- Longtime FOX Sports broadcaster Joe Buck received news that he will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Buck got word at halftime of the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals game on Thursday Night Football. Joe and Jack Buck become the first father and son to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The seven-time Emmy winner has been with FOX since 1994.

@@dutdut2.059 I can understand why you’d say that, I remember in 2002 when John Madden moved to ABC, and Pat Summerall only commentated local games, so Joe Buck became lead play-by-play for FOX and was HORRENDOUS. No enthusiasm and completely dull. He has gotten better in recent years, but not my favorite. I prefer Kevin Harlan or Gus Johnson

Joe may not be the most exciting commentator, but he's great at what he does. He's been the voice of the NFL on FOX for 18-19 years and deserves to go into Canton alongside his father, the late Jack Buck.

Verne lundquist should be inducted as one of the all time greats. Not much of a fan of Joe Buck but his dad was a true legend in commentating as listening to AFN radio in the UK was an absolute pleasure on sunday nights alongside the great Hank Stram who would always correctly predict the next play.

I might be looking too deep into but it sounded like he was very composed and had his emotions relatively in check until he got into the photo with his father Jack and I think he got emotional. When he said and I’m paraphrasing “great announcer. Better man. And I miss him” I think that’s when it hit him

Joe's voice is home, he is great at what he does, he speaks when he should and lets the crowd do its thing when it needs to as well. There is so much he does and I love hearing him.

He's far from my favorite, but I do like him as a baseball announcer. And to be honest, I'd rather hear a basic, deadpan announcer over the ones who get too annoyingly excited and over-the-top (looking at you, Gus Johnson and Joe Tessitore).

Nantz has been in since 2011 and Michaels has been in since 2013. I think Joe has his fair share of lowlights but he gets a bad wrap. He often gets compared to his father who was a wonderful announcer. And people just like bashing Joe Buck because he’s an easy person to go at. He might be the third best announcer between Michaels and Nantz but that’s a very legendary group to be up against in the first place

Dudes looked 43 for 25 years now. Anyway idk about hall of fame but joe has been iconic for the past couple of years now. And his voice defines sunday afternoon. Im not mad about it.
People for whatever reason, they dislike Joe Buck, they bash his announcing styles, look I know we're all entitled to our opinions, however with that said, in spite of his detractors, not only is Joe Buck the main announcer for the NFL on Fox, the man is also the main announcer for MLB on Fox as well, I don't think people realize how difficult that's gotta be, nor how much h pressure that's gotta be, MLB & the NFL, 2 of the biggest, sell known sports in all the 🌎 and Joe Buck is the voice for both of them, that's kinda crazy Nd surreal if you sit back and think about it
I mute the audio when he casts honestly but he has always come across as a stand up guy.
I have never gotten all the Joe Buck hate or people that think he's boring. He's way more animated that Pat Summerall ever was (seriously listen to his call of the ending of the Rams-Patriots 2001 Superbowl - you'd think it was a preseason game), but Pat is still universally respected as an announcer.
That being said, I do think he does his best work announcing baseball - not that he doesn't do a great job at football too; but he's excellent at baseball and should def. get into the baseball hall of fame as well.
It's not just about being boring. He simply doesn't demonstrate a deep understanding of the game, nor does he exude a desire to understand the game. That's simply not one of his goals, and that, in my opinion, is deeply problematic.

As a Steeler fan of over 40 years and DETESTING the Cowboys, I really enjoy BOTH Troy and Buck together. Unlike Collinsworth or Deion, Joe talks about the game and not about 'when I played......blah blah blah...'. Yes Joe didnt lace 'em up, but a true pro. Cant wait to hear Troy introduces you as Pro Football H.O.F. announcer Joe Buck. Both guys are class.
