Because its hard to be good enough to play professional sports when you play another sport for most of your life. Multi sport athletes are rare. I will believe it isn't for publicity when he hits .250 in AA. Teams want him to sell jerseys and make the news and draw viewership. Thats why the mets signed him no matter what they say

It not that Tim Tebow cannot play. It that NFL coaches cannot/do not want to tailor the way they coach to support TT skill set. That's cool. It is what it is. And yeah Julian Edleman luvs playing football enough to switch positions. But he was never a Heisman Winner like TT. I think TT ego was saying "I'm a winner. And a winner at the QB position, so why do I or would I want to change positions?" So now it's on to baseball! And while baseball is a bore to watch it is far more difficult to master than football. IMHO. It's the only sport where you can be successful 30% of the time and be considered elite. A .300 batting average is a star in baseball. Complete 30% of anything in Football and you are not even on the practice squad.
Can we all, for one second, digest the fact that *Colin Kaepernick* was actually drafted to the MLB in high school, and never went for that publicity once it became apparent he was being blackballed in the NFL? I absolutely liked him in college, Tim Tebow's skill-set as college player is another reason why I sometimes prefer college to the pro game where in college you can run unconventional systems and do unconventional things, but with pro football you can't get away with the stuff Tebow was doing, Vince Young had the same issues their games just didn't translate to the pros. What Tebow did at Florida was amazing stuff and I had some great times watching him play. But I know Tebow wasn''t cut out for the NFL, a franchise isn't going to cater their entire offense to Tebow. I've always said he'd be best at TV or as a mentor, or play in the CFL or the Arena Football League, if he ever proved himself there, maybe he would get a decent shot or maybe even at fullback.
That’s exactly why I don’t care to watch college and most don’t either since it’s not as popular as the NFL. Some of the stuff you see QBs doing will never fly in the league. Great examples are Johnny Manziel, Jamarcus Russel, etc..

I gotta admit I've never seen a qb go 9-7 in his first 16 games, win a playoff game, and not get another shot somewhere else. He didn't get another shot. He at least deserved that. Nobody can use the consistency rule with him. He didn't start another game. But. Tebow was such a square peg in the NFL because teams would've had to rewrite their offense to accommodate his unique skill set. All I'm saying is it would've been interesting if he got another shot.
