Italy’s classic Imola circuit marked a return for Formula One to Europe, and for Red Bull’s Max Verstappen to winning ways after a Stateside blip.
But, the Dutchman, struggling on the hard tyres, had to work for it, with Miami winner McLaren’s Lando Norris closing in to breathe fire down his neck over the last 10 laps - and no room for error with the Red Bull driver one track limit violation from being handed a five-second time penalty. Peter Windsor said something very interesting, after the Imola race, that some of his friends his friends thought that the FIA / F1 management asked the RB team to Sandbag the weekend to spice up the F1 ratings. Makes us think, doesn't it. ha-ha
