It's kinda funny, that you take old, beaten up cars and restore them to new look, and then take new cars and beat them up, to look post-apocalyptic :D Don't misunderstand it, I really love the look of these used, aged things, i'm in love with them, it's just the irony that i feel in this. Love your vids, i only found you, but i feel like you're my kind of youtuber
Dude, I was watching tool restoration then came across your channel...I am freaking enjoying this its so interesting. It reminds me of another channel I'm subcribed too called mini cooking. Where the Creator cooks real food with miniature cooking wares. CZcams never ceases to amaze me. You got me as a new subscriber.
You have officially inspired me to make my own custom hot wheels cars! I'm used to a lot of the tools & methods you use for building Warhammer 40k game pieces so I hope it won't be to hard for me. Your work is amazing & ty for a great video & for inspiring me & others :D
I have no idea why this was in my recommended videos but after watching one video I can't stop watching. Excellent and INTERESTING work done to cars on a micro scale. Subbed.
I love this so much. I used to have an airbrush and workshop in 70s when i was a kid. I would make WW2 armor and airplanes from photos. With painting, weathering, damage and details. I painted miniatures as well. I love creating the appearance and imagery. I loved Ray Harryhausen as well.
"Shoe box" is a 1949 Ford. The 1948,1949,and 1950 Fords like these were called "shoe box Fords" because of the way they look.My neighbor owns a 1950 "shoe box" Ford.

I feel like the dent effect might be better achieved with some more primitive methods. I found that putting the body in a container with small rocks and shaking it can have a nice natural dent look, and gently bending the roof can make it look like it's been damaged without destroying the fit
once you hit 100K you should really reach for sponsorships with the paints you use. your such a fantastic and unique channel I know you can work out some sponsorships.
I'm 63 now....my interests lay more towards outdoor pursuits and when indoors, decoys and general woodworking. But there was a time decades ago, my brothers and I would work model kits....in between playing with Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars. In fact, I still have mine and all of theirs---close to 200 cars including original 1968 Redlines...I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching and listening to your videos....so calming and Zen like. Hmmmm....wonder if the wife would support me tackling this hobby? (I don't think I'll ask) Keep it up, amigo!

WOW MAN! You are literally the master of customizing! You and Scott Dunlap are really good! I love your custom videos and I feel like I've just been inspired! :)
The driver of that car won't survive a day in the mad max world without those doors
Dudes drive around there holding on top of cars, I think he will be more than fine.
Douglas Rampazo Actually you're right lel XD
Crianças...
Jirapat Thaenphromrat so true
Yeah, I agree. A bandit could easily jump in there and kill the driver, but the car itself looks better without the doors anyway.
Man, the mesh windows really are an inspired choice, nice little detail.
When I saw you use he dremel on the car all I could here in my head was Homer telling Flanders "I'm putting speed holes in my car!"
why is this so satisfying?!
Best.Custom.Ever.
Wow thanks!

Blake griffin Agreed this one is my favorite !!
baremetalHW how much for one of these, they look great.
Blake griffin yeah it's like a zombie fighter car

@@thestrayamemeslord9638 whats wrong with you?!
*Minituare Space*
The reason it's called shoebox is because this casting is based off a 1949-51 Ford which were nicknamed shoebox Fords after their design.
You have officially inspired me to make my own custom hot wheels cars! I'm used to a lot of the tools & methods you use for building Warhammer 40k game pieces so I hope it won't be to hard for me. Your work is amazing & ty for a great video & for inspiring me & others :D
I watch tons of Warhammer tutorials to get ideas on how to improve my weathering technique... You will do just fine!
baremetalHW hey I saw this comment on a video but you should do the pizza planet truck Dakota butler is the person who came up with the idea
totally the best one yet
+iamelvisman68 Thanks!!
baremetalHW
agreed!
I really like the character that you created for this car! A post-apocalyptic artist, and a really neat car.
1949~1951 Ford cars are referred to as shoebox's.
I have no idea why this was in my recommended videos but after watching one video I can't stop watching. Excellent and INTERESTING work done to cars on a micro scale. Subbed.
Same story here dude
well i found a new channel to binge watch. subbed. :)

Same for me I start my journey now lol hope you enjoyed
Pull the jewelers saw blades through beeswax a couple of times, it helps keep them from binding.
Brilliant idea thank you!

"Shoe Box" is the nick name for a '49-'51 Ford.
So glad somebody knew this !
Yeah, I was going to comment that he should Google Shoebox Ford. Looks just the same.
Also 55 and 56 Chevys, that is a Studebaker
Yeah I know and I can see why
that was awesome, the detailing and ideas used are genius, I think. the end result is amazing. 😀 👍 👍

Did he made one yet?
Its called a "Shoebox" because it is a model of a late 40's early 50's Ford sedan that was nicknamed "shoebox".
"Shoe box" is a 1949 Ford. The 1948,1949,and 1950 Fords like these were called "shoe box Fords" because of the way they look.My neighbor owns a 1950 "shoe box" Ford.
Previous to the 49 Fords, vehicles had fender bulges over the wheels. The 49 Fords lead the styling of flat sides and looked like a shoebox.
49-51 Ford cars, not 48...42-48 were known as fat fendered
you are a great artist! I have a suggestion for another car, the pizza planet truck?
Is that from toy story?
4:04 "I am pleased with my dents" lmao
Very clever using the tattoos I never thought of that
idk how i got to ur channel, but im glad i did!

Have you ever seen the game called Gaslands? This is perfect for that.
You’re not kidding, TabooZombie!
Found these getting into the Gaslands game; great stuff, very inspirational!
Love your series of resto-customization videos. I plan on using a lot of your techniques for the tabletop game Gaslands. Thanks.

These mad max cars are very cool please keep doing them
I feel like the dent effect might be better achieved with some more primitive methods. I found that putting the body in a container with small rocks and shaking it can have a nice natural dent look, and gently bending the roof can make it look like it's been damaged without destroying the fit
That looks awesome! Maybe add a few bullet holes on one side to give it some battle credibility
sharkinfested Yeah true and drill out headlight and taillight too.
Ball cutter LOL!
It was called the shoebox because the 1950 ford was nicknamed the shoebox ford due to its boxy look
The way the left headlight was sanded down made it look like “angry eyes”. Looks bad ass
Thats awesome mate!
I think the front has the sides for the wheels , covering the motor is cuted off , but it still looks nice
What about lifting the car off the wheels for a more off road look
I love the rust and the dented texture! Very impressive
This is so cool. Thank you for sharing. This mad max shoe box is something else.
Parabéns pela customização!

This inspired me to write a ruleset to play wasteland car combat on the top of a kitchen table :), thank you very much!
This was a good one. way better than the first two. a lot of improvement. One of my favorites from the theme
Dear friend!
Why there is no video for tuning models?
I also like making cars in this style.
Absolutely stupendous work, I love this design!
Of the Mad Max customs you've done, I think this one best captures the aesthetic. Nice work!
