- Today I range tested the maximum flight distance of the Holystone HS175D to see if it would live up to the claims of 300m Wifi FPV range and also 500m of maximum flight distance. Here are the results of two back to back flight range tests. Holystone H1S175D Available here on Amazon AU amzn.to/3NgRQ44 Extra 5% off code: CSCBO3V2

Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Keep in mind that all range claims assume a lack of RF interference. Once contact with the controller is lost the drone will (and absolutely should) return to home as best possible given the data that is available to the drone.
Great range test Dave. I had similar results with mine made it to 473m with the drone and the same 473m with the FPV.
Yeah i remember you had decent range on this drone also, good to see it can get the distance. I had a go at my usual spot but there is way too much wifi interference there from all the houses. Cheers for watching Dan🍻
Glad you didn't have a flyaway Great range test and flight
Thanks Will, yeah I had thought it wasn't coming back for a second on the first flight out there over the abandoned powerstation 😄
Yup indeed. A saved fly away when hope is almost lost can actually be exhilarating. 😁 😎👍
Yeah it's a relief when you finally hear it and look up and see it returned back. Cheers for watching Robert
@@PERTHWESTOZRCyeah you diffinately lose sight and walla, hear it comes automatically
Great Video , ty !
Thanks for watching Jason 👍
Good morning mate..great content as usual 👌
Thanks for watching mate and good morning, have a good one!👍
Pretty impressive flight range on this. What a beautiful coastline you have near you. Looked like it’s got a solid camera too!
I have the brushed version of this, and last time I had it in the air was a year ago! Makes me want to get some drones out soon! Thanks for the range test buddy! Hope you enjoy the rest of your week brother!👊🏼😎
Thanks for watching Robby, at least this drone reached the claimed reange on the specs, most of these cheaper drones do not. Yeah i like this stretch of beach, great for flying drones as it is rather empty, so you don't have to worry about flying over crowds of beach-goers, especially this time of year. I think i will do more range tests here as there is very little interference.
@@PERTHWESTOZRC yeah, it’s pretty hard to find a place with out a crowd l bet…
Thank you for the review
My pleasure Gene, thanks for watching brother
I think the L900 pro looks better aside from the camera features. I have an upgraded antenna and a new arm and motor is arriving tomorrow (broke arm crashing into a tree) so I'll test the range. The new WIFI antenna is huge and supports 5ghz so it should work, hoping to get 500m out of the camera.
I had this as my first drone few years ago. It’s a toy, and kind of fun to play with. Definitely not a proper drone be careful she’ll lose connection and wander off.
Amazing! A drone that actually does what it says it can. Great job Dave. 🦘😎👍
Yes it's a good change from most cheap drone companies that over exaggerate their distance claims. Cheers for watching mate, appreciate it 🍻
Very nice range test Dave.
Thanks Gregory, it was good to see a budget GPS drone actually reached the claimed distance for a change
comment enregistre t on le point de décollage ?
What’s an antenner?
I would want to know if u always need to calibrate the HS700d as compared to Dji's
Yes i recommend calibrating the compass on these cheaper drones, also the apps usually force you to do so before you take off on these Holystone drones. Thanks for watching
lol I think I will keep mine at no farther than 300 meters 😆 To be on safe side.
What is the maximum height you have safely reached for the drone. And did you lose the visual signal during a height test? If yes to how many meters?
Maximum height is regulated by the national airspace regulatory body. In the U.S.A. we are limited to 390 feet AGL without filing a flight plan and receiving permission to exceed the normal limit (which is only possible for licensed drone pilots). That value is pretty standard around the world.
Legal limit of Altitude is 120m or 400ft, I only usually fly between 50 - 80m high, don't really see the point to go any higher
I've had this drone a little over a week now, every time I would go for distance, and or height the HS175D wouldn't respond to the commands I will try not using beginner mode and putting the cell phone to airplane mode. I wanted to be able to get closer to things, see further and use for my home made music videos, but the drone gets caught in trees and the blades gets damaged, for now I will blame it on user error, as long as I stay around 11-12ft and fly no more than 20 yards I can maintain a bit of control, but as soon as I push the envelope it wont take long before I find myself hoping that I can get it from the tree tops again, my luck will run out if I don't figure out what I can do so that my HS175D fly like the ones that I see on CZcams, suggestions are welcome, please and thank you!!!!
I would definitely not use this drone for filming music videos, unless you like shaky footage, it's a toy drone bro, I suggest buy a dji mavic mini
You're so right, the footage is very shaky, thanks!
How well does it work in fpv without proper stabilization on the camera?
Why is the drone so shaky?
Camera is not stabilised if that's what you're referring to
Holy stone drones, not good for motion sickness!
