The fact that this bird isn't gouging your eyes out means it really respects you.

Old CZcams was so wonderful. Just look at the comments from pre2010. People were nice to each other I. The comment sections. It was before the algorithms figured out that hate gets more attention than kindness. It was before social media manipulated us into hating each other.

All American representation aside, I just love how majestic and astonishing these bald eagles can be. Very impressive Freedom can be this very close to you, man. Ain’t just American patriotism I see. I see a strong and tight bond you two share. I heavily admire for what you do, man.

It's an incredible demonstration of trust. She lets him manipulate her wing and tap her chest without the slightest flinch, he is totally relaxed while inches from her talons and centimeters from her beak! I believe this is what God intended when he told Adam & Eve that they would be the caretakers of the earth and "rule" over the animals. Not because creatures are there to be exploited, but because humans alone can do things like healing broken wings. We are meant to kindly lead, not be cruel masters. It's truly amazing to get a glimpse into the Garden of Eden like this.

this bird was looking at the camera pretty much the whole time. eagles have four focal points, two in each eye. one going diagonally forward, one straight out to the side. each of her head positions told me that she was really interested in that camera. so cute

You did the right thing, what a magnificent jewel of a bird!!!!! I envy your contact with her. I have had good luck with even the worst cases... had a baby sparrow in my attic pushed out of her nest by the parents because she had Avian Pox. Left to die, small baby, covered in blisters and so hungry. She chirped all night till I found her! Never thought there was a nest in the attic!!
Avian pox is like Small Pox for birds! Also had a huge gash in her leg. Vet visits later, hand fed her to adulthood. Became a strong and very tame sparrow. Rejoined her family in the garden. I fed her live mealworms, vitamins, etc. Worked. Wild animals are very strong. I also rescued several eagles in India, one with a bullet hole in wing. Healed in 3 weeks! He mated on our coconut tree, had offspring, and cried with delight when he saw me. His mate dive bombed us, but he knew we had saved his life.

I know this is an old video, but I'm just now discovering it. Wow, what an incredible, awesome sight to see a bald eagle up close, AND to see her interacting with a human in such a calm, gentle, trusting way. The handler has done a remarkable job; no doubt it is not an easy task to gain an eagle's trust. I adore birds of prey, so thank you for sharing this beauty with us!!

This video is 13 years old, and yet people still find it and comment. That’s wonderful. Freedom is a beautiful eagle, and I’m thankful they gave her a chance; 99% sure that she could never return to the wild, but still, they cared for her and gave her a chance. And shouldn’t it always be that way?
What a privilege it is for this man to be close to such a magnificent creature - to hold her and to have her trust. I can’t think of many things I’d rather do.

I lived in Lawrenceburg Indiana and these beautiful creatures have started making homes on the Ohio river. I got to watch 2 of them on their mating flight it was the most amazing and beautiful thing I ever seen. I have no doubt it was God at work cause 2 days later another one fluttered gracefully down in front of me and hovered above the water and gracefully grabbed a fish and flew off,it was the most amazing thing to see. I have no doubt God made me a fisher of man that day
I live in Indiana too. walking home from a short neighborhood walk before a storm I saw a bald eagle hunting small birds out of the air. It was especially epic to witness under a pre-thunderstorm dark sky

Oh my gosh!!! She’s so sweet and she trusts her handler so much to just touch her wings and chest like that!! Birds are naturally such anxious creatures, and this lovely lady has clearly been through quite a traumatic life experience, so the care it must have taken to build that much trust with her is incredible!!

The American Eagle is one of the most beautiful birds I've ever seen, the perfect image for the United States of America. This guy and the eagle have alot of love for eachother and it's very apparent the eagle trusts him implicitly. It's a beautiful thing to see.
