I’m impressed that Ryuga managed to do all of that and NOT become one of the good guys. Dude stayed a villain/anti-hero THE WHOLE TIME. The only person he was good to was Kenta, and that still didn’t make him a good guy in the shonen anime sense. That’s some crazy consistent and interesting writing, and I did not expect it to come from Beyblade of all series. I can see why so many people love this guy more than the actual main characters.

At least Ryuga went down in a blaze of glory. Not only he made the God of Destruction, Rago, stressed out over his ultimate move, but he made a promise to Kenta to take him seriously about the world ending, acknowledged him, gave him his Star Fragment, and turned Kenta (a literal ZERO before Metal Fury) into one of the strongest bladers in Beyblade.
Absolute GOAT and amazing character development too.
And before that, Kenta had grown so strong just from following this goat, that he could unironically solo every Blader in Metal Masters. He *chipped* L-Drago Destructor's core with his Special Move - tell me with a straight face that Galaxy Pegasus could do that. COSMIC PEGASUS COULDN'T.

He isn't a ransom kid. Ryuga was the king of the Dragon Clan in beyblade (Ryuto from Metal fury the one who possesses Dragonis is a part of the Dragon Clan as well) and Sakyo is also a part of the clan but he's not pure
To give Ryuga credit in season 3. The kid in the glasses that fought Ryuga, after defeating the protagonist, had a beyblade of Anubis the egyptian god. Then later on King, the "super saiyan" with white hair, had a beyblade of the Greek God of War Ares. So in short, Ryuga was fighting and defeating gods before tackling Nemesis.
To add on how strong King is, the guy was forbidden to bey battle cause he was too strong and kept destroying everyone's Beys and that was BEFORE he got his Variares.
Another thing is that his Bey Variares is what Julian's Gravity Destroyer was based off of like Galaxy Pegasus is what Storm Pegasus was based on. Meaning his Bey can rotate left like L-Drago. So he's stronger than Julian AND is unable to have his spin stolen. So Ryuga beating him is even more impressive.

What makes exhibit B even crazier is that Ryuga shows up and teaches the MC how to use his own bey. He told Gingka thet he had no idea what he was doing, and demonstrated by kicking him around like it was nothing for f minutes straight.
And destroying the city? He also destroyed Faust's special move, which had Gingka trapped in a black hole. The MC was trapped, and Ryuga accidentally saved him by no-diffing his opponent. And then while Gingka is struggling to shut down the reactor, Ryuga comes in and overpowers the reactor core in 5 seconds.
In exhibit C, people saw what happened to Hikaru and started running away the moment they saw him. Gingka and Kyoya never go after him (Because they learned their lesson) and the God of Destruction's team nopes out whenever he shows up.
Also, you forgot about the first time Ryuga pulled up on the God of Destruction and nuked his temple and everyone around it and laughed at their unconscious bodies.

He even proved to be alive in shugan steel, as he was the one who gave ronin dragoon to that edgy blader, which mean he went against god, all alone, gave a decent fight, helped to save the world and stayed alive to make sure there will be an heir to his legacy.

He was perfect: He was spiritually and mentally unbreakable, even a tiger would shiver out of fear. He was OP. none of the legendary bldrs even came close to him. He was honorable. Disciplined and kept his promise against Kenta after he finally got humbled by a litteral Entity who absorbed his powers. Crazy. Easily amongst top 3 best and most iconic anime characters.

Add Sung Jinwoo to the round table. He has so many badass moments, it is unreal. He is a manhwa character, but there is an anime adaption that has 1 season with more seasons in the making. His best moment is probably flipping off the strongest hunter in the world before beating him into submission with his bare hands.

I’m not gonna lie CJ, you didn’t have to tire yourself out for us. We could’ve waited another week for you to release part 2.
But in my opinion, Ryuga has to be one of the top 10 best anime villains out there. Throughout the whole series, the dude was on a quest to become the ultimate menace, and he achieved it.
He took out his opponents in one strike, gave them ptsd, destroyed a bunch of property, and ran the ones with a god! Plus, he didn’t let plot armor affect him, he came back and defeated the main character!

When I went to rewatch Beyblade in 2021, I've constantly been say that if Beyblade wasn't marketed towards kids, Ryuga would be held in high regards with a lot of your favorite antagonists. He would be just like Oikawa, but for kids.

Another incredible feat of Ryuga is that he was able to teach Kenta the ways of the goat to such an extreme, that the plot needed to kick in in order for to prevent Kenta from winning every battle

DUDE, you forgot to put KENTA and Ryuga in their final battle. KENTA, was SO fucking DETERMINED on making Ryuga listen to him, that he put a CRACK. ON HIS FACEBOLT. No stupid spirit bomb shit like gingka, kenta, was THAT DETERMINED. Like jesus CHRIST, he went on a whole training arc like Gohan! Edit: I forgot to mention, Ryuga lives in the manga version CJ! So, you can be happy to know that Ryuga is still living as a menace in another universe.
He's likely alive in the anime version too. In the next series which takes place in the same setting, a guy gets a Bey from a legendary blader according to him and it shows Ryuga's silhouette.

He most likely survived after the Nemesis battle and retreated into seclusion, met the rival of the main character of Shogun Steel and gave him the Dragon bey. Ryuga couldn't have had a better final fight in the Metal Saga. Not only did he put up the best preformence against Rago (Beyblade God) in a 1v1, but he also gave his powers to Kenta which made him one of the Top 5 Strongest Beybladers.

Ryuga and Kenta's story Arc is one of the best additions to a redemption Arc and one of the best training Arcs I've seen. There's something so cool and wholesome about it. Such a great bond, even if Ryuga wouldn't admit it, like Kyoya with any of his friends, Kenta was Ryuga's friend and he cared for and respected him.

Ryuga did what few characters were able to do. And he did it all with absolute Dominance and sheer disrespect. Truly one of the most goated characters of all time.

- Gave multiple characters PTSD
- Literally boomed the WHOLE WORLD
- Was so OP that Plot and a literal God had to hand him his only 2 losses.
I can name a handful of characters that won their set against the MC, but one of my personal favorite cases is Kaito Tenjo from Yugioh Zexal. He is one of the very, and I mean *very* few characters in the franchise to duel the protagonist more than once and not lose. In fact, the only loss he had in the anime was to one of the villains. He won every other duel he had (although there are two unfinished duels he might have lost but those don't count).
If you want to include the manga (different continuity), he did lose to the MC there, but everyone in the manga had busted cards and his win/loss record was still solid. His only losses there were to the main villain and the MC.

Ryuga vs Jack is one of the most iconic fights in the series. Ryuga really showed up, cooked his opponent and then told the mc that he better not lose before dipping. And then in the next season he straight up scared off a tiger with a GLARE! A true menace!
There is also 1 more scene when mostly all the legendary bladers were battling. Ginka wanted Chris to help defeat the god of destruction. Chris was like nahh and both legendary bladers came out with their special move about to attack each other. And RYUGA negated both of their special moves coming out with straight demon aura and almost drained Chris’s power! Everyone was shook.
