Zarko Paspalj was pretty great, he played a type of thinking man's b ball, all of them except Petrovic were great and willing passers. They ran the court extremely bc all of them could see the court and understood when to make a pass vs a bounce pass. Paspalj is overlooked bc he never got any playing time in that one year for the Spurs.

To those who are just now learning about Dino Radja, this guy and his generation, the guys he listed, were our Jordans and Magics. They were superstars, they were on TV, their cultural impact matching any of the guys you grew up watching. He seems so tame and humble when he speaks and you can ALWAYS barely hear him, but he was the definition of a beast on the court and introduced dunking and fast breaks and explosions to a continent with basically a bunch of skinny guys standing and passing until someone skyhooks it from deep. They went through a terrible time together where their countries were slaughtering eachother, and came out as fucking champions. I couldn't have asked for better role models. Great people achieve great things, and as surreal as this feels, this guy earned his spot in the Hall of Fame a million times over.
    Congratulations, champion.

One thing that I can't stand is when people are ungrateful.
But, it's great when you realize that your childhood heroes haven't disappointed you. I have followed Dino throughout his entire career and to see that he's showing genuine and heart-felt gratitude is a wonderful thing (he mentioned all his coaches and teammates who are Serbian, Bosnian, Montenegrian.... his COUNTRIES, physios and who not). I am from Montenegro and just loved that Jugoplastika team with Dino and Toni (my all time favourite basketball player), the Yugoslav U21 Bormio team (if you are from former Yugoslavia, you know what I mean), then I cheered Croatia in that Barselona "92 final....
Congratulations to Dino, the great MAN!

As i know, he was wearing Croatian national simbol on his heart, and protesting in the UN during the war in Croatia. Also, we all saw him play for CROATIAN national basketball team. For you, Barcelona silver means NOTHING ??? Hey boy, that was the greatest honour and success one team can achieve. Playing with one and only legendary dream, teamAlso, we all know that Dražen was born and raised in Sibenik. And that is Croatia, right ??? Sibenik is not in serbia ? Or yes ??? And even if he IS a serb, by his father, (which i'm not sure, coz i heard his father is from Herzegovina)the fact that his father choose Croatia to live and raise his kids says a lot. And the fact that Dražen never even mention serbia, but also choose to live and play for Croatia for me makes it all clear. And now, seeing you and your comment, i can see WHY they decide to do it all that way. I'm sure, in his position, EVERYBODY would do the same. No wonder that "big serbs" masively selling their houses to buy CRO passports and go in EU as a "CROATIANS". See, turkish horse bug, NOBODY wants to be a serb. No, Radja spent all of fall 1989 practicing against the Celtics, Bird included. He began maybe even in summer 1989, Jul, Aug or Sept. It was all a secret then, to pry him away from his Euro team due to a loophole. He left Boston in Dec. of 1989 or Jan. 1990. They lost the lawsuit, Radja had to return to Euro to honor his contract. That's how he knew Bird, guarding him in practice 3, 4, 5, months in 1989. There's a NYT or WaPo article on this.

Imagine if Len Bias and Reggie Lewis live. You have a new big 3 in the 90s with Bias, Lewis and Radja. I followed Radja during my college years. I never left the Cs during there darkest years. I enjoyed watching Radja, Walker, Barros, Fox, Montross, Ellison, DAy, Minor, Brown etc even most of the time they were on the losing end. Still Bleed Green.

The skill tree and lineage of Euro players really intrigues me. I'd love to see a guy like Dino in practice, doing things that didn't work on the court and who gave the idea or audacity to try those things

Don't like the close front camera view they did this time, don't think it was like that the other times its like the guy telling the news. Other than that great speeches overall, Radja great player

One of my fave post Bird Celtics player. He, Antoine Walker and Danna Barros. Too bad Rick Pitino sack him. I hope he played with then Rookie Paul Pierce. Radja, Walker and Pierce. Too bad it never happened.

Gotta be honest, wasnt sure why Dino Radja is in the NBA HOF, granted he is an incredibly gifted player (and a class act gentleman), I wasnt sure if his contributions (mainly NBA longevity) merited a HOF ballot. Nothing to do with race, I have the same issue with players like bill walton that didnt play long in the NBA, and while great players in their own right, arguably didnt have a long enough NBA resume (despite success elsewhere, college etc) to merit an NBA HOF induction.......Then I saw Larry Bird was escorting him in.......and I shut the fuck up lol
