for me until at age 60, I started Fitness with Lindsay.com. My diet is not as strict as the one Erin’s done. FWL has more protein in it so I feel full, never crazy hungry. I can stay on this diet for the rest of my life, and I do get ice cream, Chilly Cow or Halo-each has a lot of protein, so it helps me meet my protein goal. My husband has lost 20 pounds with a few tweaks to his diet. There are many diet paths, and you might have to try different plans to find the right path for you. Don’t give up!

Hi Erin! You made me tear up as you shared your experience and started to cry. So happy you got to a place that allows you to feel more like yourself and successfully reached your goal. As for me, I'm uncomfortable in my own skin so I get the emotion you were experiencing. It does suck.
I gained weight from thyroid issues and then menopause made it worse. You're right about the things you used to do not working, but now I can't even do what I used to do. I also gained weight where I never had before. I've always carried most of my weight in the hips and thighs but after menopause everything shifted. I now gained weight on my back, waist and chest. I'm 5'8" and used to be btw 120-130 lbs. I was never of an athletic build but I was pretty trim. Now, I look like I'm 7-8 months pregnant... all the time! The initial thyroid failure caused a weight gain of 80 lbs in just a few months and my L5 disc became enflamed which caused permanent nerve damage. I've managed to lose 20-25 lbs which took several years to lose but I'm still about 50 lbs overweight. Now all of my lumbar discs are bulging so my exercise options are limited. I'm doing my best to accept myself as I am but for a while I didn't even recognize myself when I looked in the mirror. I stopped wearing makeup, doing my hair and the thought of trying on outfits would literally make me nauseous. I gave up on myself without even realizing it.
It's a struggle every day but now I'm making an effort to take care of myself regardless of how much I weigh. My priority is healing physically but I'm working on improving my self-care and appearance. The self-care is no easy task because of the negative inner chatter that takes all my energy to shut up. It can be overwhelming and exhausting, but I take a breath and start fresh. I can't invest in a new wardrobe right now but I just bought a few pieces that will be nice additions to work with the few items of clothes that do fit. These new pieces will also work when I lose the weight so I'm not wasting money. I've also had an unexpected improvement in my hair texture (the result of taking food grade diatomaceous earth which I mentioned in a separate comment to one of your hair videos) that has helped me feel a little bit more like myself. I'm taking it day by day to unlearn the negative conditioning and habits from the past several years to tap back into my awesomeness and see myself in an authentic light.
Your videos have been very helpful with insights and tips as an older woman in becoming your best self. You are beautiful, inside and out. Thank you!!!

Erin, I was beginning to feel so overwhelmed with everything I was reading about various ways to deal with belly fat and the perimenopause. I'm 46, in perimenopause, have been on Estrogel and oral progesterone for 1 year. I have never had to worry about weight and always had a balanced diet and used to be a fitness instructor. Diagnosed Coeliac for 10 years so diet is under even more scrutiny. BUT I have put on so much weight round my belly, thighs and upper arms and I cannot shift it, part of the issue is I experience poor sleep, low energy levels and joint aches and pains, so exercising regularly is proving very difficult. I am devastated as I cannot fit in most of my jeans and clothing. I hate my health and my body. I have stumbled across your video and I am going to watch your others and try and adopt what you have done, you are an inspiration and your photos are the evidence I have to see it works. Here goes!!
