    Excellent conversions adding more poses to the limited set of British on Crete.

      Yes it was! I'm glad that PP carries the torch for Conte. I was always so disappointed that Conte never did German Paratroops, but Plastic Platoon made it up for everybody!

    Actually the Blitzkrieg strike on the Belgian forts by German paratroops was the first real use of them. Crete saw the same much lauded aparatroops mauled so badly by the British, that Hitler never used them again in such fashion again.

    Id like to see you actually do a conversion in an episode. Like, how do you fill in gaps after cutting, etc.

  • @chrisleach8009

    You do know there were a good many Australian and New Zealanders on Crete . As for your toy soldiers they look a good deal like 8th Army troops

    • @ThePlasticGeneral
      @ThePlasticGeneral  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes I do know about them, but of course I'm limited on how many sets I should cover during the course of an episode balancing figures, Vehicles, talking and a big battle all within 15 minutes. When I do cover these sets, they will be fighting the Japanese in the jungle!

    Plastic Platoon are the best sculpted toy soldiers on the market! I love the details they put into every figure of their! What figures did you use for the dinky vehicles?

    • @ThePlasticGeneral
      @ThePlasticGeneral  Před 2 lety +1

      Those British figures were created by a long out of business company called FRONTLINE FIGURES, who did stuff for the Metal hobby. Those were the two metal crew figures that came with the very Rare 1:32 Churchill Tank.

    • @rwcowell
      @rwcowell Před 2 lety

      @@ThePlasticGeneral I remember that Frontline Churchill tank. Frontline had some decent stuff but pricey. I was hoping FOV or 21stC would have offered a 1/32 Churchill tank, but never happened.

    That Britains Howitzer is a modern gun, not a WWII gun, originally Britains released it to go with their Modern British Infantry that were Herald figures

      Yes, I have two of those myself. It's a PAK howitzer of Italian design I believe and can be adjusted to a lower profile to be used in an anti-tank mode. I remember seeing real ones in use on Salisbury Plain back in 1969.

    I think you need to sort your terminology out, The Bren is a light machine gun, all bipod machine guns are light machine guns more or less. The Vickers tripod mounted machine gun is a medium machine gun, there are no heavy machine guns. Bofors is pronounced "Bow...fors" not "Boo...fers"
