@@Opedanderson Yup, The Rock just went to Miami when they were a NFL factory line. That D-Line had so many future superstars, he just couldn't displace them as a full-time starter. But he was still good, just not at THEIR level
The Rock was second string behind Warren Sapp… he could’ve made it too the NFL but he had back injury problems

Just shows how well respected Jimmy is in the beautiful history of the sport. It was not just the NFL, it was college too. He truly impacted his players on both levels.
It's great to see people getting their roses while still with us. Most times it's after the fact that people are told how much they were appreciated.

Absolutely! He's one of the most highly respected men in all of sports, not just football. From the University of Miami to the Dallas Cowboys he made football a more exciting sport to watch.

I loved the tough as nails Jimmy Johnson who as Coach of the Cowboys laid down the law and refused to tolerate or accept losing or anything less than excellence.
But I'm also touched to find out these last few years that that's only one side of Jimmy Johnson, and that beneath that hard as nails exterior was and is a caring, generous and very human human being.
He said in one of those shows, A Football LIfe, or 30 for 30, I don't remember, that he actually didn't like being that guy. He did it to win, but that's not his true nature.

Well said Giants man. As a lifetime cowboy fan. The year he started w cowboys they were winners in preseason and the I saw every play of every game in 89. So bad they were. To go from there to after super bowls was amazing. I think that team was maybe greatest team ever except maybe those 85 Bears. They were bigger stronger faster than anyone. Wouldn’t that be something to see. The Dallas online vs bears defensive line. Wow.

I went to Miami v SD St. I think it was 91 or 92. Marshall Faulk was hurt and Michael Burrow, Jesse Armstead and Darrin Smith surrounded him and were talking mad trash to him right in front of us in the end zone. The game ended in a big brawl! THE DAYS!

As Jerry is getting older, I think he knew the right thing to do was let bygones be bygones. Jimmy deserve to be in that ring of honor decades ago. Everyone knew it, but Jerry’s ego wouldn’t allow it to happen.

Been a Cowboys fan since I was kid. I remember Aikman's rough first year with them, and the years after that. JJ cultivated greatness. He coached one of the best teams in NFL history. He was a great coach, and even father figure. That is why he still so loved to this day.
He has more than earned that spot in the ring of honor. Jerry Jones did him dirty for so long. My ultimate wish would be to see JJ as the new GM of the Dallas Cowboys.
