Dragon Dances: Every Dragon Fight from Fire and Blood
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 7. 09. 2021
- The Dance of the Dragons - catalogued in Fire and Blood - is full of, well, dragon dances, meaning bloody, tooth-and-claw, battles-to-the-death, 2,000 ft above the ground. I will read each and every dragon battle and break down the mythical astronomy symbolism therein in this very special dragon dance livestream!

Comment of the day
Sorry Dave but in terms of my favorite dragon, got to go with Sunfire. The fact that he goes totally feral and gets maimed, and becomes even more dangerous is so badass. The fact that he become so feral that my dude breathed dragon fire right onto moondancers face and permanently blinded her like a Savage. And the fact that he must have learned how to swim to get to Dragonstone. Sunfire
"Yes, everyone dies, it's very sad... I'll try to be more uplifting with the symbolism " đ that made my morning lol. Only halfway through but thanks for always posting these for people like me who usually can't make it when you go live.
âYes as I said in my very dramatic entrance, which was very silentâ đ that cracked me up, nice save đ
When Vhagar died it was said water boiled and steamed around her wounds. But it's also similar to white walkers melting and vaporizing when they are stabbed.
I love the commitment to analyzing one work more thoroughly than anyone else online, and I would love to see you apply it to other works someday as well :)
Man, Vaghar sure took out a lot of people and dragons in this war.
Thatâs why I had to make an entire video about Vhagar, which I called Queen of Destruction (maybe you saw it). When you add it all up itâs unreal
I hate when the dragons fight, but I kind of love it. Grrm always delivers crazy symbolism and pretty prose
Very unusual but interesting topic! I canât help but mourn all those dragons who were used so cruelly by their Targaryen masters.
I was laughing so hard watching the start, the whole dramatic pop up and costume and then seeing you talking but no sound. Much love David!
ah the good old days
Yeah I thought I watched all of your stuff and got sucked into Quinn's videos and then CZcams started suggesting a ton of new videos of yours for me so now I got another deep dive to accomplish
LML, best cold opening on one of your videos!
starting w a mute, signifying a classic
LML stream to ensueâŠâŠâŠ.
Fire & Blood is so cool, I've been waiting for you to do a stream about dragon symbolism and here it is! Thank you so much, this is gonna be one of those legendary 3 hour streams on your channel đ
This is an awesome idea for a stream. Loved listening to you dive into the dragon fights David. Thank you!
What an opening! My favorite battle in The Dance, aside from Daemon & Aemond Ă t Harrenhal
Wow what a stream. Canât wait to enjoy my day while listening to your analysis. As always, thanks for the content and insight!
The Shepherd reminds me of the guy who preaches in Flea Bottom against Cersei, Robert against the backdrop of the red comet.
100%. Same message, more or less.
As always, thank you very much for your effort and hard work man, we appreciate it!!
Awesome stream. Thanks for showing the fantastic artwork too! Loved it
I appreciate all the streams lately, and especially this one! Love a crazy long dragon filled stream.
David's performances have really developed well. mostly because he's gotten so comfortable being himself in his videos but also his off the cuff mythical astronomy breakdowns. its hard to make hours long live streams of just yourself talking interesting and David has been not just that but making his streams come off with a real polish to them.
Man, I mustâve missed it live! You did the Ancient Alien voice! Truly epic stream, very very dense with symbolism. My head-garth can only catch so many of your idea-fish, man.
Looking good Cleo! So much lore in this one. Love it!
Listening to you read the chapter where moon dancer died made me cry, it affected me much more hearing it vs the times Iâve read it.
Itâs very sad, right up there Silverwing trying to revive Vermithor after Tumbleton
Agreedđ„ș
Hi LML! Another Magnificent Stream of Yours!đ€đŒđ€đŒđȘđŒđđ»đđ»đđ»I really appreciated watching it, thank you đđ» đđđđđŒââïžđšđŠ
Great vid. Never crossed my mind about all the connections in F&B
you prestige'd me ! lol Great stream Love dragons and all the symbolism representing them woven together
1:47:10 - woah, the preaching has so many Dany references!
First I'm getting Dosh Khaleen vibes, it sounds like the prophecy of the Stallion Who Mounts the World.
Then, tent of dancing shadows + the alchemical wedding, where shrieking mingles with dancing flame women.
Then we're reminded of the burning of the Yunkaii slavers (eyes popping and melting, grrm sure loves this gooey gore).
The Stranger, he comes! ~ The Stallion, he rides! đđŽ
Good call, I see that :)
THREE AND A HALF HOURS?!?!?!! my day is made. Work will be tolerable. Thank you for amazing content!!
Wicked cast. Thanks lml đ
Great stream!
An extra long stream about dragons, perfect for my weekend đ
A little off topic, but I always felt that the reign of maegor the cruel is the closest thing to how valyrian politics would have worked
Good breakdown and take care!
Thank you again for an epic stream LML i will just leave this one here since it went unanswered (3 hours and a half stream cant blame), I have thie theory The Shepherd is an agent of the Citadel. It leads directly to the burn of dragonspit and the death of many dragons, also the archmaesters are called "The Grey Sheep". what do you think?. see ya on the next streams \m/
oh okay, i follow you... pretty sneaky / clever for the very bougie & upper class Citadel to use a guy like the Shepherd, but perhaps.
Sounds very possible.
Thanks dude đ€
Do you think the similarities between Aegon the Conqueror's dragons (Balerion, Vhagar, Meraxes) and Daenerys' dragons (Drogon, Rhaegal, Viserion) have any foreshadowing for their fates in the books? Drogon is said to be Balerion reborn. Could Aemond One-Eye and Vhagar foreshadow Euron's Crow-Eye and Rhaegal becoming the next terror of the trident, leading to another battle above the gods eye with Daenerys and Drogon? I know Rhaegal is ridden by Jon in the show, but Viserion's colouring compliments Ghost's a lot.
LML, you bring entertainment to my days, you're truly a master of symbolism. Greetings from Brazil.
I heard that things in Brazil are pretty tense politicaly speaking. Is it just the media hyping things up or are things legitimately changing? Wishing you the best of luck in navigating any chaos.
@@JonathansProductions we live in a country where the president likes to create institutional crisis, it's like groundhog day since the beginning of the term: the sun rises along with a new crisis. It's like Littlefinger's "caos is a ladder" speech, but super dumb Littlefinger...the dumbest you can think of. But he is bluffing, he is afraid his son goes to jail for his involvement with fake news and use of public money to do so.
Moondancer was the size of a horse. Like Meeri Mas Dur is a moondancer dancing with a horse
That was indeed a great Weirwood impression at the beginning đđ
Thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable stream. Love the dragons. Your reading of the slaughter of the dragons in the dragon pit was quite sad đą. I know they are fictional animals, but still.
Sad I missed this one đ but catching up now đ€đ€đ€
Good job on a 3 hour stream đ
Thereâs not often Iâll watch a 3hr video thatâs not about history or science but Davidâs videos on the GRRM books is an exception to the rule. David had obviously done his homework on the subject and his videos captivate me. And dragons (European dragons not Asian dragons. Itâs European dragons that we see in GOT not Asian dragons) are my favourite mythological creatures.
Thanks very much, but how in God's name would you come to the conclusion that the dragons are European dragons? That's bizarre, and wrong. George specifically drew from Zoroastrian and Vedic Indian myth when creating the Targaryens, so if anything, they're eastern dragons. Plus, George has the dragons originating in the far east, in lands that mimic Asia. So thanks for the compliments, but I have no clue what you're talking about here with "European dragons"
Loving the new found love of tea, LmL!
Hope you are generous with the honey and ginger , but not too much citrus, because that actually isn't good for a scratchy throat. Cheers!
Vhagar is going to have an awe-inspiring intro when she appears in season 1 I imagine a suprise swooping landing, which just scares everyone into silence, she has to be depicted as a flying castle unto herself in other words she is godly, in westoros.
Just have to say I love how you say VuhGar, it matches your politics, lightens the mood. I can imagine how these dragon battles in cgi/set can be put that Long night work to somethingđ„. super excited.
So sad but you read it so beautifully â€ïž
About Dany's similarities with Rhaenys: Rhaenys' dragon, Meleys, is called the Red Queen. Alchemical analysis of Jon and Dany (there's a great blog on Tumblr that delves into it) positions Jon as a White King and Dany as a Red Queen. Could this be another parallel and more foreshadowing for Dany's endgame?
can you drop the link to that?
Yes please, link! đ
Link? Link? Link? Link? Link? Link? Link? Link? Link? Link? Link? Link? Link?
A red queen in the future? Hear wearing mostly Red I suppose, not as much black perhaps
I hate the storming of the dragon pit. It's heartbreaking đ
i know it really is đ
@@DavidLightbringer I usually skip that part. And the dragon fights lol. I've read them and listened to them hundreds of times. I skip em anymore. Except when you are talking symbolysm
Epic entrance, bro xD
44:35 Luke was like a Westeros Jason Bourne
Exemplaryđ đ„đ„đ„
Had a random thought while you were reading about the Sheppard being a corpse like figure. No idea if anyone thought of this & posted it anywhere, just suddenly thought of the Others going down south with their army of the dead to "fix" the Arm of Dorne by making a corpse bridge or something & I think you mentioned something about the Arm breaking being the reason seasons got messed up, earlier in the video. Studying & lightly listening at the same time, you might've said something about that & I just missed it. Doesn't make much sense in this context, considering here he can be seen as an Other forming an army to kill "the fire", but thought of a scenario where the Others aren't just pure evil to defeat, but beings that have their own purpose other than conquering just for the sake of conquering. Just a random thought lol
3 and a hour hours?! This better be good.
...you got lucky đ€Ł
i think there is purpose to the sparse lore & accounts of the Cannibal . . . good stream âïž good soup đđđđđ
well all the black dragons have the best Long Night symbolism, but I'd have to read his scenes again to say for sure. The idea of a dragon who eats other dragons probably refers to the bleeding star which blotted out all the other stars. A comet that eats the moon-dragon-mother
It is pretty funny how much GRRM does so many bad luck rolls in dance
What do you mean?
@@DavidLightbringer just characters having the worst luck and dying horribly/dying đ Itâs a term from D and D RPG (not the two plonkers) and other RPGs. You basically get rolls on luck and bad luck rolls are usually disastrous. I know GRRM likely familiar with this (Joffrey death in dance prime example )
Just came to me but that entire scene of Prince Joffery being stripped after his fall by the rioters that description sounds a lot like what happened to Rhaegar after he fell at the trident
"BDG" (Big Dragon Energy)
If you make that into a T-shirt or a Hoodie I will buy it!
I don't know if there's any particular symbolism here, but do you think there is magic involved in the attack on the dragonpit? Maybe it's just meant to show mindless mob mentality but it seems rather improbable that the attackers wouldn't rout when the dragons start roasting them, maybe the Shepherd is using magic to whip them on.
It's also pointed out that Syraxes could have just stayed at distance and flamed them but died because she went in close to attack, again makes me wonder if there was something compelling her.
2:38:30 the reason Iâm here
aprreciate that
@@DavidLightbringer this is my favorite Dragon Dance
It be kinda cool if Silverwing still alive and freaking big now and someone like Jon or Dany or another character gets to ride her
Absolutely
Lucerys had no chance and honestly I liked him the most out of the three oldest of Rhsnys son's
I saw the bird poop incident happen and didn't say anything...Muhahahaha. I guess it did happen like 16 hours ago, but I totally saw it in a green dream.
Has anyone seen a huge moose in person? Imagine a animal that big. No wonder they warship them. Talk about a ball dropper. Dragons should not fight dragons đ
Just curious if you're from Virginia. I see the VA plates there
Yes sir. Moved out to Cali at 23 and it was all
VA before that. Fairfax/ Manassas
First...
Vintage form tonight, brother!
CZcams tried telling me I already watched this....?
The Red Queen is my favorite dragon. Meleys
I love symbolic gibber gabber
58:27 I just realized she must have⊠survived? They said that she was wearing copper and steel armored that was reflecting the sun? And they couldnât find her body? Not buying that.
she's definitely dead. 100%. there's no reason for her to be alive, story wise. She's done.
Wonder how they will do the death of dragons in HoTD when it comes to Dragonpit because GoT show made it clear they are of such high difficulty to kill that people didnât buy them dying or getting injured. I can see loads of people finding it had to grasp how some dudes with basic axes and swords can totally kill dragons
Has something to do with their size and three of them being chained up I think. And still, HUNDREDS died.
@@DavidLightbringer yeah, they could really show that. I just remembered conversations with friends etc that the show made the dragons so unstoppable in GoT people didnât buy them dying or getting injuries, I had one convo with person who thought if they kept more magical element to how they killed dragons they would have bought it more.
@@Henbot I feel like it comes down to the size of the dragons in the show. In the books they will be much smaller when theyâll be killed. They were like 5 years old in the show, they will be the size of Drogon in the fighting pits (maybe a little bigger). Which will make it more believable if they do end up being killed.
LMFGAO đđđđ€Łđ best entrance ever.
52:12 Targaryens gonna Targaryen.
Praise Garth!
I was named Hoary Old Bitch after Vhagar!
Thatâs a good title!
The sun is bruised and spongy 7:27
everybody is excited about Daemon vs Aemond one eye but I want to See Adam Hull
Draconian moon people...yes ofcourse..quite a common ancient alien theory...or Draccs from that old movie...theory is the key word...or justbatshitecrazy
Did CZcams make you change your name?
oh no, def not.
Beloved of God and Venus and Lucifer was also Gods favorite Angel... covered in jewels and gemstones....dragony?
I wanna watch this sooo bad, but looks like I got to split it into 5 parts đđ
yeah there were more dragons fights than I realized lol
Turn up the music a touch please. I can barely hear it
2:49:55
So did baela marry her uncle then? Bc wasnât he technically her grandfatherâs son ???
Fire in the sky
The dead shepherd could be a parallel to the high sparrow
100% - perhaps the High Sparrow will have a hand in some sort of cersei wildfire event? That's the only thing that could parallel the dragonpit storming
Thatâs my assumption. Both characters are trying to bring down the current order on behalf of the smallfolk & things donât go exactly to plan.
2:59
I never understood how Sunfyre, one of the younger dragons, managed to survive THREE dragon fights! The way he is described after his fight with Meleys suggests he could kick the bucket anytime. But manages to kill Greyghost AND Moondancer in that state... Kinda of surprising and hard to believe, given all the other green dragons like Vermax, Tessarion etc are kind of meh.
Honestly the whole dance seems kind of scripted perfectly for the greens. Sunfyre should not have been able to win those battles.
Plot armour hard.
LML forever bro
Yea I really dis-like Amon one eye it reminds me of during G.oT. I was wondering why everyone loved danni aside from emila Clark's brilliant performance as her
Probably because she risked her life to save other people over and over and over

Ooooou the gods eye island is the moon and the lake itself is the sun. Its an eclipse
other way round actually - the sun is bogger of course, like the lake, and George gives us several sun-like lake descriptions - the Gods Eye is aflame, the lake looked like a sheet of sun-hammered bronze, etc. The Isle of Faces is the moon because it has the white trees with the faces, and those trees are compared to the moon many times. Plus, man-in-the-moon face, Isle of Faces. But yes it's the eclipse alignment, struck by the dragons. Also note the water splashing as high as Kingspyre tower - that works to imply the crash as a meteor landing with a rising smoke pillar like a pyre
Red rivht Hand/s on coats of arms over 150 years old refer to the difflerent lost tribes of Israel amongst the Lion. The Lion representative of the House of Judah, which is the House of David...dichotomy and dualism and the heart in conflict.. so.e of the ancient prophets lived in the wild and called down a she bear who mauled a bunch of young Hebrews who were mocking him. Not sure if he stunk but you would guess living in the wild in animal skins I believe.?.anyhu
Often a red right hand is one of the other houses of Israel Israel like you find in Ireland....just some Hebrew tribes who went into bondage and up North and West into Europe. Even the Druids and the pike's of Ireland....Roma
Like the tribe of Dan..Danish
