I lost my son suddenly in 2010. For awhile, it felt like I couldn't breathe. To honor him, I set a goal of making one baby quilt a month for our local hospital. It slowly helped me recover. You will too. You will always have three children. One is now your guardian angel watching over you. God bless you on your recovery journey. It will get easier.

In my mind I saw the picture you posted of him cooking with his sister. I wanted you to know how you and your Journey have become a part of us. You are so loved by us your subscribers. There’s an old saying in recovery, “Things got better when I got busy.” You are doing the right thing by reaching out and proactively recover your life. ❤❤❤

When you said, "Grief is love with nowhere to put it.", I just cried. Thinking of the dynamics of that statement, it is so true! I have so much love for my lost son but can no longer express it because he is no longer here to receive it. Such a powerful way to say it! 💞
It's not easy losing a child. I lost my 3 yrs old 30 yrs ago. When someone asks me how many kids I have, I still say 3, but one is in heaven. God bless you Kelly.
It’s Ok to find a new normal and to laugh! Start with memories were you all were cracking up and imagine him being there laughing right along! The grieve will always be there, but the knowledge that he is there will grow and will make it better. More and more each day! He is just a thought away! Be good to yourself! The girl may worry more about you than you do about them .

After my son passed, I was confused also about how to respond to people. I finally settled on " I have 3 children but 1 has passed." I figured that covers it. It doesn't ignore my son since he is still here with me in my heart.❤

I lost my parents to COVID one month apart. I just couldn't remember them as part of my past. They are still a wonderful part of my life. I don't say "I loved them so much", "They were". No, they are. I still love them just as much. So, I don't consider them as "were". I consider them as "are" and can't consider them in past tense. No, they are still a big part of my life. They are just not physically here, but they are forever here in my mind. I love my parents, not I loved my parents.

Kelly, I am a 73 year old Grandmother. My youngest son passed away in 1978. My life changed forever. Parents that have lost children are now called Angel Moms and Angel Dads. I feel your heartbreak and devastating sadness. I found it helped me to talk to a friend who has also lost their child. They truly could understand every question I had. May our dear Lord hold you and your children in his arms. Give you strength courage and much love to walk with you during this difficult

I lost my husband of 31 years two years ago. Grief is a hard journey and it takes time. I don't know if you have heard of Griefshare but it helped me so much to understand this journey I'm on. I admire your determination and desire for you and your girls to start living again. I pray for God to give you all strength and peace.

Grief is so so hard. I find that at times I feel panicked because I can’t see or hold the person I’m missing. I have to hang on, grab onto some memories and breathe. Hugs ❤

It has been a little over a year since my mom passed and almost three since my Dad passed and I feel like there is a dark cloud hanging over me. I cannot get past anything. Some days I don’t even get out of bed. I cannot find joy in anything anymore. I see someone a psychiatrist and a counselor. I know my parents would want me to go on but something inside me is so damaged and I feel so broken. When I watch how strong you are it gives me hope. I still think about Ray and I cried from Missouri watching his funeral on my tv. I want to be more like you. I love you for sharing everything you did because it has helped me some. Thanks Kelly.

When I lost my son to cancer, I couldn't imaging "normal " life. Like you, I had to become used to a new normal. It took a long while to get to the point where I could think of him or see a photo & not cry or feel sad. But slowly, it came around. We don't get over our loss, but we can get through it. And Darlin', you will always have three children ❤

My neighbor lost her only child, a son. She is a strong woman. She is in her 70s. She found a way to go on. She became a school teacher. She helped raise everyone’s kids. I really don’t know how she has done it. Her son died in a wreck at 19. He would have been 50 this year.

A very special mom I knew was a mom of 6. (She passed last year after a long life) 2 of her sons passed away as teenagers . She always said i am a mom of 6. 2 are in heaven. You are always a mom of 3. She was a wonderful Godly graceful woman.

Your comment made me think of a friend of mine who is 74; he is the youngest of 5. His mother is now 102 years old. She still lives in her own home with the recently widowed wife of another of her sons that passed away about a year ago. She has outlived all of her children except her youngest, my friend. How painful that must have been for her!
If it were me, I would say I HAVE three children because Ray will always be with you. But you say it anyway you feel. Say whichever way makes you happy. It is so good to have you back!
