      I do my best to keep the peace 😅 The rc8 is much louder & deeper in tone so that’s the one that really wakes the street up lol!

      I recommend to: remove all connections from Stator to Regulator, fit SH847 Regulator, fit 150amp solenoid, 16mm batt cables and a Yuasa YTZ14BS Battery. starts and charges like a dream now! (protect your stator and sprag clutch!)

    I had one in 2005. Be aware of the stator burning up and the wires melting. Plus the clutch will need bleeding quite a bit and the rear brake is useless.

    Completely under rated bikes in their time and even today, which is why I enjoy my 2008 so much. Whenever you think of big twins that won races in 2000's you immediately think Ducati. Everyone forgets how very capable this bike is - despite being a great sport bike it just didn't compete well. I don't know what other bike produces this much bang for the buck while having this much personality.

      They are worth so little nowadays. The Rotor engine is indestructible. The electronics are very good. You can't go wrong buying one. It is an analog bike, no rider aids, respect the machine or it will punish you in the most brutal way. Anything with 150Hp will go plenty fast no matter how old.

    • @MegaVinny73
      @MegaVinny73 Před 2 lety

      @@stoneautomotive the 04/05 bikes are under a global recall for the issue, which as I'm reading remains in place today, due to the nature of the issue. It's an easy visual check to see if you have the one that can go bad and I'd make this check no matter what Aprilia state, as if you Google the issue, you'll quickly establish why, bikes that went back to the shop, not all changed them before handing the bike back by sounds of it. If you have the original, I'd suggest calling an Aprilia dealer, have the VIN to hand.
      The one I'm looking at has the original swingarm and unless it can be resolved quickly (depending on lead times and work being scheduled) I'll walk away. If your already an owner with an original swingarm, just need to get it sorted.

    • @tedmarakas2626

      I don't think that the recalls go away. Once the NTSA issues a recall, the manufacturer has to fulfill the repairs. I remember when working for Mercedes Benz as a tech, I was given a $3,000 exhaust to install on a 25 year old POS that was worth about $3. The whole thing was rotten but Mercedes had to perform the recall.
