      Normally I would agree that it should've been given out, but if we're being really accurate you'd have to negate all 3 wickets because all 3 were taken via the doosra. I am aware that Saqlain is comfortably the cleanest of the doosra bowlers, but my eyes still tell me that even his doosra was a chuck. I think there's a very good reason we've not seen that style of doosra delivered by anyone in world cricket since the ICC crackdown on illegal actions circa 2014. There are plenty of offspinners who bowl a delivery that turns away from the right hander, but they are all some variation of a carrom ball, flicked from the front of the hand rather than this style.

    Nostalgic, absolutely nostalgic. Time flies. I remember the days there was no live broadcast and we used to listen live commentary on radio. These were absolutely finest of the cricketing years in the history with so many greats in the game all playing. This was the dawn of dominating Gilchrist era and pak bowling at its summit. Pak should have won this game but nevertheless they fought well.

    I have watched this test match live on final day just because of Adam Gilchrist. I knew that as long as Adam Gilchrist is their in the crease Australia's winning chances are more. During this time only Australia had consecutive 16 test matches wins. Finally that winning streak had been comes to an end after India's magnificent win at Kolkata in the year 2001 after giving follow on by the visitors in the first innings to India. Thanks to that superb 350 runs partnership for the 5th wicket between two great test batsman Dravid and Laxman.

    This match had all the ingredients of a classic Test match. Fans can witness the magic of every star here. McGrath troubling batsmen to Shoaibs pace and Saqlain's fifer. Slater grinding it out for his 97. Warnes magic with the ball followed by Inzi and Anwar's elegant knocks. And then comes the partnership that redefined chaising in Test matches. Bit lucky with no DRS then but the star Gilchrist was born in this game.

    Aus from 190/1 to 242 all out in 1st innings then half team out in 2nd innings that too under 150. What a bowling unit Pak had that time. Great spinner Saqlain, Fast bowlers and all rounder Azhar. Watching this after disappointing performance of Pakistan in CWC 2023. 😢

    what a team we had in the 90s. every player had his own swag. Really miss this era. This team had the ability to win overseas. Could have won this game as well if langer was given out. But its sad to see how innocous our team has become now a days specially in overseas conditions. We often lose without even giving a fight and even lose the match from winning positions.(1st test against england 2020) :/

    I still remember this match. Pakistan got screwed by the umpires. After losing half of the side in the 2nd innings. Gilchrist and Langer were out on several occasions but were saved by the umpires every time.

      dear as an indian i watched the whole test match live langer was not out in the first innings and in the second innings on 76 the nick had happened score 190 for 5 that time still gilchrist simply destroyed pak bowling wasim shoaib saqlain could not dislodge him so give credit to Australia team dominance then whining on pak defeat.

      He was something special. Made it look so easy. Split second reaction with such grace same as his batting. The Waugh brothers were incredible for Australia.

    There are no denying that Gilchrist in his second International test match only, played gem of the innings, however poor umpiring also helped Aussies get past 360+ target. Those days, umpiring standards used to be biased for sure.

      @Camelpiss drinker Nabi Muhammad aus were the best team in the world starting after 1993..lost in pak in 1994 but beat pak in 1995,1998,99 and 02..beat the windies in 95,97,draw 99..never lost to sa until 2009..aus from around 92-2010 was the best side by a mile

      Had there been DRS, AUS🇦🇺 would've thrashed PAK🇵🇰 by an innings 😁. There were many reprives given to the Pakistanis by the umpires which are not shown in this highlights package.

    I remember watching this one live and was gutted to see Akram being denied the wicket of Justin Langer who was clearly out caught behind. A horrendous decision that cost Pakistan the match they richly deserved to win. What a knock by Inzi, what a spell by Saqlain the magician.
