For the window, you don't need to use the wooden plank. you can make strong blocks of dirt, and put them on top of each other, each getting closer to the middle than the last, while adding weight (more dirt) on the outside. this will make for an archway type of window, which looks really good.
I hope you can make that your home base in the woods. Add more tall poles inside the house in the floor and add more slabs and smooth down the walls with mud. Complete covering the walls. Add thick branches as window bars for more safety. Add a THATCHED roof too! It would be nice to see you come back to it once in a while. 😊
