We went to Ireland, pre-covid. We flew into Dublin and took the train to Cork where we went to see The Furey's perform at the Cork Opera House. While on the train, we had a nice chat with a elderly local man who told us to take the train to Cobh while we were there. We only had 2 nights in Cork and opted to go to Blarney Castle instead. My husband's descendants are from Wicklow, which we found out on our last full day in Dublin. So much to see and do.
It really does look like Newfoundland, especially downtown St. John's with its colourful row houses. Thanks for sharing :)

Yes, we felt like we were in Newfoundland the whole day. Especially when Mrs.Canuck was able to snack on some delicious smoked salmon!

We’re there, too, on a port stop in 2019. A very nice place. We decided to take a taxi up, and then to walk down. At the church, there was a wedding Mass just getting underway, so we didn’t see much of the interior. And, I, too, had relatives who emigrated from Ireland, perhaps via Cobh???, in the mid 1900s, to Montreal. Thanks for posting your adventures.

Ireland is beautiful and what a wonderful last port! It also reminds me a lot of eastern Canada, little towns like that are sprinkled all over the coast. I could really hear the whistling at the end of your vlog! That would drive me crazy, lol! Thanks once again for sharing your European adventure with us!

It really was the perfect last port for that part of the vacation. Next up - Italy!
The whistling was really pronounced - glad it came through in the audio.

Thanks for showing us Cobh. We were there on a cruise about 7 years ago and ended up taking the shuttle into Cork, so missed Cobh entirely. Now I'm sorry we missed it. I was interested in hearing the Carillon of St. Colmans, so I found this on CZcams czcams.com/video/cf3XWl-pcNU/video.html Amazing how it's played. Loved your video and the music, too.
