With over 3,000 hours in Official PvP on ASE, I completely support your video. I honestly stopped playing when there was a major turn from PvP to see who could win in a fight or to raid a base for loot to the Rust-style wipe people off the server mentality years ago. Granted there were always people who wanted to wipe people's bases and tames from the beginning, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it got at the beginning. Then the server transferring to attempt to ruin as many servers as possible, that's when I finally got tired of it all. I'm a Disabled Veteran, so I was able to be on the game every waking moment, but that didn't mean I wanted to be, but that's what it took to be able to attempt to defend against those kinds of raids.
The big issue with unofficial servers is finding one that has decent settings without a metric ton of mods that change the game in ridiculous ways that feel like cheat codes.
Try RTR those servers are great just QOL mods and some boosted stats. It is basically official just without everything thats annoying. New wipe first of june.
I honestly never heard of dominion can you post the rates ? I currently wait for the new RTR wipe because I won the last one in the "Most player kills" category. They have leaderboards for stuff like this and if you win on the leaderboard you get a custom boss in the game for this server 🤣 wipe will start at first of june.
I play on offical PVE and man the main thing i hate about it is all the pillar and landclaim its crazy. I wanna just play single player but it just dosnt feel right for some reason.
I have been playing unofficial Ark since 2018 and had a blast. I decided to give the official servers another try when asa drop and joined a big megatribe, which was fun for a week. However, the quota, rules, and other issues turned me off, so I left the tribe to play on the smalls servers. I played there for about three months and we got really strong, but the number of cheaters was unbelievable. I had to quit because it was too time-consuming, and the new player movement mechanics didn't suit my style-I mostly do foot PvP. Unfortunately, without resorting to duping, cheating, and other shady tactics, You can't compete on the official servers.
Yeah the last part is basically why I stopped playing. Official pretend to play ARK the way it is intended because well they play official and then they are their base duping all day long.
I get prefering to play on unofficial even tho i myself main official, there are some things you say that are not 100% true tho, for example servers got fully wiped a couple hours after the password leak (so nothing was gained) and what you describe as „lag-room“ hasnt been a thing since like 2018, bosses „lagging out“ and being able to run a cave because of lag are also not really a thing on asa. I prefer playing 1x because i actually don‘t have time for boosted. The way I would play boosted is trying to get ahead of everyone else, which would mean spending the most time in a short time period, until servers wipe and u start again. Been through this tons of times and it has been fun most of the time, but in a long run i just felt what‘s the point of doing anything if it‘s all gone in 2-4-6 weeks. And i get players thinking official big tribes are modern day slavery , but (atleast for most tribes i know of) this is not really the case. My tribe for example does have a pretty easy quota (like for example 80k raw metal within 2-4 weeks) and you can do more to get a higher rank or whatever. If you don‘t have time to fulfill that quota, you can be ranked inactive and come back when u got time again. I can go to work, come home and play for a couple hours and don‘t have to worry about getting offline wiped, whereas on boosted i got offline wiped 90% of the time (or the server just died after a week). As i said i understand a lot of people don‘t like this kind of playstyle, but i actually enjoy the massive tribe v tribe wars, ark politics etc etc. but thats just me i guess 😂
I understand the thing with having a massive tribe and big fights. And I know that there are based tribes too. Yet I can not agree the thing regarding performance official servers just run poorly.
Concerning PVE I see absolutly no benefit to play on an official server. (I have played on both) Why would someone go on a server without any moderation and map cleaning is beyond me, official PVE maps are waste sites. If I'm wrong please feel free to correct me
Totally agree i played on official servers for years but i wouldnt do it anymore and had bad experiences on servers with admins that mess with the pvp so im sticking to single player doing the bosses with one character and transferring my mutated dinos to each map
I think that's a cool way to play the game because over time you can create absolute monsters mutating for so long. You won't get that anywhere else tbh
tbh, on official you expect the megatribes to be toxic, so you avoid their servers as much as possible and thats it for the most part. Then you face the issue with hackers with ESP and literally no chance to hide, just to get meshed, but the megatribes won't be as big of an issue. But I can't see where you found the difference between officials and unofficials in toxicity. They are literally the same. The unofficial players get with the higher rates their sruff even quicker than on officials and they do literally the same stuff if not worse. I've spent over 8k hours on unofficials and the moment the pve timers dropped (if those were even repsent) then at least haf of the population got wiped out (50% was literally the best outcome if the server had raidlimits and punishments if those limits weren't respected). This is basically the same as the official servers, just without the mapwide spam
On unofficial stuff like this happens too but depending on the cluster there can be rules, admins and so on that keep the toxicity on a moderate level you won't find a server with 0 toxicity thats kinda part of the game but overall there are less hackers.
Idk pvp I quit doing that years ago. Started just playing official pve for like 3 years and couldn’t be happier. Switching over to it at first was incredibly boring tho
I agree with most of what you said here. The problems with official are numerous and its why we have such a small amount of the player base. Not all tribes require you to do all those things you listed though. It's mainly mega tribes that play dirty and expect you to treat it like a second job. The ping is dismal no matter where you go so I agree with that. Yeah we spam caves it's cause if you're going to build that's where you do it. Farming artifacts is important to survival and running a cave for everyone is a huge waste of time. The bosses aren't difficult you can clear a monkey fight in 2 minutes. Every fight is enter the arena kill boss collect ele move on. I would love for some more in depth boss fights but I feel like that won't come until we get Rockwell again. The meshing and cheating is also a problem that has followed us from ASE but it's mainly due to the devs not handling tickets in a timely manner or at all and battle eye isn't a good enough anti cheat. The toxic players do ruin it for the rest of us but by no means is that every official ark PVP player.
You sound like a very reflected player! I said most things in drastical tone by no mean is every player like that. The problem is that those who are like this basically ruin the fun for everyone. And yes many things are also Wildcards fault because as long as stuff is possible there will always be one person doing that.

Thats why official smalltribes is suprior. Yes its still toxic but no alliances and 6man cap. I played 1x but never in a big tribe instead as a trio and i thought it was to ez. I tried unofficial but its feels fake and the loot doesnt matter
I get your point! I also like small tribes a lot more but I won't play any official in the next time because even for Small Tribes i simply have no time. Unofficial provides the possibility for me to progress much faster and still have the same fun from time to time even more because unofficial has way less hackers.

Honestly if you find a good cluster unofficial is great it basically is nice without all of the headache topics on unofficial noone needs to dupe and exploit. I mean you will always find one doing that but it becomes the minority.

I have to disagree. Every official player claims that offi is so hard it was probably the easiest i ever played on offi is basically singleplayer if you claimed the whole server on unofficial i can be sniped at pretty much any moment
Oh and i cant imagine playing ark on pc. There are way to many cheaters. And the preformance is garbage i strongly believe the best ark experiance is on ps5. No cheaters, no lagg and the game still looks good. Yes theres is still mesh, dupe and commands but thats stuff that wildcard has to fix and isnt any1 else his fault

the point of this game is to survive... its a SURVIVAL... whats the point of playing a SURVIVAL game if ur not trying to SURVIVE other threats... the main concept is PVP but they cater to PVE so crybabies can keep their precious mutated dinos for 2397 years for no reason. ive played on official for 8 years and been wiped countless times have never ONCE stopped playing on official. and every time i came back raised and army and destroyed lots of people and got payback... its the thrill and the sense of accomplishment... u dont get that in PVE or these pretend land servers with 400x rates. Say what you want but PVP is not for the weak. thats why its only a dedicated minority of the fanbase.

This is very wrong. All of us are not toxic. And generalising all of us make you toxic and shows us your understanding of the official servers are very low. Some tribes have a big quota but bigger tribes have a lower quota because of the amount of members. The game now is that you have to make your members wanna play so you will have players on if you get flooded. You can't overcap anymore. So for me you are looking like the toxic one

This is a survival game and if you don't want to do what it takes to survive then play something else. I suggest be in a bigger tribe if u can so you don't have to farm to much like me. I'm in a very good tribe and once a month for my tribe to survive the wares I hand In a quota. If you can't grind one weekend in a month then this isn't the game for u. BTW unofficial still have toxic players
