Turning a Unique Display

In this video I am turning a wood and resin display on the lathe for my daughter. This two tone red malle burl looks so cool with the colorshift along with the other add ons. I'm really proud of this piece and had a good time making it.
The year 2024 will be a year of the 13 year and 17 year cicada broods emerging from underground at the same time. This event happens once every 221 years; not exactly something everyone would look forward to but an interesting event none the less.
