Nice fish bud! Louisiana is good, but have you ever tried shore lunch? That's my go to breading. Dip it in the breading, then egg then back into the breading again. If you want more texture crumble up some crackers and add it into the breading when you're ready for the second dip. Tasty stuff! Keep the content coming bud, been binge watching your stuff when I'm not working or fishing myself lol
I've found that when the water is pretty much just ice off the fish would cruise the flats. Which Id use a slow and steady retrieve. And if the water is deeper and the fish are after baitfish, they usually like to eat towards the bottom. Then i go low and slow.

Wow - those trout will be able to grow with all of those good sized bait in the water. I find its easier after the behind the gills cut to have the belly facing me and then cutting from the butt hole to the gill cut...that way your next cut is along the spine only. A silver Rapala would have done well too (husky jerk - maybe size 8)
Did you remove the pin bones? Love the use of the cast iron. Best choice. If you ever want a healthier cooking oil, lard and avocado oil are where it's at. Contrary to popular belief haha.

It is the flutter motion of the spoon dropping that is how you're supposed to fish a spoon normally in a nice moving River you cast it let it work itself across the river back to your side spoons are to be flooded not real then like a spinner
Never know about that lake? I've driven over there and not a fish. Then the next trip just slay them. Try the stream north of the lake . Never fished it but looks good on Google.

The minnows in that lake owe you a debt of gratitude! That trout must've been like Godzilla for them! About how long were each minnow? 2"/3"?
