274A Not a Vlog - realtime narrowboat cruise from Gayton Junction to Weedom Bec (ASMR / Slow TV)

- This is an uninterrupted (almost, there are a couple of camcorder battery changes and a re-fuelling stop) video recording from the camera on the bow of a narrowboat as it travelled along the Grand Union Canal in Northamptonshire from Gayton Junction to Weedon Bec.
There is no music, just the natural sound captured by the camera. If you want music, I recommend playing your own choice as you watch, that way you can be 100% happy with your selection.

Slower is better. I tried 2X but felt a little uncomfortable albeit very smooth frames though.
The faster playback frames provide imminent sensation but truly the eminence is of the audio.

Its the wee hours of the morning and I cant sleep, log in and Cruising the Cut comes on. I may not be sleeping but it is very relaxing, sitting back as though I am on the forward deck. I can feel the gently breeze, smell the earthy scents, smile at the folk heading the other way with a nod of the head, hear the creeks the scuffs and the humming chug chug of the engine, then a train go's past. aaah an extended version of the potter's wheel interlude shown on early TV schedules when I was a kid. TV wasn't hundreds of 24hr channels then just the two without the material to fill a daily schedule 100%. This is as calming and facinating as that wheel Thank you.

Yes there's not really enough surface area for it to gather much momentum but you do feel the effect of the wind catching the sides of the boat.

From 1.20. To 1.38. I grew up around this part of the canal. Fantastic childhood memories of that amazing little village .

LOL - This is like a narrowboat live webcam. During the1st 50 seconds it was dark, ominous & there was a large crane I thought we were entering the narrowboat grave yard about to be lifted & dropped into the scrap pile.
We really loved the 'Not a Vlogs' and are really happy to see a new one. Do you know of any other CZcamsrs who also do these long narrowboat videos with just the natural sounds (no added music or editing)?

It's a bit of a sad video for us as this is always the last day cruising before returning the boat to Steve at Weedon Bec . Still, can not wait till July the 7th when our 3rd trip on the grand union begins again. Maybe we will get adventurous and go North 😮

As I live in Silverstone, your NotaVlog of three years ago, Blisworth to Weedon, caught my eye, being familiar with both ends of the route. I then went back to the start of your channel and watched every vlog and notavlog. It took most of a year to catch up, but I have watched all since and look forward to see how the new one compares.

Knowing that narrow boats turn from the center (pivot), it would seem the natural progression would be from narrow boats to super tankers. They both require finessing the turn. Thank you for the relaxing video.
