Hey there! Map designer here! It was so fun watching this playthrough. I wish I had known beforehand and could have watched live. Couple quick notes: At 1:25:23 I think Shrey got a sneaky discount paying $6 for three tiles when he should have paid $9 since snow had already fallen in those top bands. Also at 2:03:51 Jon played correctly (by the rules) but strategically missed the opportunity to remove the snow cube on his link from Niagara Falls, ON to Niagara Falls, NY. He had a 3 loco but only made a single link delivery and did not use any of the remainder to remove snow. This was intensified by how desperately Jon wanted Production in the following round to remove that same cube he could have already removed for free, giving him the option to choose a different action. I will also mention that while the acrylic tiles do look stunning on this map, I had no idea they were going to be offered when I designed and pitched this map and all of my playtesting was with the normal cardboard tiles and I didn't find the map as difficult to read with the cardboard tiles as you might imagine. But the acrylic tiles ARE great! :)

There’s a lot of great looking maps, but there’s something so elegant about Ian O’Toole’s work on the map packs that make them a cut above the rest.

needing certain actions, leads to bidding high, leads to less money, leads to taking more shares, leads to playing catch up/staying afloat. The snow both costing you a loco or more therefore lessoning your income and causing a higher payout, and then making laying track more expensive, even by a buck, all compounded into money being much more tighter on this map. Things snowballed. Am I on to something or completely off? I'm also not suggesting to cooperatively play nice, or I've got the solution after watching one play, but there is probably something to not clearing snow that will fall again next round, or will get removed itself from the white cubes running out (rare I'm sure). Plan as best as possible to take deliveries south fleeing snow at the start, then take deliveries north at the endgame as snow has cleared. Interesting map to fiddle with for sure.

For Ken's last cube, I think I would have given 2 to Edward instead of 1 to Martin, since he was in the lead.

Since Martin was ledged, giving him that one actually cost Martin 3 points, so it was the obvious play.

@@coldboarded True I missed that. I had it on in the background and looked back right at the end.
