Recently found your channel and have been binging your videos since!! My art school just teaches us the basics; boolean, combine, etc etc and we never got to dive deep into Maya. As a 3d animation student, I really appreciate that you put up such useful content. Thank you!! I've been learning so much from you
Great tutorial! I also love using NURBS to get my model started like that, they are just so flexible. There's one other great advantage to working with NURBS in this way. When you convert NURBS into polygons like that, quite often you end up with UVs that are pretty much unwrapped all ready for you. In the case of a spiral like your example, you"ll end up with a nice big square unfolded UV shell. Which only needs to be scaled in one direction ( re-sized into a rectangular shell instead of a square shell ) to be perfectly unwrapped and laid out ready to be textured. Awesome job!
Sir, you saved my day! I like more Blender than Maya, it looks easier to me. However I need to learn this software for my 3D studies I'm starting, and this really helps a lot. Thank you, keep growing!!!
Hi, I just wanted to say that I think your tutorials are great. I got into a decent school for game development thanks in part to you! Watching this video I learned some tricks that will come in handy for sure. Keep it up!
Great tutorial ! I really need to learn how to use curves more.... I've always avoided them but I realise, now that my skills are intermediates, that was a mistake.
What should I do if my object isnt smooth like on your video, and ShrinkWrap works bad? After ShrinkWrap my curve on object has strange form and coils are not the same
Hi it's a little difficult to tell where it went wrong without knowing your steps. Usually when I debug an issue I'll see if I can reduce the steps. Maybe have less coils or try freezing the transform at certain points. For example I might start with a simple cylinder and draw a curve and see if I can wrap it and go from there.
You're a savior!
Helped me a lot for my Uni-Modul-Project. Thanks a lot. ❤

can you make a warp animation a tutorial?
This works without curves.

@@DigitalDreambox Ok, I will try, btw with simple cylinder it works well, but when I make it narrow in the middle, the problem appears
@@vitalyv8770 You can try freezing the transforms on the cylinder after you've changed it's proportions. That could be the issue.
yeah, that's my problem now, did you solve this promblem bro?
