Don't know why, but watching this performance always brings tears to my eyes. Only discovered this amazingly talented singer yesterday and cannot get enough of her voice. From what I've found out she is a natural contralto, and also a polyphonic, meaning she can produce two notes at the same time. Truly breath-taking.
Enjoyed your comments on her....the background is as extraordinary as the performer. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment.
Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. By the age of 10 she was winning local competitions, singing on live TV shows, and her songs started showing up on CZcams. Two months ago, at the age of 18, her first performance during a new Russian television competition with several other renowned performers, has gone viral and has garnered hundreds of CZcams 'reaction' videos, and millions of viewers.
Her first song at the competition, an entirely new take on Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love with You' has been called mesmerizing, transcendental and other-worldly...it highlights her uniquely deep voice, and effortless range from low to high, along with her trademark dramatic and passionate interpretation. Diana Ankudinova sings mostly in Russian, English and French. She has also sung in other languages including Spanish, German and Arabic. Singing in French, at the age of 10, on a Russian TV show... a viewer: 'at the age of 5 she couldn't speak her own language, how can one see this and still doubt past lives?'

@Шура Балаганов не ко мне претензии! не я решаю вопросы с передвижением по уровням-я лишь озвучиватель! приведу пример,который,может быть,будет доступен твоему пониманию. есть автобус,который может доставить в лучшее место. и варианты. есть экземпляры не знающие о существовании Дианы Дмитриевны Анкудиновой( и таких подавляющее большинство-враги прикладывают неимоверные усилия для ее изоляции.я больше двух лет каждый день в городе 50 тыс.населения подписываю на Диану Анкудинову не менее 5 человек и прекрасно вижу,что ее не знают) и эти экземпляры естественно не могут знать о существовании автобуса. те кто знаком с творчеством Дианы,слушает и подписан, но не испытывает эмоций на физическом уровне-мурашки,слезы-не могут войти в автобус по причине излишнего веса-просто не могут пролезть в дверь. пожелание им худеть,то есть возрастать ментально и духовно. есть и такие, которым не нравится,как ты заявил, творчество Дианы Анкудиновой и они хотят помешать движению автобуса,пытаясь лечь на дорогу перед ним! это явно больные или служащие врагам. кстати их мизер! как может нормальный человек напившись родниковой кристально чистой воды творчества Дианы Анкудиновой вдруг объявить-она мне не нравится и я лучше пойду пить ослиную мочу из болота Дронова?! я не владелец этого автобуса! и не склонен насильно тащить в лучшую жизнь, но указать на такую возможность моя обязанность как человека! и о терминах. Greetings from Scotland! Diana was 18yo in "Can't help falling in love" but just 15yo in "Wicked Games" If these songs interested you, can I please suggest listening to a few others? Both of these were in contests (yes, she won!) like the many many others she has won! So at 18yo she entered a contest/show called "ShowMASKGoOn" (ШоуМАСКгоон) back in late 2021. Imagine being one of the other contestants (who were also judges) when an 18yo girl came out last to perform in the first round of 9, and did THIS! I think it would make you re-evaluate your abilities perhaps? All the other well known and seasoned contestants were at least twice Diana's age!

Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion.

It's an old Russian folk song about an orphan bride who has no parents to bless her on her wedding day. In ancient times a river was considered a border between the living and the dead, so she comes to the river asking her deceased mother to bless her. It's a must watch performance and her voice here is magical.
