  • If you want to DJ in clubs it's best you know how to beat-match by ear, don't worry you can still match the BPMS of both tracks visually, but then you'll need to use your ears to sync up the beats manually.

      holy no visuals, it works in serato as well, this helpful with beatmatching cause for me rekordbox and FLX4 tiempo control on mac is all over the place. GAME CHANGER. Thanks again.

    I tell beginners to move the platter back (counter clockwise) first. Then move it forward until the beats line up. This removes the confusion caused when beginners aren’t sure if they are ahead or behind because you know you are behind so the solution is to move forward.

    I hate to disturbe my neighbors. So in the evenings i only mix in my headphones. What i learnd about that is that i play even better and do more clean EQ mixing this way.

    Ive been watching your page for quiet some time now, Im just wondering, mostly clubs in the philippines plays rnb or spotify songs, doesnt need to beatmatch. Any specific mixing I can do simply?

      If playing songs from a phone using youtube or spotify. Than you can not call your self a Dj. To beat match are the first thing all new beginner Djs have to learn. And when you learn that and start to pick up more experience you get hooked 👊 it's just like drugs, you want more and more.

      Where in the PI are you? I was there a couple years ago and there were not only good DJ’s but modern equipment as well. It was a small club that looked like it wasn’t the only place that had something going on either. This was in cebu, not in the provinces. Out there I understand there’s not much going on in the way of nightlife but even in palompon, leyte, they had a club with what sounded like a DJ to me but we never made it inside far enough to see.

      In clubs like that it's most fading between tracks and the skill isn't the transitions, the skill is picking the perfect track and uniting everyone on the dance floor and waving between the sub genres of RNB, pop and some commercial dance. It's less about mixing and more about track selection, but this doesn't mean you can't raise the bar and beat-match and mix rnb and pop. Check out my course, it covers this in detail, has a whole section, that's wort the course fee alone: www.clubreadydjschool.com/club-ready-dj-course/

    I get the idea of how to beat match, but how do you beat match so they're in phrase? Surely that'd take forever?

    • @ClubReadyDJSchool
      @ClubReadyDJSchool  Před 3 měsíci

      Hit play on phrase then nudge in the beats. You'd benefit majorly form my course - not just saying that but your question is correct but you could use some guidance. I have a spring sale, check it out: www.clubreadydjschool.com/club-ready-dj-course/

      @@caramg1988 Hey - I'm in the course too. I know that feeling! This is one thing that takes time, and hours of drills (honestly, a lot longer than most tutorials make out). But don't give up, you must be v close, that 'I wanna cry' feeling is so normal. And re your 1st Q, digital gear makes this easy because you can set cue points. First get your two tracks at exactly the same BPM. Once you've worked out the BPM and Track A is playing, hit a hot cue on Track B (you need to set some hot cues / cue points on all your tracks). Then hit play on Track B on the 1st beat of the next phrase in Track A, nudge the jogwheel to adjust, should only need slight adjusting if you hit start on time. Then you'll have 8 or 16 bards be in sync to start bringing up the EQ on Track B in time for the next phrase. Hope that helps. Hang in there!! You'll feel so amazing once you get it!
