    Not to throw shade but, the fact that you took the time to do this video but clearly have taken no time to research pcp airguns and you greatly lack understanding of operation of how the unit operates and misdiagnosed the airbolt failure as an issue with the rifle, the “metal piece the broadhead screws into” is an aluminum insert which is glued into the shaft. They are cheap arrows, it came out and no air was diverted through the rear of the arrow back into the barrel shroud causing the entirety of air to be directed out in front. That’s why it was loud. You can’t give a good honest review if you have no knowledge of the product. No hate here guys honestly but do some research and come back with an update. Mine has been incredible and was made even better by building my own bolts. It is certainly not a good pcp air rifle to buy as your first and without a tank or compressor of your own.

    I was having the same issue with the point inserts blowing off. Was never able to get more than 4 shots from one arrow and some failed on the first shot. My solution was to switch to the Hatsan air bow arrows. Their air bow is much more powerful than ours and the arrows seem to be built for it. I have had no issue with any of the Hatsan arrows and as a side benefit they are heavier if you are using your air sabre for hunting. My rifle has been flawless and I really like it, but the Umarex arrows just would not work for me.

  • @LongBinh70
    @LongBinh70 Před rokem +1

    I got my Airsaber mid-summer '22. Accuracy, supported, was about 8" at 30 yards. Not good. I'm shocked your trigger is so good. Mine has about 5/8" of very rough travel before the bow goes off, which is a factor in the accuracy. Before I shot it for the first time I noticed the center launch tube was not concentric with the outer tube - by a LOT.
    I researched and found it's not uncommon, and the "fix" is to remove the outer tube and to bend the inner flight tube with your fingers and keep trying the outer tube until it looks right! For something that costs so much, this is NOT acceptable that something has to be bent right out of the box!
    I regret the purchase.

    Accurate, kills game great. I can leave it charged all year with no problems. Out of nine arrows, I still have seven. One was stuck in wood and broke, and the other busted a bucks shoulder, before zinging off into the woods somewhere. The only broadhead that can be trusted, is the NAP Spitfire crossbow head. The other broadheads will fail. Nothing hit with the Spitfires has been any trouble to recover.
    You used a used arrow and the wrong broadhead.
    Cautions. Buy a very good target, since even most 400 fps targets will not keep the arrows from penetrating past the vanes. Also, use multiple spot targets, unless you want to hit your own arrows.
    As of now, nothing you say has any validity at all, unless I see you write something that mirrors reality.

SEMPER FI!!!

  • @davida.4933
    @davida.4933 Před 2 lety +1

    The power is blowing the end cap off...they need a longer insert that is grooved so the epoxy holds better and the type of epoxy is important. This is a potential problem with other airguns as well. Arguably the arrows need an offset twist on the vanes for broadhead accuracy.
    Most importantly, the gun should be tapped for a rifle sling! I think the whole gun is a bit long and could be shortened a few inches. Yes, I know that reduces power somewhat, but these guns are extremely high powered already. I shoot 260 fps. in another arrow gun and the penetration in deer with a 3 blade cut on impact broadhead is phenomenal.
    I do agree with the criticism of a safety near the trigger. Why not make the stock more conventional? Not a particular fan of radical stocks. It would be great to have a regulated valve for additional consistency between shots. The first 3-5 shots at least need to be nearly identical. I have taken 4 deer with various arrow guns so have some experience with these issues. Bigger future if they implement these common sense
    suggestions vs. making twin barrel variants, etc IMHO.

    • @DirtNapBros
      @DirtNapBros  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the comment! We agree with you on all your suggestions. Although ours does have a spot for a sling.

    • @davida.4933
      @davida.4933 Před rokem

      @@DirtNapBros You are correct it is tapped for rifle sling. The main complaint is the arrows.
      Now, if you make your own arrows, you can solve the issue of the inserts blowing out. Just get .300 crossbow bolts and the brass Goldtip inserts for these.. I rough the these inserts with a file so the epoxy grips them better to the shafts. I also reduced power somewhat. But, really the inserts are still shorter than I would like to feel confident they won't bow out. What's the big deal with Umarex providing such a short insert on their arrows? Make 'em 3" long and deeply grooved and they won't blow out. Umarex should have the option of selling the arrow components like many companies do. Anyway, it's all solvable if you have experience in making arrows, but the problem undoubtedly hasn't helped Umarex despite making an impressive rifle.

  • @Jazzberrytpt1
    @Jazzberrytpt1 Před 9 měsíci

    Obviously you must have gotten one that quality control missed. Mine never leaked. Always cock the gun the first time you fill it and each time. Otherwise air will leak.
    I use two bladed broad heads and heavier than 100 grains. Yes you will have to sight in higher, but flight Characteristics and penetration is better.

    Umarex had a bad batchof arrows and a new it but because they wanted to sell those guns for Christmas they let those arrows go out to the public some of them wouldn't even fit over the shaft they tell you to use silicone lube which is hard to find they should have put a little bit in the Box that doesn't make any sense that they didn't. You'll have much better luck if you cut those straight fletchings off and refletch them with 2in helical Fletching that will spin the arrow and make those broadheads fly true. Hard to shoot the gun freehand without a rest because the trigger has so much creep. The gun shoots most consistently at 3000 to 3300 PSI. Problem is if you filled a gun in the house at 70degrees and then take it out in the field at 30° PSI can change over 300 PSI. When people are shooting that gun on the videos there shooting it off of a big tank which gives them a consistent PSI that's not the case when you're shooting the gun with just the gun filled because the gun is not regulated. My scope mounts would not tighten on the rail and had to be shimmed. Benjamin advertising 4500fps with a regulated 2000psi gun makes u wonder. This air saber is not a very reliable all weather hunting gun.

      imagine that, air pressure changes with temperature.... I guess this genius has never worked with pneumatic tires before lol. The velocity runs in a bell-curve on unregulated guns, it's always changing. You just have to identify the plateaus where you get several shots of similar velocity together.
      Silicone oil/dry films/grease is widely available, a simple google search would yield many options, including many local shops (it's used for a lot of things).
      helical fletching has repeatedly been found to not help dart accuracy in any significant way in dart guns (in bows, it helps for the first 10m in managing archer's paradox (not an issue with these)), and has been found to seriously hinder velocity at range due to unnecessary drag (even in bows).
      Mass produced Air guns in general have abysmal triggers, the springs have to be stronger than firearm springs in order to overcome the pressure in the reservoir, and the companies don't take the time to refine the sear engagement before sending them out the door... "they're toys, after all" (common sentiment that's even shared by many of the companies making them). Simple fix: take the gun apart and fix the trigger. Files and sandpaper. Even with the stock trigger, it's no worse than the vast majority of crossbow triggers, which have to hold back substantially more force and have considerably more sear engagement (yet people shoot those just fine off hand)
      On the scope needing to be shimmed, were you using picatinny/weaver mounts? if so, there shouldn't have been an issue.
      Agreed, a 4500 psi fill with a 2-3000 psi regulated pressure (preferably an adjustable regulator) and a 2 cubic inch plenum would have been better.

      Actually.... I worked at a Custom paintball gun CNC/manufacture called JmJ concepts making the highest grade customs paintball guns for consumers. So I know ho pneumatic works how airguns work. As for the manufactures think they are making toys.... It is a bit sad that this is the sentiment. Thank you for the comment!!

      @@wildrangeringreen Good points. It's the small things that make all the difference! Wouldn't cost more than $20/gun to perfect this product and virtually zip to have longer and better arrow inserts. Fantastic potential, why do companies (and Umarex is far from the only one) try to take short cuts that only reduce their eventual profits?
