    Thank you. This video was very informative and helpful. I have a 23 Premium MT, the last of the Gen2's. I found a good deal on Voxx Monte's so I ordered them, along with rings. I looked into the tires and can see why you prefer the Toyo OC. I'm leaning that way too. I'm still on the fence RE: size. I like the look, lift and perf of the 225 over the 215. But, I'm not ready to lift or upgrade the shocks/struts (while in warranty). When fully loaded with gear, bikes, wife and husky, it can ride pretty low in back. So, I fear the 'scrubbing' could digress into hard rubbing when traversing terrain. Any follow-up advice or observations based on a year of experience with this set up by you or others, would be most helpful. In retrospect, would you have gone with the 215's? Did you experience rubbing or damage loaded over terrain? Thank you again and I'll appreciate any follow-up.

    Thanks for the good review. I'm planning on going the same route, only with RR5-V wheels. I drive on the beach quite a bit and did not want to go to a narrower wheel than stock like most Crosstrek owners seem to do. It makes no sense to me.

    • @WEEKENDWNDR3RS

    • @WEEKENDWNDR3RS
      @WEEKENDWNDR3RS  Před 2 lety +1

      Granted, no one actually WANTS to go narrower. But generally what happens is they want a 15 inch wheel but want to keep the stock diameter (27.7) inches o avoid rubbing and the only tire available in that diameter is the 215/75/15. So I think that’s why they’re popular

    Do you have a full size spare? I don't think the donut spare will work when moving up in size with the all wheel drive or it won't be good for it. If you do keep a full size where do you store it, and do you use a 5 tire rotation? Nice! I looked at the dx4’s before finding these. But I wanted something different and they resembled the motegi/method/ wheels too much for my taste. Still a sick set of wheels though.
      I actually don’t carry a spare. At least not right now. I have a heavy duty air compressor and tire repair kit for any punctures I may encounter.

      The hubcentric rings basically fill the gap between the aftermarket wheel bore size and your hub size. Some after market wheels have the same bore size as the hub so these rings aren’t needed.
