I added so much new content and bonus material - I have been devoting so much love and energy to it these past few months, hopefully you like :)
This guy is like the Bob Ross of DJing. Such a happy person. Love it
This is so accurate
He’s crying inside!
Right 😂
thats why these feel so familiar lmao
Happy Beats🥹😉
“If you’re not sure, you’re close.”
Gonna start living by that.
Been living it my whole life, seems I'm always unsure these days. Just try not to be unsure when having sex lol!
Love how he's so genuinely happy while teaching stuff, pretty wholesome
It's funny, it's not like I'm happy all the time, but I am happy once I start teaching!
@@ClubReadyDJSchool you are awesome. Was really helpful for me, thanks 🙏
I just love the way this guy explains things, I’ve been djing for 8 years more or less, and I’ve always wanted someone as good as this guy to tech me with this good vibe and determination, thanks for that mate
totally thissss!
Have you ever watched Ellaskin's tutorials? 🙂
that's just right
yeah right ! he tranmists such a great energy that you want learn all of that haha
From a DJ here who started on vinyl 25 years ago, this is sage advice. Even with sync on newer gear, you need this foundational skill. Great video brother!
Appreciate that, sorry for slow reply
Amen!
Do you though....really?
If you're using your own, pre-prepped tracks then the sync button does it quicker and better.
I suspect this will be the last generation who even thinks about this stuff.
Late reply, but yes even with all your tracks prepped to perfection, you still need these fundamentals. Different key snares for example can sound of even tho their grids are synced perfectly. This needs some micro adjustments on the fly.
These explanations are the best I've seen on beatmatching, no doubt. Add to that your absolutely non-menacing and non-exclusive encouraging and willing to share attitude, and the result can only be one: You're a great teacher.
Wow, thanks! this means a lot to me.
I have been DJ'ing for over a decade......and you sir have a special gift for teaching this stuff. You also have some incredible thoughts and tips on how to get better that I have never seen other DJs talk about. You are a nation treasure. Thank You
Mixing on high hats is the tightest way to beat match, I was taught this over 20 years ago using vinyl. Nice 1 for sharing this on a vid for others to learn
Dude love the cheer and enthusiasm! Great video - very helpful!
I've only been practising DJing since the weekend, so I'm totally new to this at 43. This is by far the best way I've heard this explained, and I've been watching lots of videos. Looking forward to getting some practice in. Great video
"If you are not sure, you are close" ❤
you are such a joy to watch and listen to! thank you for the video!
i've been mixing for atleast 5 years and I still watch this, don't know why... had nobody to learn me back then i was learning by myself and i think its the best way, but the way you show and explain to people is awesome, also what helped me mostly about beatmatching techno is that i went on full on oldschool equipement with DJM 400 and CDJ 350 , therefore u dont have visuals only track lenght and your ears, best way to learn how to beatmatch, no need to cover anything :) what also got me better in beatmatching is my playstyle i love to mix tracks 130-133 bpm with hardtechno 142+ , those are way off from each other and once u get them together feeling is increadible :D
If you're using rekordbox, press Space bar to hide the waveforms.
Definitely the hi's/mids are a better option. Especially so when I play bass/deep dubstep where it's easier to match the snares than the kick.
I subscribed to this channel because he always smile. He brings positivity while im learning. thank you for the vibe 😉😉
Thanks for subbing!
finally someone has managed to explain the link btween bpm and jogwheel when beatmatching that made sense. finally finally finally
Been DJing since the 80's during the era of vinyl, and I used to train DJs back then as well. We had nothing buy vinyl, so there was no way we could loop intros or instrumental breaks, All we had was a manually counted BPM. I still spin today, but looking back, I've always felt all those who wanted to be DJs should start on vinyl. They would immediately learn these basics of beat matching. Your video brings back memories of the old days!
Great video! I agree about the highs, I truly feel the beats are "locked in" when you get those highs in line. It gives that "crisp" feeling. Beat matching is all about "feeling." Once you get it, you will "feel" when the beats lock in.
Yea it makes sense since snare and hi hats shorter "notes" than the kick therefore you don't have much room for error so it will be more precise but harder to master.
Hey Andrew I just came home pretty tired ready to chill and watch some of your videos in view only mode. Well not possible so I am standing behind my new DDJ-400 practising to beatmatch now. Your energy and vibes are truly amazing. Thanks man! Super excited to do the beginner course. 🙌🏽
4:04 "If you're not sure, you're close." Man, that's reassuring. I didn't know I needed to hear that. 💯
One of the most useful tutorial for real beat matching, so far! Thanks a lot, Andrew! 🙏
You'r fantastic, and I truthly believe that you inspire lots of djs. I'm a begginer and I love the way how you make it's seems djing is easy. It's not, it's an art and it must have lots of pratice. You'r a great teacher. Thank you very much for all, and for that hhappiness.
I appreciate that!
This is really great, Phil. As a beginner who is doing twitch, but about to start having some live gigs, I realy wanted some things to practice so I don't sound like I bought the controller that morning. Lovely things like this give me actionable things to play with!
This is definitely the best video on DJing I ever found so far. I keep coming back.
after 5 months of boring beat matching practise, i wish i could seen your video sooner, thank you!!
Dude you’re awesome ive been watching your vids for a couple months and it’s drastically improved me since day one. To see how genuine you are about the art and the music is such a dope thing! Youre stuff its truly helpful keep it up🤙🏼
Coming from vinyl and without saying it after the fact, the highs are what I use and have always used for beat matching...You are absolutely right, the precise limited sound of the highs make it the best way to beat match, in my humble opinion and until I switched to Denon gear, the blue in the RGB waveform and the way it is laid out in Traktor and Rekordbox, give you the same reference point.....Awesome vid, cool vibes! Thanks so much.
I have been watching your videos for sometime and I absolutely love that atmosphere and the way you teach, I will definitely be joining soon 🔥
What a great teacher! Thanks for getting us all excited and sharing your enthusiasm with us. Cheers!
Love it!! Your teaching and your energy is fantastic!!!
Your energy alone is so inspiring! I'm transitioning from my comp to newer club decks so I really appreciate your videos! Thank your =)
Out of all the videos I’ve watched on beat-matching, your method sticks. I love it 🔥
Man I love this guy so much, he teaches with ease and he looks so happy doing so, keep up !
Awwww you're so sweet and smiley, Andrew. You've made me feel so much clearer about my DJing, and the way you explain techniques actually make sense - and I remember what you teach. I mean thinking of the jog wheel as a clock, so simple... genius! :) The course is so worth it and so welcoming, no matter what level you're at eg, I got so much out of the material which I didn't expect. I've had musical training and a natural ear but had been winging it DJing for years, probably made it much harder for myself tbh!
From the core of my being THANK YOU mate, your energy and enthusiasm is just inspiring, plus your teaching method is just spot on!
Wow, thank you!
The best beat matching tutorial I have seen! Thanks for sharing your skills :)
Love your energy bro 🙌🏽
haha I rarely say this on a video, but man this dude is so likable. I wonder if he's just a generally happy and nice guy. Helpful tutorial and easy to watch.
Great video and that’s a great tip about the high hats / treble EQ for fine tuning beat matching. People think it’s the bass beats, actually easier to spot the issue with high hats. Never see this mentioned anywhere 👍
Definitely learned something today. Thank you Andrew!! Love your work
Lik ima neverovatnu energiju, sve pohvale ! BRAVO !
Always love your vids, super helpful and love your energy
Great Video! Your energy and the way you explain things is just amazing.
You really have pushed my method to beat match and use Pioneer Gear.
thank you, please keep on going!
That's a metaphor for life: "if you're not sure... You're close.." and that alone made the watch worth, you boss 😎...
I love that quote!!! "if you're not sure, you're close" - i made it up, but you're right, it's relevant and can be applied to how I feel this very moment lol!
Amazing teacher with a smile
thank you so much!! you're such a lovely and inspiring person
Great tutorial! Great personality! Thanks for sharing your knowledge in this way! Love your content, as always. Happy Easter!
Thats Amazing advice! In my first gig 3 days ago where I was promised CDJ-2000s but got surprised with CDJ-900 , No hotcues , no Sync , No waveforms and I messed up first 3 songs of my beatmatching bcoz of the delay. This video is such a huge help!
Keep doing what you do, love the energy!
Thank you big time for the info and the tips and hints. => "Focus on what's truly important: Connecting like-minded people through music and creating world class atmospheres that leave people inspired and wanting more." Sign every word of that. That's what drives me when I play sets. Creating waves of positive energy to affect hearts and souls in a good way and have it multiplied by listeners in the best case.
in my existence as rather "young" DJ with about 2 yrs. of practical experience I can play more with beats meanwhile and I do feel them definitely better than at the start but proper beat matching by ear I still can't do (laziness and the availability of a synch button is one part of the problem 😁 ). Thanks for the inspiration, I'm going to practice again now (..in a bit 😀 ).
bought a pioneer DDJ-SR last week off impulse because I just love music so much and have pondered DJing but was caught up in the hard truth that I’ll have to be terrible before I’m great. Nobody likes to suck but I wanna do it for the love not for the results. You clearly got that love for it, for the art form and this video was super helpful! Keep it up cuz ur really helping us!
Love your energy! 💖 So friendly and engaging.
Hey! Awesome video as always! And thank your for taking the time to teach all this even after the flooding.
Cheers from Uruguay!
Good ideas! Love love love you, Andrew!
Just graduated from DJ Academy and watching your video really saved me last night. As bestmatching has been my greatest challenge. ❤️
You are awesome! Thank you 4 the NRJ and the techtips!
great tips as always, cant find a more enthusiastic dj on youtube love your vids man
I love your videos so much, best DJ tutorials I’ve ever come across
Wow, thanks!
I’ve been following you for a while now. But I haven’t watch most of your beginners vids. This one auto played and when you got to the third way to beat match it made me smile. I learned on vinyl. And it took me more than 5 years to learn how to beat match. Being partially deaf in one ear. Also has left me close to tone deff. So the bass all blends together more often than not. So when I was learning how to mix. I had to find a marker in the music to use. Well I mix off the highs and mids. High hats or snares. To me they sound like a metronome, so those tones became my natural marker to mix on.
Keep up the good work!
From Melbourne Florida!
DjJohnkaoss
Man, you're phenomenal. Thanks for teaching this.
YOU ARE AWESOME!!! THANK YOU! - The hihat EQ trick is a great actually as the low end tends to mask the rest of the frequencies tricking our ears into thinking is on point. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you so much for such a great video!!! Love your energy and the tips are golden!!! Thank you!!!!
Been DJing since the late 80's...this video is great and spot on. Great job!
Key note...DJ is an Art Form! Not a hobby!!! Enjoy the craft!
"if you are not sure,..you are close",..great!!
mate you have such positive vibes! Thanks for your videos
Thank you a lot! Have been learning to beat
match using the principles from your vids and it's coming along nicely!
I've worked many types of decks for over 3 decades and followed the development of DJ equipment. Learning all types of styles, from looping, cutting and scratching vinyl of Funk and Hip Hip, blending Soul and an eclectic range of music, to beat mixing soundscapes of House music. I have also embraced the experimental and creative use that can be found in CD Decks and controllers. I know my stuff and have delivered DJing classes. You know your stuff and delivered a great tutorial here. Respect, peace and love to you.
Turning up the hi’s really is a gamechanger, thanks for sharing! 🔥
The way you're explaining you've convinced me to get your courses! Cheers man, I can't wait to get to work! 💪💪💪
This is awesome news!!!!! www.clubreadydjschool.com/club-ready-dj-course/
I love your enthusiasm! You got me feeling better about myself even though I not great. Keep up the great videos! House music all life long!
Awesome! Thank you!
Hey Andrew, Just bought the course, been watching you for a while and you've inspired me to get back into DJing (Used to play on 1210s and real vinyl back in the day!) using a DDJ1000 now and loving it. Looking forward to starting the course. Love your nature and approach
Thanks Tom and and sorry for slow reply - welcome aboard!!!!
Another fantastic tutorial. It’s inspired me to ditch the sync and explore manual beat matching 🙏🏻

I made a huge jump from where i was and where I am now (and still have a long way to go) - thanks to this man’s course and I’m looking forward to dig deeper and deeper because this journey is absolutely beautiful(hard but beautiful).

What a great video!
Well explained and putting a smile on my face 😊

What a shout using the highs as a clearer guide for beat matching I'll be trying this out when I'm putting my next mix together. 👍👍
I love your Mantras bro!!

Awesome, thank you!

Amazing video and love your enthousiasm!!!
Hey Andrew, absoloutly love this! I will get practicing! For anyone that hasn't purchased the full course yet what are you waiting for? Its the best investment I'v ever made!
That turn up the highs is a fantastic tip. Thanks buddy. Love yer vids.
Regardless of the fact that the video was incredibly educational, you are very likeable. I could listen to you explain things for hours. Keep it that way brother!
Thank you I love hearing this :) I know no other way!
Love your work ... teacher 🙌🙌
this is purely amazing and helpful
Love your video's Andrew, helped me a lot. Love your enthusiasm. We are going to practice more hours
Super helpful. Thank you very much.
This was the one thing that kept driving me nuts when mixing. I can beat match and I have used micro movements during long intros or outros but I just couldn't get my brain to function when it came to not using the wave form to beat match. Now I have something I can practice on specifically.
Nice tips for newbies……regarding understanding phrasing and beats…. I keep telling the kids that ask me about how music works to go and do a few step or aerobic classes…. Then they will start to realise when to hit the ‘1’ & how phrasing works. (Glad to see u back in your studio man)
Great tutorial and guide to beatmatching. Love it!
Amazing video, so helpful and well explained. Thanks
Super informative dude! Many thanks that tip for determining pitch is invaluable! so simple yet so good! Big thanks, big up and peace out 🙂
Great video, learnt loads. many thanks
