  • It is time to make some hard choices on how to design and build the kitchen for the Medical Attack Vehicle Ambulance Camper Build. Options are a large kitchen, pass through to cab, inside shower entrance - need to look at all the options, advantages and disadvantages.

I have remodeled a van, liked you have done, and you show in 10 seconds what it took 8 hours to do. Most people don't understand the sweating, cussing, re-does, and aggrevation that go into it, but some of us do. You're doing GREAT !!

Hehe! I do a good bit of cussing - I'm sure my neighbors think I am quite unhinged. Being covered in soot everyday was just terrible - glad that is over. I try to keep a quick pace - not bore anyone. Each video always has over 30 min of footage which I boil down to under 10 min. Average watch time on my videos is 6 min - people have short attention spans. Each 10 min video covers 3 - 4 full days of working on the MAV. Thanks for the encouragement!

Always fun to hear you talk through your requirements and probable usage, while you are making decisions.
I always figure that planning, and evolving the plan takes longer than the implementation.

I enjoy showing people how I mess up. I get comments from people that they are afraid to try what I did. I am working to show that it is OK to mess up, just fix it or re-build it. It's always better the second time around anyway. I messed up bad today cutting the countertop but it turned out later to be a perfect error and solved a bigger problem later in the install. Is going to make a great video.

I like how you know you will want to make multiple versions. I have one too, one of the toughest pieces for me was getting rid of all the wiring. I have most of it gone now hundreds of pounds of extra weight that doesn't do anything anymore or really don't need. Taking that part slow is probably better just I would make the panels that cover the wiring easy to remove so when your parked some place you can figure out a section to get rid of at time.

Enjoying your videos. Fascinating to see what you are dealing with.
I would definitely go with a step-thru but with a cabinet on rollers that could just be pushed out of the way & pushed back. It’s just so nice to be able to go directly into the rig without going out into weather.
    Thank you for sharing!

Thank you! I do like the idea of a rolling cabinet and having a pass through. Check out the later videos on how the kitchen turned out - I finally got a sink put in last week. Thanks for your kind comments and for watching!

PSC Camper Conversions Will do. I’m learning a lot. You make me feel brave. Hope to try it one of these days!

I started knowing so very little and each little project made me more bold to try another one that was a bit more challenging. The thing just snowballed to where it has gotten today. You can do the same. You can learn to do anything with CZcams.

It's fun to work on these projects now - demolition was a bear. Finishing up flooring and starting cabinets now. Videos coming. Also installed an embedded 5,000 but a/c unit in the floor bin - works great.

Zowie! 🙂its really coming along! Isn’t it cool how the sink base will incorporate the ac unit? How many weeks has it been since you bought the MAV home? Will you be getting a cabinet maker for the cupboards or will stock ones work out ok? I agree with flexibility on these builds - its really interesting to see how interior space has to be further modified for individual travel/living needs. I hope a few 🍺🍺🍺 have been sacrificed during these dogs days of summer!

Working on cabinets today - lots of tough cuts. The a/c unit takes up a lot of space. I have had the MAV 5 weeks now. I am using off the shelf Lowes cabinets and will be painting them - savedlots of money. Have installed a 5,000 BTU a/c unit in the floor/bin which is making everything inside wonderful! It takes up little space and has a cover to completely hide when not in use (video to come). Flooring is complete so spent the last 2 nights on the floor. Love all the room!

So far everything is good - even sunny today. Even though I am in the mountains we can get some bad flooding of roads, Thanks for checking!

heheh! I have finished the flooring so I spent the last 2 nights on the floor. BIG sofa coming in 2 weeks - will be oh so comfy then! Installed embeded 5000 BTU unit in floor bin so temperature is now perfect as well. Plenty of room for a dog too.
