I fell in love with Johnson City! 😍 Clean roads and streets, no crazy traffic, a lot of greenery, breathtaking views of the mountains, nice restaurants, close to Jonesborough and historic places and cute shops - and all of that for an affordable cost of living! You can't beat that! Can't wait to move there! Thank you Stephanie and Shad for helping us to find a lovely home there!
For everyone who's considering their move to Northeast Tennessee - Stephanie and Shad are the best agents! Beautiful hardworking couple and such a pleasure to work with! They are my faves! 🥰
Oh Wow Tanya! Thank you so much for commenting. We love working with you and Serge. We are flattered you took a leap of faith to let us help you find your Tennessee home❤️
Traffic sucks here
Traffic is bad there. Houses and rentals are expensive and going up daily because people are pouring in. I would very much dispute many of these realtors claims of low inflation here and I am a resident.
Stephanie, you and Shad are the cutest couple on CZcams.
We love your videos. They are always so informative. I learn something new about the area with every video. We love living in Northeast Tennessee. So many things to love here...low cost of living, low property taxes, and friendly folks everywhere. It's just beautiful. I encourage anyone who is considering a move here to call Stephanie and Shad. They will help you find a great home here.
Angie, You could make your own video about living in Tennessee! Thank you for the input and the kind words❤️
As a retired 100% Disabled Veteran, I am planning on moving to Johnson City because of the VA there. Currently, Johnson City VA Medical Center ranks #4 in the nation's best of VA Facilities.
See yall in spring 2024
We have worked with many veterans that have moved to this area to be near the VA hospital. Please feel free to reach out to us! Thank you for watching our CZcams channel.
@LivinginJohnsonCityTennessee Thank you for your response. I will definitely be contacting you all after the holidays. Have a Blessed week
Was a patient at that VA for years. Great campus. No complaints
Why not mention the John Sevier Center? Its the heart and soul of down town historic Johnson City. I'm sure there is some Elderly or Disabled person that would like to know there's accommodation for them as well
Well, I'm sold! Can't wait to move there.
Very good reasons 👍 JC is a great place. Thanks for sharing.
Great video!
I’ll be moving there in under a month and I can’t wait❤
No don't. No more outsiders.
We are full
Yeah don’t move here. We are sick of it.
I love watching your videos. They are a big reason we have decided to move to the Tri-City area. You are actually in the process of helping us find a new home.
Yay!! Thank you so much for trusting us to help you with this new chapter in your life!
They are making it sound much less expensive than it has become, and it's getting more expensive every day. I am a resident. There are NO small houses in good shape for sale here, either. We get new parks to pay taxes on every day, which look nice but most of which are little used but expensive in taxes, which are steadily going up.
Keep sharing very educational and informative. Would like to see other areas in NE Tennessee being featured
Thank you for commenting. We cover 7 counties in NE Tennessee. Have you seen our videos about Elizabethton, Kingsport, Bristol, Greeneville, Telford, Afton, Chuckey and Limestone? We will be posting a new video about Erwin next week.
All of the Tri-Cities has the same problem it always had, not enough employment opportunity.
No, retail and service sector doesn't count.
Thank goodness. Now maybe people will stay away.
🌹 Thank you for sharing.
I always stop into Johnson City on my way to Harlan Kentucky. Nice city.
My 🧡 will always live in Jonesborough & Johnson City....
Thanks for another GREAT video!
Glad you like them!
Great video. Best place to live on earth!!!
Thank you David!! Sure is!!
I'm moving there in just three more months!!
Yay! Congratulations!!! Thanks for watching our channel.
Moved from West Palm Beach to Orlando… & I’m ready for a change. These are very helpful! TY 🫶🏼
You're exactly who they want to keep out.
The information you talked about in the 5 reasons was good, sub'd we moved to Bluff City from Michigan, we retired here. own 4 acres on a mountain the house is sucluded , we love it here, love the talk about winter, don't miss anything about Michigan' winters, they have nothing like that here. Heck I had to dig up the snow shovel a couple of years ago. Love it either way. Great informative videos. I do miss some of the foods in Michigan but hey we figured it out. Love the ma and pa diners. Miss Buddys pizza and a good old Coney Dog like at the ball park
I grew up in Michigan. I love the coney dogs and a Slim Jim from Big Boy!! A good reason to visit!!
This area looks amazing. I wonder about the job market.
1. Pals 2. Publix 3.Tri Cities airport
IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL 🤩🥰❤️
It really is and it’s stunning in the spring!
Not really
I was thinking of moving to Johnson City, as well as my sister and brother in law but now I’m reading about the homeless situation and I think I’ll pass.
The endless “homeless” problem (really mental health and drugs) is one reason I escaped Kaliformia. Not anxious to move where they refuse to call the problem what it is. You’re making the same mistakes I’ve seen already made and, yeah, no thanks.
Best of luck but if you’re “leaders” are so weak and mushy I’m not holding out much hope.
I lived there for more than 10 years and loved it. Based on your comment I really don't think the good people of JC will be sad to hear you aren't moving there.
I just wrote a $3700 check for Q2 property tax!! please save me!
Just FYI - the word is "regardless." Not "irregardless."🙂
Looks like Johnson City could use a good interior plant design & maintenance company.
No. It needs more farm land and less people.
Husband and I coming to NE Tennessee in September to scope out Johnson City & surrounding areas for Retirement locations. Your thoughts??😊
Any recommendations for areas close to JC ?
Send an email my way and I will be happy to give you some suggestions. Stefamorr@gmail.com
Now I just need to convince my wife that we need to retire in that area.
Generally speaking how is safety? All those online city/neighborhood stats aggregator sites have me worried making it seem like one of the most dangerous cities... that and Kingsport.
Would love to get your take on general safety. Me and my wife have a two year old and are planning to move from upstate New York.
In terms of crime, youll be fine. Ive lived all over, orig from Guilderland NY. Currently I live in a "bad" area of JC adjacent to downtown and its not bad at all crime wise. Ive had zero problems. But there are downtrodden people about. Not sure about the schools or any of that because I dont have kids. Other nice E TN towns: Unicoi, Greenville, Jonesboro, Bristol, Elizabethton, Mountain City.
Something to know about E. TN is its gritty and funky. if you want something a little smoother in a cubicle, insurance adjuster kind of way, try NC (fabulous Boone is near by). If you want a little more drama & pageantry try SC (Akin is nice).
Many tough people moving here now.
How is the town with foreigners are they treated ok I might consider visiting but I kind of need to know
Our out of state buyers always comment about how kind people are in Tennessee.
the international students and medical affiliates presence has been well received, in my oplnion
@@LivinginJohnsonCityTennessee I've actually heard tennessee is a loving state I might consider a visit
It’s beautiful but is it diverse? Any African Americans in Johnson City?
You can look up any towns demographics at census.gov.
I don't see a contact nbr or other info to contact!

It doesn’t have a Costco.
I know! We are keeping our fingers crossed for one. We do have a Sams.
We are full everyone please don’t move here!
How are things for LGBT+ folks there?
My spouse is heavily involved in that community.
Personally I just want a couple acres nearby that I can do some self sufficient farming on.
Not good. East TN is very conservative overall. NC or Northern VA would probably suit you better.
Doesn't get a very high LGBTQ+ equity rating, which is a shame.
That's a good thing. Christian morals keep places nice.
Stop moving to JC or anywhere in Eastern TN. We are tired of people moving here. Our farming communities are going away and the small towns as well. Crime is up. Rude people. We are tired of it. Stay away.
The problem is rich people (especially liberals) selling their expensive NY, Cali, FL, etc...homes and building new construction McMansions or HOA developments, which raises the average value and taxes on the area. Not to mention CZcams, Instagram, and TikTok showing off affordable, un-liberalized states and cities, which causes people to flock there to avoid their degenerate, high cost of living dumps. This results in the locusts moving and repeating the process over and over again until there is nowhere affordable left.
Great video !
Thank you Alex!!
