I would love to see a play-through of Arcs!!
thank you for starting with the big ideas!
Commercials every five minutes it seems on this video. But it still cost me the price of the game. I just can't resist any more.
Thanks for the video
Awesome video! At 1:26:00, there is a discussion about which direction to move the ship. I thought that the direction of ship is pre-determined before the start of a dozyear, and cannot be changed (even at Sol with speed 0). Otherwise, there is no reason to set ship orientation during setup (C7b). Is this correct?
Ah, finally some good games being played here.....
I was just searching heavy cardboard and Coin…. expecting a list of plays… to my surprise…. Only one play and it was just recorded recently.
Tramways is so good! Good stream! For your next stream of this remember that when you build a building add passenger to it(the same when you upgrade one). And when you travel over a upgrade link you earn a 50% more rounded up for that link!
I'm looking forward to the Spirit Island stream! As sad as it makes me that you don't do co-op on HC, Spirit Island as a co-op live stream is just about undoable IMO: simultaneous actions are *so* not compatible with streaming! OTOH, what about a 6-player Teams Variant Concordia?
1:10:30 isn't delivering a passenger to Industrial *also* one stress?
59:30 it seems to me that step one in this particular puzzle is planning out the order that you deliver the customers, because you need to ensure that they don't come back *unless you will be able to deliver them again*. You lost this game on turn 3 (you just didn't know it). It's a tough game, but not my sort of solo game (Spirit Island would be that). Like many others, I'm waiting on the Tramways reprint.
Do you know if a tramways reprint is coming? Long out of print right
No, there will be no reprint what I understand from the KS comments page. But the KS campaign for workbook 2 is still going and you can order workbook 1 with it.
Or do you mean tramways the boardgame? I don’t know anything about that one, sorry.
OMG that board. Who approved that? Honestly sorry but that is one of the most hideous things I have seen in a while AND also makes it unnecessarily difficult to parse the game state. I will stick to Chicago Express. PS: Unbelievable that player cube colors are the same as the terrain type colors. Wow!
What a terrific design. I own the first book and I love love the idea of these puzzle game that leverage the actual rules from the game!
I only apply thumbs when martin the elder reminds me. Its my favorite part aside from the glory to romes
These where randomly selectedn. Meaning I selectedthem out off camera". I bet the house holds a decent percantage of any bets Signore...
La Granja knock off.
Care to elaborate? In my view it’s an improvement over La Granja. Much more freedom to pursue different strategies. More interesting interaction as well which I dig a lot.
It would be great to get an "upgrade pack" for this game that comes with prequel ships/units/cards/leaders. Honestly get a double sided map, prequel/sequel; incorportate some tv material in like Andor, Mandalorian, Bad Batch; get the units/leaders/cards etc. for all it; throw it all in one big box and it would sell out instantly.
I've played this twice, both against the same person and both as the Rebels. My first game I took a feet into the Death Star with the plans, rolled just under what I needed, already had recrutied Luke and the "one in a million" card, used it, and blew up the Death Star. Most freaking epic first play. Second play I outlasted the timer, obviously can't be as exciting, but it was sweet to grind one out and suceed. It's so daunting being the Rebels.
Are we enjoying the steam, YES! It would be great to see this played on May 4 or 5, and either a couple days before/after Christmas.
Really happy to see you guys covering COIN on the channel. I agree with the sentiment that wargames have a reputation for complexity, but are for the most part no more difficult that heavy eurogames. In my opinion they are often more straightforward to understand as the things you are doing are more literal and less abstract that many eurogame concepts. Would love to see you cover more COIN. Andean Abyss is the obvious next step (its like big Cuba Libre), but All Bridges Burning, People Power, the British Way or Vijayanagara would all offer something different at the lower complexity end before getting into 'the big stuff'.
26 min and we get a Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie from the Rebel player, let's freaking go!! Rebellions are built on hope!
What a way to play the game - with the designer! Excited to try this one out with my group. Thank you for the high quality setup and play through. Now I wish I got the metal coins!
Glad you enjoyed it and it’s always great to have friends, who happen to be designers, join us for their games! Cheers!
Thanks for clearing things up with the assembly of the components. I almost threw out the dual layered player board thingys. I couldn't figure out if they were stuff or just excess crap. I'm lucky I saved them until now. I'll try and build them when I'm about to play it over the weekend.
Glad to hear that helped. When we were struggling thru the assembly, I knew I’d have appreciated that info so wanted to make sure to share it with y’all. Cheers!
@@Heavycardboard This was very useful! I was watching this video originally while working so missed that you detailed that. I should have paid attention, but thankfully got it in the end.
I'm looking forward to Rising Sun as well.
1:19:23 Martin the younger should have had 3 blue buy chips at this point in front of him, I don't think it mattered.
53:54 Martin the older didn't draw his +1 card after playing his Baker. Obviously could have changed the rest of that turn and change his next turn, but (shrug).
new version just released the art on the board is even worse
Updrade Pig to Ham costs 4 not 3, it's a misprint on the player boards.
Jess is pretty clever!
just ordered today....37:55 lacerda games always intimidate me but after careful study the gallerist seemed the easiest for my feeble brain to understand..CO2 was a close second.....
great explanations and detail. Thanks
I was so close to screaminng at the screen :D Spoilers Edward could have forced a lot (probaly a win) by moving to the last location in the hinterlands and revealing. Also, Alyssa should still have a shot at winning in the last turn by playing the Deed Writer, negotiating for a secret with Shrey, recovering the darkest secret and moving somewhere safe. Thanks for uploading these videos, you're lovely and I adore the games! Looking forward so much to getting this on the table again! Althought, I might have learned to much from you :P
This was just lovely to watch. Thank you for reminding me how much I enjoy this title, and with a solo mode, there is no excuse not to bring it back to the table. Cheers
When you build a building, where does it go...on your board, to the side of your board? At the start of a new round, do you choose from the remaining 10 cards in your deck, or do you include the 5 you played in the previous round before choosing the 5 cards you want to play this round?
You can tell that you guys really, really enjoyed playing this. Great stream.
Thank you so much for this teach. I've become especially fond of the teaches and play throughs on this channel. It feels like the kind of teach I would receive if I was sitting at the table getting ready to play.
Really enjoyed this, as mentioned by others, clear view of what's going on and plenty of banter and explanation of why each faction is choosing what they're doing. Nice sleight of hand by the Syndicate in Pinar del Rio at 2:49:57 - clearly learned that on the card tables of Havana :-) I was watching the rest seriously concerned that it was going to swing the result! Pretty sure that's what led to the spot of the mismatch in government support at 3:19:30. Can't trust the mob!
Loved the A Tribe Called Quest - What's the scenario reference. :D
I'm curious to crack this one open when it arrives. The campaign system sounded interesting. And the gameplay seems relatively simple.
Excellent teach and playthrough! We've had this sitting on the shelf for a while, this will likely get it to the table.
How does this compare to Lisboa? Does Lisboa have the multitude of steps that this does?
Love the discussion
Best playthrough of a COIN on CZcams - would love to see you try out Fire in the Lake
Oh wow. I read this book last year - "Red Meat Republic" - on the US beef industry in general and parts of it in and connected to Chicago in particular. Remember thinking "this could really make a great heavy economic board game". Glad someone beat me to it - can't wait to check this out.
i know edward hates this....but 1,580 ft(2540km)
how can people in the live chat not realize how sinister this game is...and that is a high compliment..this game is crunchy and thought provoking and fun..also every game ever printed with cards has a random element but people still play and enjoy them...this is a 10 out of 10 for me....
Brilliant game!
Lol After watching the whole video I went back to the beginning to check Edwards statement: "This is the civil disorder action, it may never get taken, if so it will be less fun" 😂
Would love to see a stream, base or campaign!
